[Video] Track 07
[The video boots up to show Miko sitting relaxed on a berth.]
Hey, I thought about this, and I think it's only fair that I get the chance to explain to the people who are expected to vote about keeping me on the committee or not about me and why I applied.
For those that don't know I'm Miko. On my Earth I was living in America as an exchange student. What this means for those who don't know about it is I don't come from America, one of the countries on my Earth, I come from Japan, I was staying in America to learn about a different country and way of living. To get over there I had to do a lot of paperwork and learn a lot of things about why I had to do some stuff and couldn't do other things.
My parents wanted me to go to a different town than I went to so I had to do most of the stuff myself, no help from my family and only a little help from the office people where I had to turn in my information.
[She sits up a bit, looking a little more respectable.]
I may not be an adult my human standards, and I may have a lot of growing left to do, but that doesn't mean I'm not worth hearing just because I'm not there yet. I shouldn't have any less of a voice here than any one else, regardless of my age.
Honestly humans never stop growing, even adults are learning and changing, improving all of the time. I know I'm not an adult, and I know I may have crazy ideas or say things that aren't always smart, but I'm willing to admit it when it happens. I don't think I'm a grown up for being on the committee, I just think I'm getting the chance to help the place I'm living in.
There are probably some who won't think any different about me even with this, and there may be some who do, I can't make anyone do anything, but I'm asking you to give me a chance to prove that while I may not be an adult yet, I can still do powerful things.

[Wow, does he ever sound like a proud parent over the feed. He gives Miko a thumbs up and a grin.]
Thanks, I figure I should just give up without some kind of fight.

Considering that myself and two others, one just a year older and the other a couple years younger, back home are some of the only people to know that we have Cybertronians on Earth, I'd say my perspective might be worth hearing, don't you?
I think it'd just fine if you shadowed the other committee members, learned from them, maybe even offered a thought or two. But as an active member in a demanding position, no, I don't think you're right at all.
I am impressed with this more thought out, mature response. But my opinion remains the same.
You've got what it takes, kid. Just take it one step at a time.
I disagree with you, I think that just sitting in the back seat while things are moving along in a world like this isn't ever going to be an effective place to be, and there isn't anything saying when the limit of what is preventing me from being suitable is met so a position as a junior member or a shadow for the others may never change into a full position depending on the intent and reasoning of those that made the requirements if we say that those under a certain age or experience are allowed on the committee.
I don't expect to be the only one making decisions, and while I've been hotheaded in the past... that was only with myself at any risk, if it effects others I'm not going to rush in blind, so I do plan on working with my fellow committee members, if I do get to be on.
You have a right to your opinion though, and I'm glad you at least listened and aren't discounting me completely due to any of it.
Re: [video]
Shadowing, following, listening, taking notes - that's not taking a back seat. That's, well, learning. That's usually what people do before they go into such careers as these. It'd be good to get a feel of the people, how this system works, how things are taken care of, before you decide to take everything head on. You may have experience on your Earth, but this place is a whole new ball game. For you, and for me.
[sigh] Most of my reasons aside, I just think you may be biting off more than you can shew. [No, not really 'may', it IS to him haha.]

Why wouldn't they want you on the law committee?
[At Hinata's age, she's gone up against some serious stuff, already. And she's not even a full-fledged chunin yet!]
[voice]
Some people seem to think that my age means that I won't make a good member of the law committee. I'm sure they each have their own worries or issues about it, but what I understand it comes down to is I'm too young to be responsible for things that could effect others like being a part of the law committee.

Perhaps something like an apprenticeship will be better suited for you, or any other inexperienced youth, and you can work your way up from there.
no subject
If we did that who would have control of saying when that person has enough experience? The same people who approved me to join the committee to begin with?
