[someone's been busy in the junkpile as well. He's got a human sized table... sort of. One that's on the ground, at which he's kneeling. And he's got... stuff... on the table. He is, as usual, idly shuffling his cards.]

Well, well. When beasties aren't attacking the place, it can get downright dull around here, hmm? I mean, one can explore, of course, but that gets rather lonely; and one can garden as well, if one is human, but when all the chores have been done, what's there to do?

[he gestures to the stuff on the table. It... looks like a bunch of games. A lot are pretty beat up -- he did pull them out of the junkyard -- and with a few it looks like he's cobbled together extra pieces from spare parts. It looks like he currently has Yahtzee, backgammon, a whole bunch of dice, several decks of cards, what looks like a truly ancient Senet board, parcheesi, and checkers. And then... some odder ones. For instance, for some reason there is a Lord of the Rings Monopoly board. And then... Settles of Catan and... something called Pixel Lincoln.. It looks like he may have gathered even MORE in the background.]

A few weeks worth of work. But they're here for the taking, and I'm always up for a game of any sort. And yet, still no chessboard.

Beyond that... if you're not the sort for games, I've a little skill at fortune-telling with the cards. You can ask me any question you like and I'll try to give you an answer.

[ooc: so yeah, board game collection. I figure most games can be handwaved; Luxord will usually win at most games unless a character is spectacularly good in canon, or a supercomputer. I, the mun, am pretty good at some but terrible at others. I think there's online versions of a lot of these if we wanted to be really silly?

AS FOR CARD READINGS: I will do IN CHARACTER tarot card readings for people! I am still working out the system I want to use (developing a unique one for Luxord) and reading tags will be very, very slow. I will be using actual cards, and winging it. Luxord's got no magical fortune telling abilities or way to know the future, he just does it for the lulz... unless you WANT him to accidentally happen to draw a card that has a particular bearing on your character's life? ]

Yes, that'd be lovely. I think I've got the basics. And as for your fortune, the best idea is to think of a question of some sort. It can be something general, a generic "advise me on my current situation" or something a bit more specific. No yes or no questions, though, and the key idea is about how you yourself should behave in a more general sense.

[Korra began to consider. Her first thought was 'how to get home?' but that didn't really make sense in this case. If Luxord knew, he'd be gone by now, wouldn't he? No, Luxord wouldn't know anything about that. What to ask--maybe seek out advice for what to do when (if) she got back.]

--uh. There's this guy. Tall, dark and scary. But he seems to want equality, which is supposed to be a good thing. He says there's this oppression going on, but I never really saw it. But then I'm part of the group he says is doing all the oppressing and getting all the advantages? So I guess I wouldn't be able to really see...and there was some stuff I saw that started to gel with what he was saying...so, ah, what do you think I should do? With that?

What you're saying is, you come from a privileged class, and you've encountered a gentleman who states that your class is oppressing those of lesser privilege. At first, you didn't believe him, but now you've seen some things that have caused you to question your previous faith. The man, from what you've said, seems to be a terrorist, and yet you've begun to wonder if he has a point... and you aren't certain of what to do.

[he shuffles the cards]

I suppose the best spread for you may be the Path, which is a spread that tells what path you should take.

[He draws seven cards, and then lays two columns of three, with one card at the top, like a forked path]

The top card sets the overall tone of the situation, the place from which you stand. The left cards are the past, where you've come from, whilst the right are the future, where you should consider going. The first pair are your conscious level, how you've thought about the situation and how you should think about the situation, the second set is your subconscious feelings and your emotions, and the third are how you've presented yourself thus far. Let's begin.

The first card, the heart of the matter, the Eight of Cups. The Eight of Cups is a card of journeys, but of specifically leaving familiar shores with a heavy heart. You've taken on a long journey far from home of your own choice, but you've given up much, and you're uncertain of where your journey is taking you.

On a deeper level, this suggests that you need to give up past prejuduces and our familiar notions, and move on to newer horizons. It will be very difficult, and even terrifying to have to let go of these previous perceptions, but it is a necessary evil.

The second card, your past and current thoughts on the matter. This is the Nine of Coins. Thus far, you've felt that your way is best, and you've been very self-reliant, believing that your path is the ideal and that you can handle this all by yourself. There's an element of balance and self-discipline here as well.

The card across from this, Position 7, is how you should think in the future. In this case, the card is Justice. You need to carefully weigh all sides of the issue, and realize that your perspective is not the only perspective, and maybe not the only right perspective. You need to take responsibility for your actions, including actions you may have taken that may have caused others pain. But if you bear that responsibility and act with fairness, taking in all those many perspectives, you should be able to do what's right in the end.

Now, the cards that represent your unconscious self, your feelings on the matter. In the past, we have The Emperor. Inwardly, you feel yourself to be a leader, and thus far you've taken charge. You're also convinced your way is the right way... but you may be a little too inflexible nad stubborn. Given how the first card was the Eight of Coins, you may need to become more flexible and re-examine your previous attitudes towards the situation.

Across from that... the Three of Swords. ... oh dear.

[He pauses. the Three of Swords is NEVER good, one of the worst cards in the deck. ]

Something terrible is going to happen to you in the future. Your stubbornness is going to cost you dearly, and your entire worldview will be broken, as will your heart and your will. This isn't to say you can't recover; you can and you will, if you take heart, but the fact remains that you'll be hurt.

Now, the last two cards are how you've been behaving outwardly, and how you should behave outwardly. In the past and currently, we have the Ace of Wands. You've shown others that you're willing to take risks and that you have no doubts about your current path... but you've also given the impression of being very rash and impatient. I get the feeling that you're the type to show your heart on your sleeve, so this is likely true of your true self as well.

And now, the last position. Though you could afford to appear more patient, at the same time, you're going to have to show that you can move quickly and decisively. Time is going to be of the essence.

Overall...

This situation has caused significant upheaval for you. You're far away from everything you find familiar, and you don't know what the future will bring; this has put you in an uncertain position. While thus far you've displayed self confidance and self-assuredness, you've also come off as impatient and rash. Does it help if I try to stop and think about what I'm doing, or gonna do? And see if I can do something different from that?

(OOC: Love your ideas on how LoK should've gone. It's just--I think LoK had a lot of potential, and then it didn't really go where I wanted it to go, or even in a good storytelling way. And now I RP and fic LoK XD)

That's generally a good way to go about it. Another excellent idea is to think about how others might feel about your actions.
