[Tadaaa. It's the resident ninja robot. Who's sitting up on the roof of the medbay's temple thing, studying his hand.]

I think I've recovered by now...

[A beat, and he regards the video feed, calmly.]

... I'm tired of sitting here, being useless. It's time I started living. And so... I want to try it. The fuel everyone here uses. "Energon".

Is there somewhere you all go to find it?

I've been offered... recently... the chance to join your team. By two of your number. When I was asked, I wasn't sure what I wanted. Or if your offer was sincere.

[He falls silent. This isn't easy to say.]

If... so. If you will still have me...

[It feels -- wrong or awkward or something along those lines, to make a decision for someone else.]

[But at the mention of the lake, he makes a face, scowling.]

I know that lake, yes. And I... don't like it.

[Kagerou, that's only because you took a crash course in swimming that ended horribly.]

You want me to fly with you? Around this place...? [He pauses. No prizes for guessing who the only other person he's ever flown with is.] I... wouldn't mind that. If you're sure you want to.

I tend to think such things are more interesting in person, but then I know not everyone agrees so I don't force it.

[Hard not to miss that scowl.]

Haha, well perhaps not Alpha Trion's then? Not all mechs are equipped to deal with the challenges that come with aquatic environments. [Sinking like a stone is kind of a problem.] Well, barring any other options that would be preferable to you, I could invite you to stay in Vector's Tower. Drift and I are live here.

[He grins again, because flying is one of favorite things, and as a social mech, Wing likes doing it with others.]

Absolutely I would! The joy of flight is a wonderful thing. And there's something grand about being able to share it with others. [Wing muses a moment.] Why don't we do this: I can come meet you, we can take a flight, then pick a quiet spot and you can tell me your story. I'll even offer one of my own, as that is only fair.

I don't know which would be better.

[He lacks the experience to make a decision like that.]

Water got everywhere. I could feel it in... places. [Wing it was so gross. You have no idea. He tilts his head though.] You live together?

[Flying is good though. Very good. Even if he's been trying to get used to doing it alone.]

That... yes. I would like to do that.

[And there it is. The smallest flicker of a smile.]

[There's a sympathetic chuckle there.] Oh dear. Yes, unless your frame is sealed and your venting system equipped to prevent water intake it can be quite...unpleasant.

[He looks a little startled for a moment, simply because though he doesn't share a room with Drift it's a rather pleasant thought.] We live in the tower together. We...don't share a room. Though, I wouldn't be opposed to it. [Oh, there's a cute little grin on his face for a moment.]

[Squee! Wing likes having sky buddies!] Wonderful! Where are you currently?

No, it's not. I'm not meant for water...

[The irony of this statement is utterly lost on him, fortunately.]

[He nods, though.]

You should, then. I used to share my space with someone... it was nice. Comfortable.

[And oh man does he ever miss it.]

The temple the medbay is in. I'm... on top of it.

[Wing chuckles.] Best to avoid it then to be certain.

I'd like to. I...hope to ask him soon. You had a roommate then? You'll have to tell me about it.

[Little does he know...]

Wonderful, I'll be there shortly!

... something like that, yes.

[It's just easier to agree.]

[There's more of a story there, but then story time was going to come later so he'll just be in his way.]

[Wing leaves via his balcony as usual and makes a beeline for Solus's temple. Given his speed he's there in no time, the small white and red jet making a lazy circle around the structure until he spots Kagerou.]

[He's exactly where he said he would be. Perched up on the top-most part of the temple, watching the sky.]

[When he spots the jet, his arms unfold, and he steps to one side, as if to make room for a landing.]

[The highest perch, a likely location. Wing can certainly relate. He hovers close thanks to his grav thrusters, then in a whirl of metal he takes his root mode. His nacelles and jump jets ensure that he gracefully touches down near Kagerou, delicate white wings folding onto his back.]

[He smiles warmly and nods a greeting, his hands up.]

Kagerou, it's good to meet you in person finally.

[He can't deny that's really neat to watch. He's not ungraceful, himself. But who wouldn't appreciate seeing something like that?]

[... How is a prototype supposed to compare?]

[Regardless, his expression flicks into a near-smile, and, just like he was taught, he holds a hand out. Look, see? He learned to shake hands.]

Wing.

I'm glad to see you, too. Thank you.

[By not comparing and being exactly as he was meant to be.]

[That smile is a wonder to see, and Wing gratefully takes your hand in his own, covering it with his other and giving it a good squeeze.]

It's my pleasure really. Flying is one of my favorite things but I often do it alone. So it's nice to have another willing to join me.

Are you ready? Do you need any fuel before we go?

[That might take a while.]

[He looks down at their hands, and blinks. The squeezing is a little new, but... it's not bad.]

Tired of being alone, too?

[He nods though. He's ready. He even unfolds his wings as proof.]

