[Video] - locked
I'd intended to ask earlier if I'd known the connection as well as had things not turned complicated during that... noise.
[Complicated as in necessitating locking himself and Starscream up.]
While the noise itself is silent now, we have an influx of Glyphless, so taken altogether, would a close-up reading of the Lambda be of interest?
[Jetfire frowns, casting a look upwards even if the view isn't wide enough to show the sky or the Lambda itself.]
I can, however, obviously not get close enough on my own, even if I should [simply given his function and the logistics of being capable of breaking orbit and being space-capable...], and since this might be interesting to you as well...
Could I perhaps ask for assistance, since it might be useful to all of us?

I'm operating at maximum efficiency.
I even managed to answer this inquiry first.
However, the important part is that the Lambda is observed. We have been noticing an exponential increase in the rate of fluctuation. That should be monitored.
If we need something to explode, however, I'll be sure to get in touch with you.

Nexus just nods, understandingly]
It'd be good to give Vector a break on that, don't get me wrong. You know as much as I do he ain't the kind for ask for one, but let's both remember the, ah, 'Sigma' incident.
In fact - hey, Jetfire, that's your name, right?
[AND THIS IS A SHIT-EATING GRIN]
Wanna hear a funny story?

Before you say too much.
[That's enough ice for a glacier in his expression, now.]
Jetfire, report to me and I will have you outfitted.
[Locked]
Be a little more careful this time, eh?
[...it seems more forced at this point than anything. he disconnects soon after.]
[Locked]
But maybe it wouldn't matter here, with this, and the offer of "upgrading", which should probably have him rather wary, if he wasn't so very used to doing this to himself, was mostly met with curiosity. Some caution, but mostly curiosity.]
I did ask both, mostly because I figured more than one point of view would be useful, but in the end, what I need... we might all need, is merely that it be done.
[He pauses, frowning slightly.]
I had my suspicions that it would be too late, but if it would still be useful in the future I am definitely interested... and willing. I've already upgraded or changed my baseline with changes I've researched myself, several times.
[So, if anything, he'd used to it, even if this would probably be vastly different, if only due to where it came from.]
[Locked]
Space is dangerous, however.
The Lambda...
[He trails off.]
Like the badlands, we cannot go near it. There may be other similarities. [The Calling. He fears that may happen to you. On the other hand...the potential data is worth enough to risk.]
[Locked]
Ah. That's part of the issue, then... [Trailing off, Jetfire tilted his helm upwards to study the black-on-white, impossibly glowing anomaly above him.]
As short and as few trips as possible then, while still fulfilling the point of said trips and getting useable data recorded, but hopfully minimising effects... And an examination after each trip, to compare and find if there's been any noticeable effects.
[He did want to do this however, and as long as precautions and procedures were taken...]
I'm willing to attempt this, however. Even with the potential risks, the gain might not just be worth it, but necessary.
[Nonetheless, Jetfire paused to look away for a moment, then back.]
When?
[Locked]
[Yet another reason why he likes you. You can extrapolate.]
There will be gain, whether you succeed or fail--provided you get close enough. I will speak with Alpha Trion about boosting power to the Link so we'll remain in contact.
[...]
Soon.
I hesitate to begin an endeavor this important when there are enemies in our midst. [He means the Glyphless.]
[Locked]
Which will be impossible to know until I can get out of low orbit. [It was flat confirmation; they'd get no further here until and unless something was done.]
... [Jetfire dips his helm in a nod. While he doesn't exactly agree with that they're enemies now, if they will indeed be driven insane from the lack of Glyphs, then that's surely what they'll have to be treated as.]
I see your point. Patience, then, until this is solved... Would it be possible to lock them up, to give those of us unwilling to just give up time, or would they turn on each other?
[It's a long shot, and not at all the best, but it just occured to him, and he feels he should ask.]
[Locked]
[...]
[Of the Glyphless, however, he does not wish to speak too much.] They will turn on everything, Jetfire. The most efficient use of our time would be to destroy them, now...
...or to bring them in, for study.
However, I have gathered that doing such would be displeasing to the residents, would it not?
[Locked]
[Briefly, he taps his chin and then nods. Something like that should be done either way, for completeness and comparison's sake.
And then, he can't quite hide his frown.]
For most of us, it would be, yes. Even if it's only a question of "when", not "if" that they are affected. And any possible study ought to be kept as non-invasive as possible.
[Because he technically isn't against studying them, comparing and maybe finding something... But that precludes some basic respect for the individual and committment to not causing pain.
He'd been slightly more flexible about that in the past. Slightly. Now? Not so much, no matter the gain.]
Re: [Locked]
Very well.
I have taken that thought into advisement, and I shall...[He pauses.]...Ask. For volunteers.
When it becomes necessary.
[Locked]
[He's not sure how much he can trust that, or... what might come of it, but the gratefulness is nonetheless sincere as jetfire dips his helm.]
Whenever this is over, then, I should be available.
[And he doesn't exactly look forward to telling Starscream. He has a feeling that's not going to go over well. At all.]
