The Firstforged claim they're some kind of gods. What an exaggeration that is.
[Thank you, Kagerou. And don't you sound bitter today. Granted, he's been bitter about all this since Perceptor vanished... but recently, everything has sort of come to a head. He can't keep it down anymore.]
They want us to build. They want us to run their world, and behave like peaceable little children.
And what do we get in return?
Murdered. Lied to. Misdirected. Our work ruined. Criminals running amok. Empty promises.
[As he says the last words, his fingers clench around his arm, around the Glyph.]
They want us to trust them -- but these Firstforged are nothing like they say they are. They tell us they can't control who leaves and who stays, but, then they turn around and tell us we're safe with their markings! They don't care one bit, what happens to us! If they did...
[If they did, I would be able to do what I was promised I could...]
[His hand lifts, revealing the very elaborate, intricate Glyph -- his status is showing, and boy does he look unhappy about it.]
If their reward for our service is loss and death, I would rather not have their mark at all!

[Barricade briefly pinches the bridge of his nose before he continues, voice quiet.]
It probably doesn't matter to you, but I've been in dimensional hubs like this before. People vanished in those too, people I was close to. More than I could count. More than I'd want to count. I might try to blame someone for it but in the end it's no one fault. It just... happens, and it hurts, but there's no way to stop it, or fix it.
Maybe the FirstForged realize this and don't want us to fall into dispair over it or go looking for answers that don't exist, or maybe they don't realize it.
But it's not their fault.
video;
No, you're right. It doesn't matter. They told me I could keep them safe, and they lied.
Yes, it is! Don't defend them!
video;
Keep them safe from what? The thing that's trying to destroy us - and this world - and will go to any lengths to do that?
No it's not. They didn't bring us here, but they do what they can to keep us intact. I've known a lot of folks in their positions that wouldn't even go that far.
video;
From being killed, from being taken... Everything!
[And, being the naive little bird he is, he believed it.]
No, they're not! If they were, they wouldn't release murderers or... let monsters in.
video;
Not everything can be stopped, even with the greatest power in every dimension. If it could, don't you think the rest of us would save everyone we care about from everything that happens?
They are looking out for their people, the exact same as you're trying to do. And they still reserve the right to punish their people for transgressions. As for the monsters... do you expect them to solve every problem? This is supposed to be our home, even temporarily, and where I'm from that means defending it, whether anyone else steps up or not.
video;
But. You're not... we're not like them. Why can't they stop this, if they're looking out for their people?
It's not my home! They didn't punish Overlord, they let him go. What's going to stop them from doing that again! You can't tell me he didn't deserve to be punished.
video;
They look out for their people, but they aren't all-powerful or infallible and never claimed to be. If yours did or promised you'd be able to save everyone every time, they were wrong to do so.
No one should make claims like that.
They didn't let him go. Megatronus let him go. Most of them - from what I've heard - have a little more faith in what the Police Force does than he does. Yes, Overlord deserved punishment. But if refugees are going to be the ones to do it we have to negotiate a little, whether we like it or not.
