[There's a moment of fuzz before the video actually settles and comes through completely, Smokescreen standing just outside Alpha Trion's temple, one hand resting on his hip as he holds the camera with the other. He'd been filled in by an acolyte, of course, but that didn't make him any less prepared to believe completely, meaning that he had to go out and see everything for himself. A part of him wanted to find Alpha Trion himself--mostly because he couldn't believe the other was still functioning--but right now he wanted to see if he could find any of the others.]

Smokescreen reporting in. Anyone from Team Prime out there? I figured it'd be best to touch base with at least someone before I started trying to just find you guys or something like that.

[Despite the odd nature of his situation, Smokescreen seems pretty relaxed--or he's at least keeping himself together pretty well because he's not really sure how he got back to Cybertron. Sure the acolyte had told him about that giant hole that was dumping people through but..that..was about as believable as saying Starscream had changed for the better. At least in his opinion.]

Arcee? Bumblebee? Bulkhead? Ratchet? Optimus? Anyone? Come on guys, don't leave me hanging please. I really want to get the real details of whatever's going on and you're the ones I want to hear it from. As much as I'd love to just believe this was all good and well and Cybertron was really in an okay state like this, you'll understand if I completely and totally don't believe it right?

[He's itching to go and do something, like always, shifting his weight back and forth as his doorwings twitch some.]

[Hey, that's a name he's familiar with, at least in passing...or...conversations he sort of listened in on.]

You were Arcee's partner right?

'Were'? 'Were'? What's this 'were' stuff? I don't think I resigned from that position just yet. But yeah, you're close enough.

[....Oh...Awwwkkkwwarrddd.]

Um..I...well it was just something I heard the others talking about so I mean, I could have overheard them wrong. I just haven't seen you at the base so I mean, I assumed you guys were't partners anymore?

[Yeah, that sounded good, right? Smokescreen lifts his free hand to rub the back of his neck a bit, suddenly feeling really uncomfortable.]

[Huh, well that's weird. He normally doesn't try to make other Autobots uncomfortable on purpose.]

You okay there, buddy?

What? Yeah! Of course! Totally fine!

[He puts on a big grin that might be a little fake but hey, he can roll with it.]

So are the others here?

I've seen Arcee and Bulkhead. Ratchet was here but...

[His cheerful demeanor grows a little colder and his expression turns angrier.]

...he turned tail and ran.

[His optics flicker some, confusion appearing on his face.]

Wait, Ratchet..ran? That--are you sure?

I wish I weren't, kid, trust me. He did something pretty fragged up over the video feed, which I guess wasn't exactly his fault, but the moment he got better he just decided that was it. He was done. No one's seen him since. Uh... but if any little human kids ask, try to make it sound like things aren't completely hopeless. They're sensitive little things.

But the way things are going, it's not looking so good.

[He's still just a little angry over what Ratchet did, and him disappearing didn't make things any better. So his view on the situation might be a tiny bit biased.]

..That doesn't..sound like the Ratchet I know. He's such a stubborn slagger most of the time...

[It doesn't sit well with Smokescreen, and it shows, because as much as he may give Ratchet a hard time, he does admire the other in his own little way.]

Wait. The kids are here? Which ones?

[Better to focus on something slightly less upsetting right? Well, no, the kids being there was upsetting too but...still.]

Doesn't sound like any Ratchet I know, either, but that's what went down. If I had an answer, I'd give you one.

[Speaking of answers he doesn't have, lets get back to the topic of the kids.]

Funny story, I have absolutely no idea what their names are. ...Except a Kay. You know a Kay? You can have her, kid drives me up the wall.

Kay? No, I'm not familiar with anyone by that name...I know a Miko, Raf, and Jack. No Kay though.

Shoot, and here I thought I'd finally get her off my hands. [He chuckles.] So what's your story? You know Team Prime, but I still don't know anything about you.

[Smokescreen can't help but grin a bit; there's something about this bot that he likes.]

Well, I went through Elite Guard training back on my Cybertron and ended up playing guard to Alpha Trion. He kind of turned into a mentor and..a friend too...but then the Hall of Records was attacked and....

[He trails off, looking down a bit, his doorwings drooping as he suddenly feels like a real rookie.]

I was knocked out before I could do anything.

[Wow, that was not the kind of story he was expecting. Not that that's a bad thing, in fact he looks pretty excited until Smokescreen gets to the part where he got knocked out.]

The nerve of some 'Cons, knocking a guy out before he can throw a punch. Well, considering the fact that you're talking to me this very minute, I'm going to take a guess and say you made it out okay. Please, tell me you made them hurt.

[Smokescreen gives a weak grin.]

Well, I woke up on a 'Con ship and managed to steal an escape pod and make it to Earth eventually. That's where Prime and his team found me. I made sure to beat the slag out of a lot of cons as soon as I could. Especially Starscream.

[He grins a bit more now, looking quite pleased with himself.]

[Color him impressed.]

You went toe to toe with Scream? Now that's what I like to hear. Where have you been all my life?

Yeah and he was even using the Apex Armor. I managed to snag the Phase Shifter from our vaults and took him out with that.

[Look at that ego swell. He likes getting praise for the good things he's done.]

On Cybertron and in stasis, unfortunately. [He grins though.] No time like the present to make up for it though!

That's not fighting, that is art. Nice job, would've never thought of that.

That's it, it's settled. The moment they set that bar up, we're going. There's no way you best Starscream and not get something for it.

Unfortunately it's not all good news. They sure love taking their sweet time setting this place up, sooo might be awhile. Gives you something to look forward to, at least!
