[VIDEO] Welcome Back?
[He's been here before. At least, that is what the Acolyte that greeted his arrival informed him, warning him that some of the "other refugees" might assume some level of familiarity with him. Past friendships forged, previous alliances made, beings encountered...]
[Perceptor remembers none of it.]
[His expression as he regards the Link is calm and inscrutable, though, despite how unsettling it is to find that his memories, if they were even his own memories, are... altered. Or missing. Or incomplete. Something.]
Do I have a laboratory here?
[Why beat around the bush, as Verity would have said. Well, she might have added a few... choice terms, perhaps, but, still. The sentiment remains.]

[Well.... slag. So much for that.]
Interesting. Perhaps the retention of memories, or lack thereof, may also depend upon the method or specific instances of a particular timeline, reality, or even individual?
We need more data.
[Shhh, look at it like this; it's exciting instead! Other versions and all that.]
Which only time may give, and while it would probably be useful data in the attempts to bring people home in a controlled and desired fashion, since they'd rely on people coming and going, I'm unsure if that data should be... ah, wished for to be available.
[Jetfire shakes his helm, the frown gone for the moment to be replaced by a dry smile.]
A good point. Have you done much work toward determining a means of returning to your origination point?
[He shrugs slightly.]
While I now have modifications that has rectified this issue, the first test wasn't lacking in problems of its own as when I was supposed to take a reading of the Lambda, the modifications malfunctioned and I was teleported to another planet.
After that, I'd surmise the greatest issue will be calculating some form of average of the Lambda's energy output and the variances... [Jetfire frowns, rubbing the lower half of his faceplates.] Nothing to say about the fact that any spacebridge or transwarp technology wouldn't just have to make allowances and equations for jumping in-universe, but through other realities as well... and we need a way to pinpoint the exact realities everybody comes from.
[Interesting, and the intense glow and narrowed expression reveals that, but not the least bit simple.]
[Perceptor's gaze seems to unfocus as he ponders Jetfire's explanation. He nods sharply once.]
As well as their various temporal discrepancies, even within the same reality. It wouldn't do to return someone to a time long after or before their departure, after all.
[Jetfire tilts his helm thoughtfully at that.]
Perhaps, though I would hazard to say that as long as we'd send people through alone, the reality itself would want to establish the proper space-time relationship between the individual and their universe.
Of course, it might not be that easy.
And if nothing else, I'm sure we can get the Firstforged who has some affinity with time-space to assist with suggestions or advice, if nothing else.
Unless, of course, they have no real intention of sending us away.
[He sabotaged Kup; he's expecting someone to double-cross them all.]
Since, no matter what, we can do more damage by staying but deciding to work against them than them letting us leave if we can and want to. I'm quite sure intentionally or unintentionally wandering into the Badlands isn't the only way to align yourself with the force aimed against us.
[Anyone who got really pissed and didn't just want to leave did, obviously, have some leverage in making a big, damaging splash in the Haven or anywhere else on Cybertron, after all.]
Of course, there is always an easy way to deal with dissenters.
Badlands. Tell me more about these badlands.
[So dry.]
Well, from the individuals that have wandered into the nearest extension of the main area of the Badlands and have returned, loss of reason, control of your frame or body and possibly hallucinations could be inferred. All who return either don't remember or do not wish to speak of their stay...
Anyone without a Glyph is drawn to the Badlands, after or before attacking anything with a Glyph. Sentient beings who come through the Lambda without a Glyph suffers slow descent into madness and a desire to harm or destroy anything close-by.
[Jetfire shrugs slightly, frowning as he thinks back the unpleasant business of the Glyphless.]
