All right, I won't ask the obvious.  I can guess well enough what's happened - the widespread metamorphoses finally caught up with me.  I do have one question, though.

[He lifts a four-digit paw, studying the long, curving, ultra-sharp talons - a thick, muscular tail thumping in irritation on the ground behind him - before he turns back to the camera.]

Can someone tell me what in the smelting fires of the Pit this body is supposed to be?  It seems confused between an bird and a . . . I think a cat of some sort.  [grumbles]  And I want my wings back.  My wings, not these...filament-covered...appendages.  [Said "appendages" ruffle and flutter in reaction.]

First-forged, with all due respect, I hope an answer to all this nonsense is coming.  Soon.

[He reaches to turn off his comm, but . . . long talons are ill-equiped to press buttons without either slipping off to either side between keys or scratching and trying to poke through the target key.  Finally, though, he manages.]

What is it with you humans thinking only organics are "people"? It's not affected the acolyte drones that I'm aware of, or the First-forged, but otherwise, yes, all the "people" of Haven seem to be susceptible, organics and regardless of species.

Where I come from, the term "human" can be thrown around rather loosely.

I don't come from a planet where sapient giant robots are part of the fauna. It's taking some adjustment. If this species shuffle is affecting everyone, that's certainly not helping.

Yeah, this whole mess is confusing even if you've been here a while. I take it you're new?

Been here a while, trying to observe the place from a step or two back. I'm not one for socialization.

Mmm, I really wasn't before coming here either. But . . . it helps to have a few people you know you can count on. Unfortunately, that takes getting out and meeting and getting to know people.

[He's not be sarcastic – that really was one of the hardest things for him when he first got here.]
