[It'd been a month since Magnus left.

The commander had been gone that long before, and Wheeljack almost expected the same this time around. So...when that time rolled around, and still no Magnus after constantly searching the feed...

It was time to call it quits.

The feed opens up to show a room-...or what's left of one. The walls are cracked, scorched, bent, or indented in some places, although that seems to be the most of the damage. The berth is relatively untouched, and any of Miko's and Bulkhead's belongings are actually safe from damage. Wheeljack's own stuff? a different story. Only one thing of Wheeljack's was left untouched--the sword Blurr gave him--which was put under the bed weeks prior.

Sounds like someone had a tantrum, and it shows, with Wheeljack standing in the center of the room, panting heavily from all the lashing out...at the wall.

...Do you feel better now, princess?]

Ngh...

[He slumps against the wall, sinking to the ground and curling up.

...Just like old times.]

[His head turns towards the feed. ..Must have turned on during the excitement. He doesn't reach for it just yet, just giving a shrug and looking up.]

What's it look like I did? Beat the scrap out of some metal walls.

Did the walls do something to you?

[She stares at him with a 'Really?' sort of look, frowning just a bit as she tries not to look worried about him.

Because that would mean she cared.]

They broke my hand.

[...WELL, that was when you were human, and you were an idiot then too.]

[He sighs.]

That big, blue bot. The one I talked to about you. Remember him?

[She rolls her eyes before thinking for a second.

Oh. Right.]

You mean when you didn't remember my name?

[Lyra stops and stares for a long moment before her expression goes from pissy little kid to understanding.]

...He your friend?

[She crosses her arms, still looking worried.]

[She says it softly, completely understanding what he's going through.]

[Wheeljack's silent a moment, nudging metal shards around idly.]

Sometimes, ya tell yourself you're alright enough, you start to believe it.

Ain't right though. Keep believing the wrong things and it'll just get worse and worse. You shouldn't do that, Wheeljack.

[Her tone is slightly scolding but the worry is still there, Lyra looking thoughtful momentarily.]

I miss people too. I had this friend--his name was Roger--he...my father...killed him...used him to open the window that I came through to get here.

[She shakes her head, taking a shaky breath before she's okay. She's collected and okay.]

I ain't gonna forget Roger though, because then who would remember him? He's important to me so I can't forget and you shouldn't forget whoever you lost either.

...Your father, huh? The guy I supposedly looked like?

[That's going to be a story for another occasion.]

What, you're not angry at him? That he killed your friend?

...I was, yeah, really mad. I wanted to hit him and yell at him for what he did because Roger was--he was my best friend. He only got nabbed by the Gobblers because of me.

[Lyra looks down.]

But now I just want to know why. Why'd he do it? Why was it so important. I don't care about anything else--why he left me at the college and stuff like that. I just ain't sure why he killed Roger.

I don't blame ya, kid. That was me, I would have just gone to the hitting.

[If anyone killed Bulk, no matter WHAT...]

Take it your dad wasn't a guy who was around very much.

[She says it almost fondly before she's shaking her head, scoffing a bit.]

He and my mother both left me. But it's better that way. I don't need them. I have a better family.

[A pause and then she's glaring some.]</small. Oye, we're supposed to be talking about you, jerk.

[He listens, glad to get his mind focused on something else, if even for a few minutes.]

There's not much to tell about me, kid. Other than war stories and the fact that this isn't the first one I've lost.

You were in a war?

[That changes her mood a bit, her expression sobering some.]

I sorta was too. I ain't a fan of it...at all.

You? No wonder ya like goin' it alone.

[Wheeljack's the same way.]

I had others I traveled with..but they were different. And I liked that.

...Yeah? How so?

Ain't big on listening to what the people in control have to say. They live life the way we all should. I like 'em. A lot.

[Look at that, Lyra. Wheeljack looks almost PROUD of you.]