[We've got a whole lifetime.]

[Wing just likes to go the extra mile.]

In this? Yes. It's been a long time...

[He grins. Looks like you might in for a real treat.] Shall we then?

[And with that he leaps, taking to his alt mode, and angling off to the north. He doesn't go too far too fast, waiting for Kagerou to join him.]

It has... or it feels like it.

[He nods, that brief and vague smile flickering again.] Yes. Let's go.

[He doesn't jump so much as he does step off the ledge. There's a second or two of freefall before he, too, transforms. Not into a jet...]

[It's a bird.]

[But off he goes after the Cybertronian.]

Regardless we're doing something about it now...

[It's good to see the smile flickering over Kagerou's face more often, Wing's decided it needs to be more common.]

[He waits until Kagerou joins him off one wingtip, then jets off towards the north in a wide arch. He keeps the Junk Pile in the distance always on their right, taking a leisurely pace through the terrain. As they approach the mountains of Liege Maximo's he turns his nose up, gaining altitude. The chill of the air slips over both their frames, the light from Prima's tower reflecting in the patches of ices that dot the ground. In the distance ahead can be see the rise of a temple, it's twisting crystalline spires catching the light and turning it in upon itself.]

This is Liege Maximo's domain. You can see his temple directly ahead. [If you could see his face, he'd probably be smiling.] Anytime you want to spot and look around, or even circle for a better look, just speak up!

Yes. So we are.

[He wonders, briefly, if he can even keep up with a jet -- while he could always keep up with his fellow ninja, they were both of human design. No telling how that stood up to an alien race of robots.]

[But that doesn't seem to be a problem now, thanks to the slower pace. Which he's grateful for. And it's... actually sort of pretty here. He's seeing now far more of this world than he ever saw of his own.]

[How is he supposed to feel about that?]

... I know that temple, yes. [He hesitates, and the bird may have shifted closer to the jet.] I found it before.

[Prism was there.]

[A sedate pace suited this activity better anyway, they could play and chase each other through the sky on another day.]

There's always a sense of wonder in exploration for me, seeing and experiencing things I never have. [Though it may not be the same for everyone.]

You've been here before?

[He notices how you slide closer and takes up a protective position off your flank.] What is it Kagerou?

Everything is... something I've never seen.

[Since he pretty much only saw the city he was created in for a little while before being brought here. Or... dying. Everything is new.]

[It is nice though, to see where he's been living from this height.]

I... have.

[The admittance is hesitant. Though he does appreciate the position shift.] ... That's Prism's temple.

Well then I suppose it's good you're getting a tour! I hope it's interesting to you.

[Life is an adventure, even moreso when it's all new and waiting to be explored!]

[But then Wing pauses, because he didn't realize this is where it had happened...]

I'm...sorry Kagerou. He can't hurt you up here. [Wing hopes anyway, as it is his altitude bearing creeps upwards.] And you're not alone, I wouldn't let him harm you.

It is. I... I think I like it here. The scenery. It's different than what I saw, back home.

[He doesn't answer right away, opting to follow after the jet. The higher they go, the better it feels. The further away everything is that ever wanted to harm or erase him.]

[It's good.]

You're right. It's safe up here. Isn't it?

Safe... to do whatever I want. Go where I want.

Earth is primarily organic right? Cybertron is quite different, so I'm glad you like it.

[He levels out once the distance seems safer, changing his bearing for Megatronus's quadrant further to the north.]

Yes. Far safer than on the ground at any rate. I've been flying freely since I got here and only had to worry about other fliers. But as long as you pay attention to your surroundings you should be okay.

Yes. But... I only ever saw the city. And the ocean. Nothing else.

[Safe.]

[It's a word that has... far more meaning to him than it probably should. He does stick close, but, as they change direction, he purposefully slows.]

I want to try something. Please, don't worry.

[He'd tried this before, once. Before they then restricted him to flights inside the facility. Probably because of this... trick.]

Is that all right?

So you didn't experience much of Earth? Well hopefully we can do better here on Cybertron.

[His ailerons shift, it's a somewhat inquisitive motion, the closest he can come to in jet mode.]

Please, feel free. I'll be right here watching.

No. I never had the chance to.

[There's a beat of silence, and then, he transforms, still airborne, to give Wing a nod.]

[Up he goes, abruptly, rapidly gaining altitude...]

[Only to kill his thrusters, and fold his wings. He drops like a rock, not even bothering to slow his descent. Systems are shrieking warnings, emergency protocols are popping up to override his decision. But he holds them back.]

[He's in total freefall.]

[And if feels... fantastic. It's his choice, right now, whether to catch himself, or to smash into the ground. A choice always denied before.]

[He does choose to catch himself, though, wings and thrusters stopping his fall before it's too dangerous, and he makes his way back up again to the Cybertronian.]

[Smiling.]
