Since everyone else kinda looks like they're asking if their friends are here, guess I should too.

[ that's the important part here. everything else? just a day in the life... sort of. ]

Or maybe someone's seen 'em? Riku is kinda tall with green eyes and shorter silver hair. Kairi wears pink, has kinda hair, and purple-ish eyes. [ pause ] Well Axel has red hair too, really. But he's super tall and skinny.

[ or he's just short, but. Sora hums, then just decides to go for it. ]

I dunno really how to describe the others, but I'm looking for Mickey, Donald, and Goofy too.

But yeah. That's all I can think of...

[Ventus blinks. Were they talking about the same Xehanort?]

But... Wait, what? I don't understand... He's...well he's a Keyblade Master, right? Why would he do such things?

[heartdive]

I know that he is, but that doesn't change what he's done. What he's trying to do. He needs thirteen darknesses and seven lights to fight and he's been playing us all since who knows how long.

[ just because someone has a keyblade doesn't mean he's good. ]

Darkness...and light..?

[It's like a brief flash, a piercing sensation in his mind that causes him to flinch. Ventus shakes his head, slowly bringing a hand to his head. What was it? Something about Master Xehanort...

He can't quite grasp it though; it slips from him like a fine mist.]

[heartdive]

[ so Sora just will push the topic aside for the moment. what replaces it is concern. ]

Hey... You okay?

[happyduckbutt]

...yeah, I'm...I'm fine. [He tries to sound convincing.]

[heartdive]

Sure about that? I bet one little shove might make you topple over or something.

[happyduckbutt]

[His glider vanishes completely in a bright light as he steps completely off of it. The boy himself turns, shaking his head.]

...I guess not, but I don't know why. It's like...I was reminded of something, but I can't remember exactly what.

[heartdive]

It might come back to you later. But if you don't wanna show me around, that's okay. We can do it another time.

Maybe... [But does he want it to..? Ventus looks back at Sora.]

...are you sure? I mean...well I did come up here to show you around the Haven.

[heartdive]

I'm not gonna push you if you don't feel well.

[ that's just silly. and mean. ]

[He smiles faintly.]

I can at least take you down to the Hub. It's got some places more sized for people like us, at least- including rooms to stay in if you want.

[heartdive]

That works for me. It's a start, if anything, right?

[Nodding, Ventus holds his hand out to summon his Keyblade.]

Right. And maybe you'll find Axel hanging around there too.

[heartdive]

[ so Ventus and a Keyblade... ]

You too, huh?

[ he puts his hands behind his head, just giving a little grin. ]

[happyduckbutt]

[Blink.]

Me too..? Oh- this. [He nods.] I'm not a master yet, but I'm working on it.

[With a brief grin, Ventus flings Wayward Wind skyward, and as it spins, it changes in a flash of light before it comes curving back down in the form of the glider from earlier.

He jumps on board before gesturing to Sora.]

Hop on!

[heartdive]

We just took a test to be one.

[ Sora doesn't jump on right away. He's just staring at the now glider. Suddenly it is at least 10x cooler than it had been before. No idea it could do that. As he shakes his head and hops in, the kid gives a little huff. ]

Someone needs to show me how to do that.

[happyduckbutt]

Did you pass?

[He seems eager to know, but at the same time he's a little disappointed that even he hasn't been allowed to take the test for the Mark of Mastery yet, and Sora looks about his age.

His lips quirk slightly as he watches the other Keyblade wielder eye his glider, however.]


Heh, Axel was kind of surprised to see it too. I'm guessing you don't have armor either, do you?

[heartdive]

Nah, I didn't pass. But my best friend did. That's a little more important, I think. He didn't believe he deserved it. Which he did!

[ and if it bothers him, it doesn't show. Likely because it doesn't. Now Sora doesn't know what happened to Riku in the time that they were apart but he does know that something about his friend had changed. Riku really needed to pass the exam, no doubt about that. He needed it to believe in himself again and if that meant Sora wouldn't pass, that's all right.

But back in the now, he shakes his head. ]

We don't know how to do any of that stuff. Honestly we've just kinda been winging it.

[happyduckbutt]

[Ventus blinks at that before he nods.]

That's good to know though. I'm glad for him.

[And he means that. Since Sora seems happy about it as well, there's no need to linger on the subject.]

I really didn't know either, not until I saw Terra do it. So I just figured, hey, if he could do that, then maybe I could too.

[There's a brief, wistful expression that flits across his face. Terra, are you okay out there? Ventus found himself wondering again if and how he'd be able to be there for his friend when he was stuck here.

Somehow, he tells himself. They're connected after all, just like Sora had said. He grins over his shoulder at the other boy.]

Hang on, okay?

[heartdive]

Since you figured it out, maybe you can teach me.

[ Sora just grins. Maybe he can learn and maybe he can't. Doesn't matter really.

An even though Ven says to hang on, what is there to hang into? 8| well hands are going to go to the other boy's shoulders. Good enough. ]

Maybe!

[Although truthfully, Ventus doesn't really know how he'd be able to teach him. At the very least he'd try!

And he trusts that Sora's balance should be pretty decent, so the moment he feels his hands on shoulders, the blond nods and takes them up and off!]

[heartdive]

[ well maybe not at the take off! kid's been surfing on trees, swimming with the merpeeps... but this is a little different. FUN, but different. so yeah, there is gonna be some latching on until he does work out his balance - which he will. of course. ]

[He can't help but laugh a little at that. It's nice to be able to laugh though- all too often around here things get so serious.

It's not a difficult flight down to the Haven's center, marked by the massive Junk Pile and a ways nearby, the buildings that make up the Hub. Their descent is smooth before being slowed to a stop.]

The residential wing is right over there. Axel and I have rooms right by each other, and his room isn't hard to find since he burned his name into the door.

[A grin.]

Um...that's the bar in that building, but there's some stairs for us that go to a level we can use to eat and cook things. We have a pantry, but most of what we get is either scavenged from the Junk Pile or grown in what gardens some of the others have managed to set up. Oh! And I have some chickens over by Alpha Trion's lake.

[heartdive]

[ it's good to laugh... even if it's at his expense. sort of.

not that it matters anyway. Sora's enjoying himself. he really likes flying. one of the best things he's ever been able to do, really. so being on the glider reminds him of that.

but he has to snort. Axel burning his name... ]

Didn't see that coming at all...

[ but he pays attention anyway, to where things are located. chances are that he's going to get lost once or twice. IT'S A LOT TO TAKE IN, OKOK. ]
