Old habits never die, do they?

Death, torture, conspiracies ... ideas a lot of us remember from our own universes. Many of us have been fighting and killing one another for millions of years, and it really is hard to stop, isn't it?

Hard to let go of the hate, the anger. Just forgive and forget? Too simple. We can't stop remembering -- the pain, distrust, loss, the way our conflicts have ripped planets apart. We may cease for a little while, but then it starts right back up again ... like an endless cycle.

You've already seen the speech from Megatron, and was inpsiring, wasn't it? I'll never deny that Megatron was a great speaker, it's why a lot of us originally joined him -- a version of him, anyway. I remember the rallies and crowds drawn to hear them.

But I also remember the planet being ripped apart by our endless bloodshed.

Are we going to destroy this planet too?

We need to band together and work towards a new future -- for all of us. But for a unified government, we need a leader, elected not through false promises or force but because it's what we all want.

I will officially make this my statement of running for Overseer. This election will be open to everyone to be involved. As I know some of your feelings towards who or what I am, I welcome anyone else to run as well, just as long you do not insist on destroying this planet from the inside.

That's all I ask.

That you're capable of doing it? No, I don't. But I also happen to know you. And there are suddenly a few Megatrons present, which will complicate matters.

Not even necessarily in that Starscream would actually listen to them, but if he could keep the urge not to get involved most than necessarily. And then there was that thing with Tarn and Chromedome...]

But the number of neutrals, organics, and Autobots out number the Decepticons who'll follow the Megatrons -- which, unless they all band together, will make even smaller teams.

My odds against them are remarkably high.

[Let him just... continue with that dry stare. Also, stop it with the implied null ray threats. >8(]

Whether your intentions and actions lead to good for more than you or not... [Jetfire waved a hand and shook his helm. Which they undoubtedly could, Starscream wasn't incompetent and did know the value in giving people what they wanted to some degree, but that didn't mean they weren't for him.]

Point. But using our Megatron to infer some possibilities, unless they're completely different, the potential complications doesn't just come from military might, and you know it.

[He shook his helm then, frowning a little as he looked at Starscream.]

True, but I don't think death is the only threat or influence they can wield, even if it might be the preferable one to them.

[Starscream smirked and leans back in his seat.]

I figure, as long as I have the bigger guy on my side, I don't have to worry.

And the Firstforged do seem to extend some measure of protection to their glyphed, whether or not the conflict is between us... ah, refugees or against the creatures of the Badlands.

[He has to concede that much, at least.]

As long as you know what you're doing. You do know this wouldn't be the same as leading a faction in war, right?

[Jetfire passes Starscream, merely reaching out to brush a few fingers along the nearest wing before he sits down on the berth, giving the Seeker a dry look. And even with that, well. It's Starscream.]

[Starscream lifts his shoulders into a shrug as Jetfire passes.]
