[It was no surprise to him that his time on this new Cybertron was going better than his last three years on an ancient one. Parts for the portal were already being gathered and assembled, nobody was directly threatening to kill him, and he'd passed his schematics out to multiple individuals who had a shot at making it work. With nothing more to do on the project, himself, he'd decided to pursue a little...entertainment, and perhaps secure a bit of additional assistance on the way.]

[Besides, this arena was actually pretty nice.]

It's been almost a decacycle, and though little has changed in how these 'Firstforged' treat us, we've already managed to accomplish enough.

Of course, if we're to become monsters as I've heard claims we will be, then those of you who are marked should get a bit of practice in beforehand, hm?

[Without a further word, a bright purple glow illuminates the screen for a moment as Megatron unsheathes his energon mace from his hand-socket and gives it a whirl.]

I have a meeting with one or two already, so this message is for the rest...

[Yes, he knows you are in a prison and all. However, he doesn't suspect that's going to stop you, if the rumors he has heard are true.]

[Although it's phrased as a question, he expects at least one of you to be there. Otherwise, he might get...cranky. You know. If there's no one to patch up the folks he's trying not to kill.]

The nature of the invitation could be potentially harmful.

Optimus, my friend, that is the point. [The particular inflection on 'friend' reminds him of his own Optimus, who would likely be disproving of this action as well.]

Anyone not wishing to get hurt should know better than to step into the Arena with me.

[He pauses, considering.]

You could, of course, come down to warn them.

[And then you'd be nearby, and he'd get a look at your specs.]

[We are not friends, Megatron.]

You are baiting them. On a Cybertron that is not your own, and making sport of something which should be worked towards finding a solution to.

[Is that a challenge.]

If it will deviate them, then I will do so.

I have been working on a solution. [His optics flash.] I have spent the last decacycle organizing any mech who would listen to me into working a way off of this Primus-abandoned rock. All that can be done, I have done.

Forgive me if I'm indulging in some exercise to keep my processor off the thought that my failure might result in my going insane.

[He hadn't noticed that his engine was growling, but now that he'd done with his rant he clamps the sound.]

Surely a little diversion cannot hurt.

[Yes it is a challenge.]

[He's been doing the same, Megatron...except Primes don't party. Or...exercise. No they pretty much just sit in vehicle mode thinking about...things.]

Should your diversion puts the mortality of others at stake, I must disagree. Yes. It will "hurt".

[Those eyes flash back. Challenge accepted.]

[He laughs.] These are not death matches. I even have sanctioned medics on hand. [They were sanctioned by him, but they were still there.]

[He's not sure how much faith he can put in what you say, but...it'll be all cleared up once he arrives at the arena.]

[YES AND THEN THERE WAS A LOT OF DRIVING AND THEN OPTIMUS APPEARED! He rolls into the arena in his vehicle mode, transforming upon arrival. His blue optics search the area, looking for the Megatron in question.

He was...apprehensive, at best.]

[What Optimus had in apprehension, Megatron had in excitement. There were few things better than testing his mettle against a Prime. Knowing his future history, it delighted him.]

Earth alt mode.

[Megatron was standing toward the edge of the Arena, having finished one battle and ready for the next.]

Nice engine.

[Now, all he needed was to decide the weapon.]

[Optimus only can stare blankly at the 'compliments', as if studying this Megatron now that they're in the 'flesh'. Those eyes dilate and contract, inspecting details, and the only other movement given are his fingers slightly twitching.

He's still as stone, otherwise.]

I find it difficult to believe you will not attempt to terminate any Autobots. Forgive my assumption if you truly mean different.
