[Video] [Transmitting from outside Haven]
[Wing appears over the link, the signal grainy and flickering. He's looking weary from the long trip back from the Badlands but with the barest hint of Prima's light in sight now, his relief is obvious. He can't wait to be home--that's he's starting to consider it home is a bit of revelation in and of itself--and touching the Link is the first part of that.]
Greetings all. We're safely on our way back from the Badlands, fear not. Now that I have Link access again I a few bits of business I'd like to attend to.
First off, know that phase one of the Rec Station is nearly complete. We'll bring you more details in the next few days!
Secondly, I seek some assistance from our medics, or anyone else that might be knowledgeable in the related areas. Let me explain.
The current configuration of my Cybertronian frame does not allow me to carry passengers. It simply wasn't necessary or useful previous to this. But now that there are more humanoids here I wish to be of better aid in this regard, which requires that I have a true cockpit that meets safety specs. And maybe a stereo system.
[He's run into this convenience multiple times since arriving, time to do something about it! Plus he might have made a few promises to people...]
I don't wish to change my altmode or my frame entirely--[he cants his head as his thoughts side track] though I suppose minor upgrades could be considered if they were easy to do in the process [then a head shake as he pulls himself back to the primary topic.]--but I realize that our medics may not have the necessary equipment or resources to accomplish what I need entirely their own. So I plan to petition Solus for aid soon on the matter.
However...
Of equal importance is the safety of the passenger. So I also need data on the safety specifications and tolerances for transporting humans and other humanoid species: speed, altitude, temperature, air density and pressure, g-forces, and other relevant statistics. Given this data I will adapt all my flight protocols to take the safety of a passenger into account.
Any aid people could give me would with this be greatly appreciated.
[He seems pretty serious about this, not to mention eager.]
Thirdly, a few messages for folks I won't bore the rest of you with.
Vandal... am I correct in understanding that your wound is still not fully healed? I think my friend Korra may be able to do something about that and I'd like to introduce you two.
Korra, I have another human friend, Vandal, who was badly injured sometime ago. Natural healing for humans is rather slow from what I can tell. I know you can heal flesh with water bending? Is there anything you can do for her? I'd like to introduce you two if you are willing.

voice;
[His frame shudders and he tries to shake it off.] I--had thought it interesting at first, an adventure as it were, but I know better now. Nothing living should go near that place.
[Wing gladly grabs onto the happier subject.] He was successful yes. According to Prima, this should help free him from his curse. It is only one step however, but it is progress, so I am hopeful.
voice;
Then... I'm glad you came back here. All of you.
[He's quiet a moment -- that's good to hear. He'd been... worried. About a human being. This is a new sensation.]
Good. No one should be erased like that.
voice;
[He shakes his helm, disquieted.]
I am too. It's good to hear people's voices, see the faces of friends. Being...home.
[Kagerou's choice of words seems important but Wing is not sure why. He can only guess he'll understand in time.] I wouldn't want anything to happen to Ashitaka. And if it did, he would be remembered.
voice;
[Please explain, sir. These are words he has no connection to.]
Home. Where is it you live, here?
[His voice sharpens.]
I promised him -- I will remember him. No matter what.
voice; --> video
[The video feed flicks on and you see Wing's face briefly, then this image appears for a moment.]
We all had to band together to fight them off. They were unintelligent, intent on just...devouring anything in their path.
As it's been described to me by Vector Prime, the First Forged are working bring order to this young world. But their are forces of chaos and darkness which are opposing their efforts. The Lambda, these monsters, the Badlands...are all part of that.
[You have to realize, Wing rather easily accepts things of mystical nature. If you asked someone else for an explanation you might get something a little different.]
I live in Vector Prime's Tower, his quadrant is east of the Junk Pile. I--didn't think of it as home at first but...[He might as well just say it, each step brings him closer to acceptance right?]...I don't have much to go back to, to be honest.
[He nods.] A worthy promise.
video
That's... that's awful. Why were they allowed to come here?
[He's not really experienced with anything like this. He'll just... take Wing at his word, since he's obviously got this all figured out.]
So. We're simply meant to deal with these things as they come? There's nothing to be done about it?
[He tilts his head.]
