[Video] - transmission from... is that one of the moons??
[Have a view of Jetfire sitting on the ground... on what's probably not Cybertron, because the sky above and beyond the large jet is the stark black of a planetary body without an atmosphere... or a neglient such.
Which means when he starts speaking, it's actually his comm patched to the Link. The thing is...]

[WELL THAT SURE WASN'T TRANSLATED, GUYS. Apparently someone forgot they're out of easy reach for the link to work perfectly, and the transmission is actually cut...
Until a while later, when it pops back again, and this time Jetfire, looking slightly exasperated, is apparently close enough to Haven, because...]
It seems I... ah, forgot the Link doesn't have infinite reach. As I had intended to ask... A question for anyone who is human or has been to Earth and have reasonable understanding of human culture... What does it mean if you give someone a heart?
((ooc: Translated from what's in the image there; "A question... for anyone that's a human or has been to Earth. What is the particular meaning of gifting someone a heart?" So basically the same.))

[Text]
Because getting an actual human heart from someone is... disturbing.
[video]
[Jetfire frowns a bit, uncertain how that thing could equate to a heart at all. Though maybe he can see some similarity. Vague ones.]
[Text]
That's what it means in the human cultures it exists in.
[Video]
[He might be amused, because he wonders how much Starscream was aware of this.]
[video]
funny, that.]
It's...romantic, mostly.
[video]
wait. Frowning, Jetfire replays what he's just said, and realised it's lacked that faint difference of translation. As in, the automatic, unnoticeable translation the Link provides, as he's only understanding what Raf just said because Starscream's shared English files.
So that would mean...]
Interesting. A heart seems a bit of a... curious symbol.
[Jetfire's helm tilts, a slight purse to his lips, free to do it since he's broadcasting via comm. Lack of air makes it hard to speak after all.]
What's more curious, however... Raf, I just realised I forgot the Link doesn't work properly far away from Haven.
How are you even understanding what I'm saying?
[Little child, how do you know cybertronian??]
[video]
[...he trails off, thinking. that...]
...huh.
[video]
Indeed. I'm only understanding you presently because we can all adapt, but that takes time... Starscream supplied me with files for English at an earlier time, however.
You have had anything like this happen before?
[video]
...I really don't know. [8|a]

Re: [video]
video;
Is that a moon?
Uh. A-and I think, with humans, giving someone a heart means they... they like you. Unless it's a real heart, in which case it means they're crazy and probably have a knife, and you should call the police.
[See: Why Vehicons Shouldn't Watch Slasher Movies]
video;
[And it's such a delight to be able to do it all properly!]
... Er, well. It wasn't a real heart, but it was an... ah, anatomically correct carving of a human heart in other materials.
[Other materials like pieces from the terrorpedes. Is this more or less reassuring?]
video;
[Either way, he finds it super-cool.]
Oh. Well, I think that means they like you, then. Especially since they spent the time carving it to give to you, and all. That takes some work.
video;
[Jetfire suddenly smiles, honest, if amused.]
Indeed. There's quite a lot of talent behind it. It was well-done, even if the materials are sometimes less than... ah, suitable.
video;
[Fracas tips his head a little a nods.]
Definitely a lot of talent. I haven't really seen human hearts, just drawings, but they seem really complicated. Especially for someone to make. Especially out of weird materials.
[Oh Fracas, if you only knew...]

[If only for ornery curiosity's sake.]

[And now that they work properly, he's ever so pleased at being able to escape near orbit.]
[video]
Usually, this is a sign of affection. Sometimes platonic, sometimes romantic. Of course, these hearts are not real hearts. Otherwise that would be insane, murder, or suicide.
If someone gave you a real heart... I think you should consider speaking with the police.
[video]
No, it wasn't a real heart. It was a... er, carving. Anatomically correct, but grossly out of size for a proper human human heart.
[Just... made from terrorpede parts.]
[video]
Maybe this is some sort of attempt to be romantic. Just... Well, they tried.
[video]
He's well aware of human anatomy, at least insofar what it looks like, I'd guess, since he's been on Earth for years.
And I doubt he... er, had any exact idea of what a heart in that situation exactly signified, just that it was a gift usually given... Even if he decided to go the realistic route.
[Jetfire smiles, a dry, lopsided thing. Sincerely meant, with Starscream's own flair.]

Knock Out nooooo
Well, if that's true, he might have had better luck if he asked with a cultural reference I would have understood.
[So bland, as he says it, though there's a tiny quirk to the corner of his lips.]
Shhh, you love it!
[Knock Out is amused too, even if trying to maintain a poker face.]

[Jetfire just shook his helm, tiny smile still in place.]
It doesn't really matter for the conversation, but I doubt it'd be too hard to figure out, Knock Out.
[Given that you came wandering down to the energon pools and all.]
