[Near the northern tip of the Haven, a visitor began to noiselessly pass into the valley of Megatronus' quadrant. While it did have the machinery to stay aloft, it was less a jet and more a flying frame tightly built around a large cannon - a gunship of sorts, and one of alien make. Fixed to it's underside was a box. Just a dull box. Any superficial decoration had been removed.]

[Upon reaching the different abodes of the quadrant, it lowered to a hover, engines still silent. The package was deposited onto the ground, and the craft banked to the left before changing back. Looks like it- now a he, was waiting for someone.]

[For once in far too long Shockwave wandered out from his room for reasons not being fighting nor science. No. Instead it was for being social idle. As though there was time for such things. A package was tucked under his arm and it didn't take too long for him to find what he was looking for. Shockwaves had a look and it wasn't exactly a hard look to spot.

But oh he was tiny like the previous alternate of his. And again not nearly as fitted for battle.

And so. The approach begins.]

[One could say that the ambient temperature dropped a little from the coldness of both stares. He was poised next to the larger box, not bothering to hold it simply out of convenience.]

[Despite being the shorter of the two, he didn't appear to be intimidated by size as the distance closed between them. In fact, there was barely any reaction at all, save for him making eye contact. He wasn't here to play petty games, he was here to get his patch and go home.]

[Had this other Shockwave been intimidated it would not have been marked well. That was not a thing Shockwave did, and not of other Shockwaves - most certainly not.

Shockwave stands before his alternate, staring at him silently, his gaze only moving to glance at the box on the ground for no more than a second. Within a few moments the ground rumbles and the box is pulled into a newly formed hole in the ground.

He holds out the box meant for his alternate.]

What is it?

[Just brief small talk. He was curious just what the device within the box he was handing over did.]

[Shockwave feels the ground tremble beneath his feet - that must have been the other's... 'pet'. He gives the hole a cursory glance as it is formed, before fixing on the package as it was extended forward.

His remaining hand reaches out to retrieve it, dropping the actual container to the ground to reveal the actual item - a coiled black cable inside.]

It is part of a procedure used to extract information from prisoners.

[Interesting. Cabling to extract information, and cabling not attached to another Cybertronian or fauna. A safer way perhaps, or simply something to utilize across the faction when those of correct rank were not around to extract the data themselves.]

How does this procedure work?

they need an architect, a forger, a chemist...

The neural nets of the extractor and the prisoner are linked together. The extractor downloads their consciousness into the host mind and acquires the desired data.

[Naturally, this would require quite a bit of mental training to do properly, but the physical process itself was fairly simple.]

A medical officer oversees the participant's bodies and keeps them stabilized.

[In the standard procedure, anyway.]

So you do not posses your own cabling for such matters?

[If it required the prisoner to be hooked up to another and not simply a computer, it was likely. Interesting.]

Should you ever find one to use it on, I wish to witness the procedure.

[More could have been explained on the reasoning for the device's creation and it's mechanics, but that would draw out the conversation more than it needs to be. A topic for another time.]

[There's a thoughtful pause as he reflects on the offer, as the procedure would obviously be frowned upon if it got out into open. It also left the two participants rather exposed. Nonetheless, he was intrigued enough by his alternate self to consider it if the circumstances are right.]
