[Accidental Video] [Transmitting from: The Junkpile]

[Oh hey the camera is rolling, that's interesting! Too bad there's nothing in sight besides a nearby junkpile. A groan can be heard from somewhere and a yellow hand appears on the feed, closely followed by a familiar face as Cheetor does an unexpected faceplant. He feels so... wrong. So weak, he almost can't push himself to his feet.

What happened?

A green eye opens and stares listlessly at his communicator for a moment, as if he can't comprehend what he's seeing. He blinks and suddenly it all comes back to him: Jaguar! His mission! Wait, what happened he can remember...

Oh.

He died didn't he?

Yes.

Wow.

This brings up a whole host of new questions, but first he should, y'know, say something. He manages to push himself up into a sitting position, leaning against a metal column as he tries to figure out what he should say.]

So...

I guess I failed my mission. Sorry Ultra Magnus, I'll do better next time.

[He has yet to truly wrap his mind around what just happened to him...]

I went after Jaguar... I told Ultra Magnus that I could handle it.

You went after Jaguar yourself?

[He sounds a little upset. He's allowed to do reckless and dangerous things: not anyone else.]

[Drift is torn between lecturing the mech about how stupid that was and the realization that he himself was...probably just as stupid. He didn't have the best track record with risky behaviors.]

[To hear it be said out loud makes it all the more terrifying, and Cheetor's optics widen frantically. He's not sure what he's supposed to do anymore and he's too tired to run away.]

Cheetor I've...almost died. A lot. It does feel weird. It doesn't mean anything's wrong with you. It just might take time before things seem normal again.

I've never... well obviously I've never died before. It's really, uh... [Scary, but he's not going to admit to that.]

What do you do that puts your life in so much danger?

It's unsettling. [See? Not 'scary'--totally different!] But you're alive and that's something important, don't you think?

[Deep breath. Yeah, that's a hell of a story.] I fight. [Okay, maybe not that long a story, though.]

Yeah, unsettling. [That sounds way better than 'scary'] I definitely like being alive more than I like being dead. Way more interesting.

[Oh come on, there's gotta be more to it than that.]

You fight? What do you fight?

Right. Just focus on that. It gets easier.

[He hopes.]

Had some energon, at least?

[A semi-uncomfortable shrug.] I fight in the war. So...whoever's bad. [It is complicated, Cheetor.]

[He glances around for a moment, trying to decide if it's a good idea to ask...]

Do... you think you can show me a thing or two about fighting?

I'm actually kinda new at this.

[He tilts his head: for his part, it's still weird to think there are Cybertronians who know nothing about fighting. Even Wing could fight. Even Wing knew about the war. ]

All right. What do you want to learn? Swords? Guns? Hand-to-hand?

[A shrug.] It's not a bad thing to be new at, honestly. [Just...next time don't go after someone like Jaguar.]

[The chance to improve his skills so he can take on Jaguar for real definitely changes his mood.]

Swords would be awesome, but all I have are my guns and my servos.

You should contact Wing, too. He's the best at hand-to-hand.

[Only truth. Drift was pretty good, but Wing regularly threw him around like a paper airplane.]

I'm not 'cool'. This place is dangerous and anything that prepares someone to face it better is simply common sense.
