The reason why America celebrates it is because it won its independence from England, another country, who was more or less bossing America around stupidly. Although if Duke was here, he might tell you differently. This happened wayyyy before I was made, though. It was a long time ago.
Most of the time, Americans just celebrate it because it's a nice way to get a little patriotic about our home. Granted, I wasn't in America for very long, but I kind of want an excuse for having a good time here, even if it's just for a few hours.
