So here's a question. A bit of perspective is needed here. I'm a robot made and from Earth, so what do I know or care about your religion, war, or other wacky pieces of history? Usually, I don't, but I need a Cybertronian outlook here. Or maybe the Firstforged are feeling a little ballsy enough to talk to me. Who knows!
We ended up here against our will. Oh, sure, nobody expected that. We just kinda fell through and we're here getting snug in these... [Gunmax looks very uncomfortable with the word.] Temples. First thing you probably noticed is that the Firstforged brand us, singling us out. I'm surprised no one else seems to care that I've got this random mark on my arm saying I belong to someone. I already got that attitude enough elsewhere, thank you!
Then there's the following issues: not being told things. The calling of the Badlands, losing people to them... [Here, Gunmax scowls deeply, very unhappy with this.] Maybe they come back. But then, they don't always remember. But were we really told about any of this? Were we really told about what might happen to us? Or about these pages from Alpha Trion?
No. We weren't. Ol' Al here loses some pages, we take a few doodles, and random crap happened. Thanks for the heads-up, really, it was nice with those bombs and the creepering and everything else that happened. Dandy, even! I was a big fan of it.
So you can turn yourselves in, guys. You can feel bad about what you did or didn't do. You can feel ridiculous for what situation you were in, or whatever. But here's the bottom line:
It was someone else's lack of responsibility. And it's one of those people that want to pass judgment on you and take part in the construction and enforcement of law. That's a nice way of saying "Do all the work, but we'll sit around and let you know when we make up our minds."
So my question: Do you really trust the Firstforged?
Just thought it'd be something to think about. Me? I'm going for a drive, baby.

[Oh you know, breaking barriers. What else is new.]
Mm, good point.
Sounds good. See you then.

[Gunmax we need those!]
[He'd let you drive for a bit on your own, though, until he caught up with you.]
You know. You could have said it in a less confrontational manner, but you are right.

[Someone can repair them!
That's very sweet. Gunmax probably needs the time to drive alone for a bit.]
Less confrontational... We are still talking about me, right?

Gunmax. [Stern, he can manage, but it doesn't sound particularly angry.] Your reckless behavior might cause us to lose some valuable allies on a hostile and unfamiliar alien world.
[Nope, he can't even keep it up.]
Even if you have a good point.
You can still learn new behaviors.

...Hmm, I'm not usually very skilled with diplomacy. But I felt someone had to say something. You think I went about this wrong?
I can. I don't want to. ...But I suppose "want" and "should" are different.

I think that the Firstforged may not have been forthright about everything that can happen to us...
...but I think they also might not know. Have you tried asking them?
[Get the evidence first, then lets go for the arrest!]
If they are at fault then they should have to answer for their crimes, just as the rest of us would. But I'd like to know before making that accusation.
[Reckless as always, Gunmax. However...]
I don't...want you to change. [He just wants you to take one extra second before doing something rash.]

There's a lot of things they seem secretive about as well, like Alpha Trion's pages. That could have been avoided if we'd known about them.
Suppose so. But they don't seem inclined to admit to being wrong, either.
[Gunmax snorts.] Well, you don't need to worry about that. I don't change for anybody.

But we're still guests on their world. I do not know that we're owed explanations, as polite as it would be for them to give it to us.
[Still, it does suck.]
Good.
Now. What do you think we ought to ask of them?
