[Video] [Originating from outside Solian Temple]
[What has two thumbs, two brand-new spankin’ wings and thought a flight test without training was a good idea?
THIS GUY.
But wait, let’s rewind. You know those little winglets Wheeljack had that couldn’t amount to half a sheet of metal? NO MORE. They are now large and in charge, completely capable of flight. The wheels on the bot’s legs and shoulders are now gone, replaced by pauldrons and is given a more streamlined look, but for the most part, the Wrecker stays the same. Did we mention the wings?
The Link opens up to a close-view of the Wrecker’s face, lip contorted into a thoughtful pout as he taps it.]
Is this thing on?
Of course it is! Are you sure you want to do this without supervision?
[Wheeljack only gives a nod, immediately backing up to show his new form, standing outside what looks to be Solus Prime’s temple. His wrists wiggle slightly, as if stretching them as he seems to be talking to the cameraman.]
I gotta learn somehow. Best way is to dive right into it. Can they see me?
Uh...yes. I believe so.
Great.
[He gives a little open gesture, open palm to his wings.]
Alright, got some news for you all. Bots from my world? Can’t really take flight like some of you guys can. Well that all ends today! Not sure how, but I got myself some nice, new feathers. So what better way to use them than what they were given for? Flight.
I have a bad feeling about this...
[There’s only a shrug from the Wrecker as he readies his position, rolling his shoulders. He had a feeling on how the transformation would work, so he’s feeling pretty confident on it. His feet brace themselves against the ground, and his his posture goes to that of someone ready to jump up into the air.]
‘Kay. First lift off. Three...two.....
One.
[He springs up, doing a twirl in the air as metal slides over metal, transforming into quite the handsome jet, going up into the sky....
and U-turning right into Solus Prime’s temple.
The jet immediately changes back as he crashes to the ground, groaning. That...could have gone better.]
JACKIE!!
[The camera goes all jittery as Ratchet runs over, looking to see the damages.]

[He's the white thing propped up against it looking like a moron.]
[Video --> Action]
I'm on my way.
[Sure enough, a blue F15-Eagle soon streaks across the sky, dropping altitude fast as he approaches. At almost last-minute, he pulls up his nosecone and flares his ailerons, transforms in mid-air, and lands lightly on his feet (as lightly as a 20+ft-tall mech can, that is). He pauses to really take in the mech's frame. And his likely identity, if his general appearance and coloring is anything to go by - alternate realities allowed for.]
. . . Wheeljack?
[Action]
...wait you probably think he's a nerd, don't you.]
The one and only.
[Action]
[Nerd or not, you seem a lot rougher and more confident than the one he knew. Huh. He motions to step away from the wall.]
Turn around. Let me see what you've got.
[He just wants to try to make sure you have all the necessary components.]
[Action]
No funny business, got it?
[Action]
[Thundercracker certainly can't blame him the comment. He'd be the same were their positions reversed. He takes a moment to survey from a distance, then speaks again, tone neutral.]
I'm approaching.
[He won't until he has confirmation, then he comes up to get a better look at a few components.]
I'm going to touch a few places. Tell me how well you feel them and if you can control them.
[Again, he waits for confirmation before doing so.]
Re: [Action]
[He really appreciates those warnings, Thundercracker. He might have punched you in the face out of habit if you didn't. ]
You're cleared, buddy. Just be gentle.
[He readies himself, just in case.]
[Action] LOL kinda making up a few things here... XD;;;
[Thundercracker completely understands, considering he'd have done the same thing. He'll spend a few minutes touching along Wheeljack's wings, having him move the ailerons - showing the Seeker that he has both connection to and at least decently "fine" control of his new components.]
You seem to have everything you need, at least as far as physical components. What about sensors? An altimeter? Tilt-axis meter? I've already seen you can transform, so that's out of the way...
[Action] THATS CHILL I DONT BLAME YOU
I...think so.
[YAY FOR ANSWERS.]
So I pass the inspection, chief?
[Action] XD
One more thing. Transform. But don't go anywhere. Just rest a moment on your landing gear.
[He's pretty sure he knows what Wheeljack did wrong when he tried flying the last time . . . but Thundercracker's not sure he can explain it to a non-flyer without having the parts "present".]
[Action]
[He backs up slightly, making sure to get his distance before leaping up and transforming. Thankfully, he doesn't kick his thrusters into gear like last time, and remains at rest.]
[Action]
All right . . . your ailerons - the flaps along the back edges of your wings - help control your ascent and decent. Climbing or dropping altitude. Dipping one wing or the other has a lot to do with turning, but most of your control comes from the rudder of your tailfin.
[Moving his hand slowly, he gripped the flap and gently pushed it back and forth fractions of an inch, just enough to make his point.]
You had your rudder turned to the side, like you had a spazz in the gears. That's why you turned and angled like you did.
[Action]
So ya gotta do a combination of these things-[Wiggle of his ailerons] and your rudder.
[Action]
[Thundercracker nodded.]
Coordination. That's what you need to learn. Hm . . . let's get some altitude, up where you're not as likely to run into anything. Come on, Autobot!
[It's a challenge, yes, and the Seeker can't help the tone of confident superiority in his voice, but rather than anything really malicious, he's actually curious - and amused - to see if the grounder really can learn to fly. With no more warning than his words, he transforms with the grace of a lifetime of practice, the sleek F15-Eagle arrowing for the open sky above them. He calls back over an open comm so that Wheeljack can easily hear him.]
Nose up, ailerons flexed up, rudder straight. Otherwise, let your thrusters do the work.