I haven't been over there yet, I don't think. [Then pauses.] ... and that makes two of us, I suppose.
video
I tend to agree. I'm happy we have so many here with good combat skills to repeal such an invasion. As I understand it they came from the Lambda. I don't think anyone has control over it... it's pure chaos.
[Wing is not happy with that explanation either, but he has nothing better to offer.]
I think we have to. Until the First Forged and figure out a way to close the Lambda.
Vector's temple grounds are actually quite beautiful. [It makes him grin, but then it fades a bit.] You as well? I'm sorry, for what it's worth.
[He's curious, but he certainly won't pry.]
video
[Because that seems like something that would be helpful to, oh, maybe, everyone here.]
[But that's not really up to Wing, so he keeps that thought to himself.]
I should... look there. Shouldn't I? [One shoulder twitches -- a shrug.] You haven't done anything worth apologizing for.
video
[He sighs and holds out his hands, helpless.]
I'm not a scientist unfortunately. I wish I could help them.
You could, if you liked. Don't be afraid to explore, I just wouldn't venture too far from Haven's proper. And if you like Vector's Tower you could choose a room there. Since you have friends there. [His voice softens as the topic changes.] No, but I can be sympathetic. Being brought here is one thing, but knowing you have nothing to go back to? That your time would have been ended...is a hard thing to come to terms with. I understand.
video
[He shakes his head. He's not a scientist either. All he has to go on is whatever he happened to overhear from the engineers overseeing them.]
Because outside of the Haven is where you went. You, Ashitaka, and the others.
[It's less of a question, and more him checking to see if he has his facts correct.]
[Except then he sort of draws up in on himself.]
You understand? How could anyone here understand something like that?
video
[He'd be lying if he said it wasn't a touch unsettling.]
Yes. To the Badlands. But that's pretty far away, several days journey. It's more that, knowing that hostile things come through the Lambda in any number at any time, I feel like we can't assume anywhere outside Haven is safe to go alone. It's wild territory.
[He worries over what to say for a moment. Because he doesn't like lingering over or subjecting others to grim subjects. But it was true that the more he discussed it, the more its shadow left him.]
I...was in a battle immediately before arriving here. The most skilled enemy I'd ever faced struck a blow that killed me, shattered my spark... I was dying when the Lambda sucked me into its hold and left me here, somehow healed. ...I still don't know why.
video | sob that icon why
[He doesn't really expect an answer. It's meant to be more rhetorical, anyway. Just thinking out loud.]
If it isn't safe to be out there... then we're stuck here, waiting for an all-clear signal. Or something like that. Aren't we?
[That part he does seem to want confirmation on. More attempts to understand this world -- or the world in general, really.]
[But then he... stares. The one visible optic in his face gets very wide. If he were human, he'd probably have gone pale.]
You...
You were killed... too?
no subject
Essentially. They do call us Refugees. I don't think we're supposed to be here. I don't think anything that comes through the Lambda is, but where else is there to go?
[He nods, slowly, it's a painful memory.]
I...yes. [His expressions softens in sympathy.] Is that what happened to you?
no subject
[Not that... he's in any particular hurry to return to exactly when he was taken from.]
[And it looks like he's not the only one, either. He curls a little, arms folding, shoulders drawing in.]
I'm sorry... I... I'm sorry.
[Because he really has no idea what else to say to that. Or how to answer the question.]
... So... so they told me.
no subject
[It's a mutual feeling. If they could go back...who's to say it wouldn't bet to the moment they were taken from?]
[His helm bows and he leans in, in the way one would lean closer to another for comfort.]
I am too Kagerou. [For all that Wing knew his death had both meaning and purpose, and for as willingly as he'd given it...he hadn't wanted to die.]
[He nods again, a shadow falling over his face..] Drift...confirmed it for me. He survived the battle. I am glad for that, at least. [A weak smile.]
no subject
[Maybe not. But, then again, if there were a list of things Kagerou has experience with, time-space distortions wouldn't even make the same page.]
[He stays hunched up on himself. It doesn't help anything, really, even if it feels more secure that way.]
I wish... I wish no one had told me.
[Frankly, he doesn't care how that comes out sounding. It would be better, he thinks, given what he'd been told about how he -- about everything.]
... and he's all right. That's... it's good to know that.
