004 [video]

[Leviathan has suddenly realized something, and it's obvious by the look on her face.]

Has anyone seen Zero lately? I don't think I've heard from him since he first showed up here.

I digress, but may I speak to a medic? I need to get my fuel systems upgraded to use energon.

Let me send you the coordinates. For now, my personal quarters will have to do. [here, have some pretty numbers]

[now that we both seem to be getting back into action - action!]

[Ambulon had been waiting for her, setting up his equipment. He quickly saw her inside, gesturing to the metal slab.] So, run me by what you want to do again? [He fiddles with some of the medical instruments. A consult first; anything major later.]

[Ambulon pulls up the files she gave him some time ago. Looks them over, before turning back to her.] There's a possibility I can somehow override your system into processing energon as fuel. Given the fact you are not organic. [He scratches his head, frowns.] I don't think we have the equipment necessary to rebuild you a whole new fuel system. But manipulating it may work...

aw yeah let's be turtles together!

Well, we could test it out first before I make it permanent, of course. [He approaches the berth, sitting her schematics down.] I'd rather not pull you apart, either. I just need access to your CPU - er, well, your brain, if you will. Reprogramming is easier than completely replacing and transplanting equipment. [That would probably require dissection, yeah.]

Direct access would be our best route, since I'm not sure our equipment or programming would be compatible. [He watches her closely, studying the exposed access ports.] A way to open, and rewrite the program that corresponds with your fuel intake, is what I'm hoping to do. If it doesn't work, again, surgery's your next best option. I'd need the equipment, but until then, I'm sure we could find ways of refueling you, should this not work.

Same. [It's interesting, of course. From a scientific, medical, and basically general interest. She's not like his people, though robotic - watching her mind split open is both pretty similar but also fascinating. Nonetheless, Ambulon doesn't bother wasting his time gawking.]

I think I can take it from here.

[And this is where science fiction comes in handy. Relying on the schematics, he carefully navigates through her programming, like one would fuss with a computer. Very, very carefully. It's a bit difficult - as he imagined it would be - but so far, so good.] Might... take a while. [He mumbled, still tinkering away with her "brain".] Is everything all right? No pain? I tried not to set off any sensors.

That's good. Just remember to tell me if there's any pain or weird sensation. Though you may feel a little dizzy afterward.

[He continued fussing with the equipment. He speaks plainly, seriously, slightly distracted.] What I'm doing is rewriting the coding in your base programming to convert energon into the necessary fuel you'll need. It may result in your need to consume more energon than you would have fuel, since your programming may only take a little of the substance at a time.

[Ambulon frowned] Again, let's try this out for the next few days, maybe a week - if you are feeling ill, immediately report back to me. Don't want your system failing or shutting down. If nothing changes, then we may have to try something new. A transplant may be in order, but... I can only hope we find the proper equipment. Or if we can make something with what we have on hand. A new fuel pump and tank system, plus future upgrades to your programming.

[He wasn't sure how much time had passed, but he knew he'd taken a while. He wanted to be careful, delicate, and her system was still new to him. Nonetheless, by the hour mark, Ambulon withdrew his hands and stepped back.] That should do it. Now to see if it works...

[A second later, Ambulon deposited a small cube of energon in her hands.] Try this - I'll monitor your programming. If the upgrade and re-wiring is successful, I'll know. You may as well, if your system reacts positively as if it were fuel.
