[While he hasn't been overly social as of late--outside of hanging out with Blades here and there and fanboying over Prime, Smokescreen has been at least keeping tabs on everything. So he knows that things have been kind of weird.

And now he's worried because he hasn't heard from or seen certain individuals in awhile.]

Has anyone seen Prime--my Prime, the one from mine and Bulkhead's home? I haven't been able to track him down.

[And he's worried. Because he doesn't want to lose his ~~father figure~~ leader.]

Not that I don't think Optimus can't take care of himself or anything...I'm just wanted to report in. You all know how it goes, right?

[He fidgets a bit, doorwings drooping some as he glances over at the lake.]

...Bulkhead? Wheeljack? Cliffjumper? You guys alright too?

You're not the only one. What I've heard that might happen to him and others without Glyphs isn't helping. [He really doesn't want to think about his leader turning into a monster.]

[The idea of Optimus being anything but awesome and good is weird to Smokescreen and he just doesn't understand how it could happen.]

We gotta keep up hope, kid. Optimus is better than this. I mean he defeated Unicron once on our world. [Surely if anybody can fight this, it's Optimus. ....right?]

I know, I know. Optimus is the best so I mean I know he can handle this...I just don't want him to have to do it alone I guess.

[Cue him rubbing the back of his neck a bit.]

I don't either. We need to be there with him, for him. We're his team. ...family. [He'll leave off that there's only three from the team here.] He would do the same for us.

[Only Optimus doesn't want them to. It has him conflicted.]

[Plus, he hero worships Optimus--as well as Bulkhead and Wheeljack but shh--so he's determined to help somehow.]

Think we might have to track him down and keep an eye on him. [Whether he likes it or not.]

[There's no response for a long span of time and when he does finally reconnect, the younger boy looks distraught.

Really distraught.]

Bulkhead..he....we....we need to find him. Okay? Please?

....Smokescreen, did something happen?

Optimus he--he asked me to....

[He sort of just loses his composure, doorwings sinking as he looks away, voice cracking a bit.]

...He said if anything happened...that he wants me to take care of him...

[It's his turn for a lengthy silence. Kid, you're breaking his spark.

Optimus, you fragging glitch. Asking the kid to do that. You should've asked him. Or Wheeljack even.]

You won't have to do it alone.

[There's emotion leaking into his voice. Primarily anger, but there's sympathy and sadness mixed in. He doesn't like the prospect. Hates the idea. But frag his injuries to the pit, if it comes to it, Smokescreen shouldn't have to do it alone. Plus, it might take more than one to take the Prime down anyway.]

I don't want anyone to have to do it, Bulkhead. I can't--he--There has to be some way, Bulkhead.

[He can't bring himself to look at the camera but he's a cross between distraught and angry now, optics dimming until there's barely anything there, his vents cycling heavily.]

We can't let him go...we can't. I refuse....

[But he promised...]

[Least of all you. Even if the warrior side of him knows Smokescreen would have to learn to sooner or later.]

[He feels so pathetic and weak right now, as hard as he's trying to seem strong.]

......Alpha Trion's quadrant...by the lake.

[He sounds like he needs somebody to lean on, somebody that understands.]

[He can only really manage a nod at this point, not trusting himself to speak, unable to look at the camera once again as well.]

[He'll close the connection to focus on getting there. He doesn't trust Smokescreen to make it to his location the way he is. Bulkhead was already wandering the junkpile, so it's not too much to head for Alpha Trion's quadrant. It doesn't take him long to find Smokescreen.]

Smokescreen? [He reaches out to touch the younger bots shoulder once he gets closer.]

[After the comm cut, Smokescreen had tried to pull himself together but, in the end, had just ended up zoning out, staring out over the lake.

He barely acknowledged his scanners when they alerted him to the arrival of Bulkhead but at least he didn't startle when the other touched him right? Smokescreen didn't turn though, optics dim as he kept his gaze on the lake, absently leaning into the touch a bit.]

..Hey Bulkhead...

["Keep an eye on Smokescreen. He is still young and new to battle."

Primus, Optimus wasn't kidding. He can really see how young he is now. He stops beside him, leaving the hand, but he's welcome to lean on him if he wants. Optics watching him, sympathetic with some understanding.]

Talk to me. Keepin' it in won't help. [There's a gentle urging in his tone.]

[Oh he will keep leaning against Bulkhead, because Smokey really doesn't trust himself not to sink down to the ground at this point and act even more like a youngling by pulling his knees up to his chest and hiding his face against them.]

..I...there has to be some other way..I don't want anything to happen to him, Bulkhead. He's our Prime!

[That hand is removed so he can wrap his arm around Smokescreen's shoulders, hugging the younger bot against him. A plenty big shoulder to lean on.]

We're not gonna give up on him, till all other options are done. He wouldn't nothin' less.

[Smokescreen really doesn't hesitate to lean heavily into Bulkhead, resisting the urge to actually turn into him and just try to hide.

Because that's what sparklings and younglings do and that's not what he is.

Even if the urge is strong.]

It's...but everyone else...what if someone else tries to do something to him?

[But older more mature bots can do it too...sometimes. You're not that old yet, Smokey.

He's silent for a moment.]

If it's ta help him, then we ask them what they plan to do. If it's for other reasons, then we'll have to find a way to stop it.

But we aint alone, there's others here that'll help. Want to help.

[He sounds defeated, because he kind of is at the moment, finally turning and just kind of trying to bury himself against Bulkhead's side.]

This sucks.

[Bulkhead's feeling it too. He really is. He hates feeling like he can't do anything. Especially when it comes to their leader. It feels like they're failing him when he needs them the most. Like back when Optimus lost his memories and thought he was a con.

He's feeling the weight on his shoulders, though. He's having to take up the responsibility and come up with the plan, when he's more used to following them then he is making them. Their team is barely here, even more so with Arcee and Cliffjumper looking to be missing too.

But right now, he's trying to be the strong one for Smokescreen. They need to stick together in this, now more than ever. His own optics dimming a little in sympathy when Smokescreen turns into him, watching the expressions going over his face. He tightens his grip a little on his shoulders. His other arm coming to wrap around him too, the best that he can.]

It does, but we'll get through this. [He has to stop himself from saying they've made it through worse. But he's not sure if anything could be worst then this. What's worse than potentially having to kill your own leader? Or...being attacked or killed by said leader.] We just need to stick together and come up with a plan of how to handle this.
