So here's a question. A bit of perspective is needed here. I'm a robot made and from Earth, so what do I know or care about your religion, war, or other wacky pieces of history? Usually, I don't, but I need a Cybertronian outlook here. Or maybe the Firstforged are feeling a little ballsy enough to talk to me. Who knows!

We ended up here against our will. Oh, sure, nobody expected that. We just kinda fell through and we're here getting snug in these... [Gunmax looks very uncomfortable with the word.] Temples. First thing you probably noticed is that the Firstforged brand us, singling us out. I'm surprised no one else seems to care that I've got this random mark on my arm saying I belong to someone. I already got that attitude enough elsewhere, thank you!

Then there's the following issues: not being told things. The calling of the Badlands, losing people to them... [Here, Gunmax scowls deeply, very unhappy with this.] Maybe they come back. But then, they don't always remember. But were we really told about any of this? Were we really told about what might happen to us? Or about these pages from Alpha Trion?

No. We weren't. Ol' Al here loses some pages, we take a few doodles, and random crap happened. Thanks for the heads-up, really, it was nice with those bombs and the creepering and everything else that happened. Dandy, even! I was a big fan of it.

So you can turn yourselves in, guys. You can feel bad about what you did or didn't do. You can feel ridiculous for what situation you were in, or whatever. But here's the bottom line:

It was someone else's lack of responsibility. And it's one of those people that want to pass judgment on you and take part in the construction and enforcement of law. That's a nice way of saying "Do all the work, but we'll sit around and let you know when we make up our minds."

So my question: Do you really trust the Firstforged?

Just thought it'd be something to think about. Me? I'm going for a drive, baby.

Mm, after I almost died, I was the nice prototype to see if the engine switch would be successful. After that, McCrane and Deckerd got the switch.

You let me know too, eh? [he leans forward. most of Nexus' pleasant demeanor is gone - he still seems confused, but there's also a seriousness that would be out of character if not for the fact that he's been basically accused of leaving people out to dry]

Because it seems to me that not everybody's talking to eachother, too, if you were the first out of desperation - but another who asked for fuel didn't seem to be in such serious condition by the time their turn came around.

Oh, I will. I'm a lot of things, Nexus -- but I keep my word.

[Even if they were speaking face to face, it's likely to say that Gunmax would not be intimidated. It's part of who he is. Very Megatronic, no doubt.]

Certainly leaves a lot for questioning, hm? I'll keep it all in mind.

[too bad the two Firstforged aren't on better terms...but Nexus nods in satisfaction] So do I. And I'd say as much, too. Just be easier for the lot of us if you speak up a little sooner, eh?

Let me be honest. Ever since I got here, I haven't... seen a good reason to trust any of you yet. It goes beyond than just the fuel matter. Sure, that was a miscommunication or... whatever.

But I have other issues. Maybe not at you directly, but in general, I don't have a high opinion.

[he frowns, a bit, but it doesn't seem to be at Gunmax directly] I ain't gonna tell you what to think. If you were Cybertronian it might be different, but I'll be honest, too - it's a mindtrip to hear these stories of what we are that haven't happened yet.

Also a mindtrip minding our own business, when suddenly there's a huge influx of people who don't belong here, way before the planet itself is prepared to host a set of lifeforms rather than...well. Us. We can't just turn you out, not when it's pretty clear it's not your own fault you're here, and especially when something marks - don't ask me what, but I can sure as anything tell you we didn't put those Marks on you - anyway, when something marks you as something other than one of Unicron's monsters.

[he reaches up, scratching at the back of his helm]

Guess what I'm trying to say, 'bot, is that we've got our own set of issues we're trying to deal with. You want us to earn your trust, that's your business. But if you think we've got everything and are trying to just make things hard for the sake of being hard...we've got a whole lot more in our cubes than that.

All right, so you aren't marking us and you don't know who. Do you know why it's so... segregated? What's the point of that?

Just this whole thing. The secrets, not knowing everything... Maybe it's not purpose, but it's left a bad flavor in my mouth. Not knowing what the Badlands are, and hell! I don't even know who Unicron is. And the whole thing with Trion's pages? Pissed me right off. I just feel like we're being kept in the dark.

Got a couple guesses, but nothing solid. [he lowers his hand, shrugging a little] Trion's not usually that careless - he's always got his face in a datapad of some sort, but I got the feeling that something else may have been behind that Tome getting scattered. Don't ask me what, that's bookworm's business, and if he wants a hand with it he'll ask for it.

Though. [it seems to make him realize something] You ever asked 'bout Unicron? Or anything else, for that matter?
