[It's the dead of night, Mirage. Why aren't you asleep?

Well, to be honest, sleep hasn't come easy for the bot in quite some time. And with Sideswipe now rooming with him, he's found himself lying and staring up at the ceiling more often than not. It...wasn't a happy time, to say the least.

He's..had a couple things on his mind, too.

Leaving a note for the silver bot, he exits the Vectorian temple to get some air...and maybe some space. He didn't want Sideswipe hearing part of what he was about to broadcast.]

...Does anyone have ideas on how to fall asleep? I cannot seem to rest my optics tonight.

[Or other nights, but he'd rather not worry anyone. Unfortunately, Mirage's fatigue is slightly showing.]

[Silence fills the other end of the feed. Those parts were true. It was still taking Mirage one step forward and two steps back to convince Sideswipe how this world worked.

Sometimes they have to hurt before they can dragged into enlightenment. The question is, are you willing to do that? Because if not...

[Hearing 'Bumblebee' and 'Allspark' that close together makes Barricade's engine rev briefly, before he can stifle it.]

[It's a heavy question. One Mirage honestly can't answer right away. His intakes hitch a moment, plating shivering as he mulls it over.]

I don't know what you expect him to tell you.

But if you can't handle it, the thought of one of them being hurt or distrusting you, then you can't. That's all there is to it.

[It doesn't take long for Mirage to transform and roll out, speeding towards the Solian sector. Maybe it was a way to relieve the stress, pushing your engine so much. To feel the wind whip past the windshield...to feel the tires screech during a turn.

High velocity was... exhilarating.

And he'll just sit there parked until Barricade shows up.]

[Barricade doesn't have far to go to get there, shifting to vehicle mode once he's outside of the Temple, and then heading through the quadrant to the designated area. It gives him the chance to blank his mind out and just drive. To be his tires bumping along uneven ground and his suspension jolting when he hits particularly rough patches.

He slows as he approaches Mirage. He doesn't bother to announce his presence, simply sliding up beside him.]

[When Barricade approaches, Mirage's headlights flicker lightly. He knows you're there, polizia.]

Still within my ETA~ I don't always rush it.

[Unless it's a race or to get to a patient he doesn't usually gun his engine up. That's how you end up running rollbar-first into a freeway pillar.]

[Mirage's engine hums, rather amused at this.]

[Barricade chuckles, engine revving in time to the sound.]

Me letting to completely is dangerous, Stallion~ But the last time I did a bit in this mode was a race a while back.

[It was nice, talking like this. Even if it was with someone he would have poured blaster fire into at one point in his life.]

[To be truthful, Barricade still expects blaster fire. But he's learned to take company as he gets it... and Mirage is hardly bad company.]

Aww, I think that's almost flatterin'.

Mm. As I recall, third place. But I spent the race keeping someone else from winning, which was my goal.

[Were Mirage in a less complex crisis, it'd be a thing.]
