[Once everything has died down, no pun intended, Kagerou figures he may as well say something. The video feed clicks on to show the bird sitting against a wall in what is more than likely the medbay -- and though he is pretty beaten up, he doesn't appear to actually need to be in the medbay. Nothing is leaking and all his limbs are attached.]

[He stares into the video for a moment or two too long, debating what to actually say.]

... I've made the first arrest of my life. I was... part of a team, today. I felt... as if I had a place.

[He trails off -- this is huge, why don't you look happier, birdbrain?]

But it feels wrong. None of that was anything... [He shakes his head.] ... Maybe a stealth unit isn't made for combat like that.

[His visible optic flicks over to something off-screen.]

Maybe none of us BP units are.

[It ends there. Except...]

[There's not another text, not until a girl is bursting through those medbay doors (the open ones, that is) and towards Kagerou.]

I have arrived!

[HOPE NO ONE WAS SLEEPING.]

[... PJ WAS PROBABLY CONKED OUT BUT. Don't worry, he's just going to step outside the room and...]

[Pick her up. Gently as possible. And bow his head over her, holding her as near as he can.]

[She leapt into his grasph, reaching her hands out to splay across his cheek, all smiles.]

You're good at keeping promises. Or...better at it.

[Just. Give him a second, Kay. He needs a minute to stay like this.]

[After seeing all that, he just needs a moment with someone so important. Someone who's safe and unharmed...]

[And proud of him.]

I'm tired of breaking promises.

[She doesn't mind that in the least. Any kind of affection--attention given to her...she didn't mind.

And her dad came back. It was a rare pattern for her. Kagerou was her dad who ressurrected himself...and stayed.]

That makes me really happy, you know?

That promise remains in effect forever, you know.

[He'll keep her right there, then. Part of him wishes... this were like it was when he'd been human. Because that part wants nothing more than to hold tightly to someone.]

I... know that. Yes.

I'll keep my promise to you forever.

I'm convinced!

[She nestles herself inbetween his shoulder and neck, leaning into him playfully.]

[He doesn't mind it. Actually, right now, he sort of needs it.]

[This is what he was fighting for -- her safety. Her well-being. And here she is, intact.]

I don't think that's possible.

Sure it can! I got 101% on a test once.

Like...way long ago. If I can do that, you can do anything.

That's less than one hundred and fifty.

[But his tone has lightened. Just being here with her... it helps take his mind away.]

[She always has.]

But the max is 100, right? So if you can get above it even 1%, then sky's the limit!

[That smile returns to her face, full force.]
