Video;

So uhm. I'm looking for Starscream? I think I have something of his... actually a lot of somethings.

[Fracas is standing in front of aquarium... that is full of piranacons. Two of them in particular seem interested in his fingers, snapping at the glass ineffectively. He stares at them, blanching briefly.]

What are these, anyway? And why do they keep trying to bite me?

[Locked to scientists/medics/Prime cast... and Skids]

Also... Some of you know that I recently. Got new information from home. And I know some of you have been experimenting with. With a synthetic variant of energon from my world.

[The Vehicon huffs, face going visibly stoney.]

It would be better if you stop. Because this can happen.

[What follows is a video of a number of horrible terrorcons with split open jaws and suspiciously tentacly tongues, headed for the camera. There is no sound, but anyone savvy enough can probably figure out the camera operator (as it was) was Fracas.]

And if this happens, I'm going to shoot everyone involved. And I won't feel bad about it, because I am not having a zombie apocalypse here.

[....]

[Well he can't have that either.]

I still have no idea what you are talking about.

However, I will trade you them for this box I found that conveniently has your picture and I assume is yours.

To wherever the deepest lava pit you can find is.

Or the badlands.

Don't give me that kind of lip or I'll stuff your head into that tank.

Starscream... what's the connection between these things and you?

[Because obviously there is one.]

Nothing. Go back to doing whatever science thing you were doing.

I was analysing the content and percent thereof of some samples of rock, metal and ore I've gathered from the moons and a bit away from Haven, but if it really was nothing you'd have no reason to refuse or not want them.

... Even if they're admittedly odd-looking.

[Jetfire frowns and puts down one of said samples; this isn't Starscream being annoying, but rather... well, he's not sure yet.]

You really want me to have access to a tank full of metal-eating fish?
angleofscience: (wait wait - I know this)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2013-09-22 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[You had to put it that way, didn't you.]

Not... er, necessarily, no, as I'm sure you'd find something to do with them that wouldn't be agreeable. [So dryly.] But the fact that you know they consume metal means you know what they are.

[Jetfire gives Starscream a frown, but he still can't decide whether to be concerned or suspicious. Perhaps both is the best.]

Which means you've somehow have encountered them before.

They are trying to consume the faceless mech through the tank. Even you could draw a logical conclusion from that.

While them trying to get to his fingers would indicate that, it wouldn't necessarily be an attempt at eating him. But... you're right, they seem... ah, quite determined.

[He shakes his helm.]

I'm not going to push [(much) for now, anyway] but whether or not I would want you to have that tank or not, you would usually be interested.

[So Starscream's immediately declamation of the tank and its contents is... odd.]

Well, like I said, do you really want me to have it?

... I wonder if they consume organic tissue as well.
angleofscience: (ttly explaining things - confused yet?)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2013-10-02 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
If you decided to do nothing with them, but otherwise, no. So I suppose there's that.

[He'll let it go. And then he just... shakes his helm again.]

Well, I'd surmise they don't, unless their digestive systems are confugured for that, which, I suppose, might be easy to find out if someone organic volunteered to step up next to the tank...

But that presupposed they'd register organic tissue as food, whether or not they can consume it--- [Pause. Frown.] Why does it matter, anyway?

I'm thinking of stuffing one of the annoying humans into the tank just to see what happens.

Thank you Jetfire for giving me the inspiration for this new science experiment.

How about no. [Just... flat look, though it quirks a little as he continues.] If you actually want to do that, I'm sure we can find some other piece of organic non-plant matter to give to those... things.

Something might be found in the pantry that could have asmall piece spared.

Why do you always have to ruin my fun?

You could always tie the meat to a string and repeatedly yank it out before they can get to it if they do react to it as sustenance.

[Deadpan.]

Because your first reactions as to what's fun doesn't really mesh well with the health of others.

[Of course, in this case Starscream might not have meant it, but in general that would be the reason he's trying to steer away from that.]

What can I say? I'm a Decepticon. We don't care much about the "health of others."

Besides, it would be fun.

I've noticed. [Shaking his helm, Jetfire looks Starscream up and down.]

It'd be simpler to go for something already-dead and food-grade than to take someone who will be noticed as missing and missed.

Either they would go for a piece of organic meat or they wouldn't. The presence, or lack thereof, of struggling would doubtfully add anything of worth to the result.

Starscream... [It's more of a mutter than anything else as he drags a palm down his faceplates.] Not that I would condone it, but if that's what you really want, perhaps you should go search the wastelands for some critter, then.

[He doesn't even like saying it, because he shouldn't be, and he wouldn't want to know if that's what Starscream woudl end up doing.]
