[Well that was the… oddest thing he’s woken up to in a while. He doesn’t usually wake up on an alter with robbed figures standing around apologizing for him being somewhere. A different Cybertron? Different how? That sounds impossible. He only waited around long enough for what they said to get boring and then he left. Now he has to figure out how to work this thingy he has. Hrm… what does this do…?]

Skylynx? Are you here, Skylynx?

[The sound of one claw tapping on the Link comes through before the video flicks on, showing bright yellow optics and a lean face crowned with horns. Those optics blink a couple times as the owner of the Link leans back slightly.]

I am trying to find my brethren, Skylynx. He is silver and blue, with red accents, and is about my height. [He pauses, snickering.] But he is not nearly as pretty as I am.

If you have seen him in his other form, I am sure you know. Tell him that Darksteel wishes to find him.
Skylynx if you hear this, I am coming to find you.

[He shuts off his Link and shortly after something that looks remarkably like a robotic gryphon can be seen flying out from Vector’s temple, in a spiral that becomes increasingly wide until it ceases all together. He can’t help it if he’s catching sight of things he’s curious about. What is all of this, he’s never seen a Cybertron like this one. His is certainly less… new than this one.]

Beasts... you have an animal mode, but no vehicle mode?

[THAT'S DIFFERENT.]

It means that human beings built me. I'm not from any Cybertron.

Yep! And the other Cybertronians have vehicle modes but no beast modes.

I have never heard of... 'human beans' before. Or of anyone not from Cybertron. So if you do not come from Cybertron... where do you come from?

[Darksteel shrugs.] It isn't. But maybe someone else would know more. I was only cloned recently.

No... I lived in a training facility, away from the world, until I was brought here.

I am a copy of a Predacon that lived before the Great Cataclysm. His bone was found and Shockwave used science to copy him, whoever he was.

So... you were kept in one place and not allowed to go anywhere else? [Dude that sounds horrible!]

A copy. You're... the second model?

Yes. Until I broke out.

I guess. I've never heard it put that way, though.

I am glad you got out. No one deserves to be locked up forever. Especially if they haven't done anything wrong.

[He shrugs, looking away a little.]

It... was all right. There was someone there I cared for. Very much. Everything was all right, so long as we were together.

Ooh, I know what prototypes are. They are the first of something new. Like Predaking was.

[He knows 'prototypes' but gets confused about 'organics'. Truly Darksteel has had the best education.

He does sober a little at that, thinking.]

I understand. Having someone you care about can make much bearable. They can make it... okay.

Yes. That's right. ... Except I don't know any "Predaking".

[Good job little chicken bear.]

He is the first cloned Predacon. If he had not been a success, Skylynx and I would not be here.

[Not that Starscream though Predaking was a success but Starscream is a meanie anyway.]

They do... and I do. If I had not had Skylynx... I do not know what I would have done.

So... he is the prototype. Like me. What happened to him?

He named and freed himself from Starscream's abuse, and then he freed Skylynx and I from the same.

He is. We look out for each other, and if he is here... I cannot leave him alone.

[What if someone tried to hurt Skylynx again?]

Abuse? From other living robots? Were you... in the war they all talk about?

[He hunches up a little, folding his wings.]

... I understand. Very much. I hope he is here, for your sake, then. Being without someone so important is hard.

A little in the war, but not for long. But when Starscream didn't approve of the job Skylynx or I were doing, he would shock us with a prod.

[Darksteel crosses his arms over his chest almost protectively. Do Not Want more shocks.]

I hope he is here too. ... The one you care for, they are not here?

He would... shock you? For not doing as he wanted? And no one stopped him?

[That's Not Okay.]

No... he -- he isn't here. [It's difficult to say, even after all this time.]

Or for doing it wrong. There was no one to stop him. Shockwave was occupied with cloning more of us.

[And when one of them stood up for the other they usually got shocked too. Not that it stopped them, stubborn babies.]

Oh. I am sorry, then. It... cannot be easy for you, being here without him. [He can't imagine how that feels.]

That isn't right. Shocking someone is... that's too much for a mistake.

[Since, for someone like him, it could pretty much put him out cold for a long time.]

[He doesn't answer that right away, though, folding his arms across his chest and shrugging, as if it were nothing.]

It isn't. It ... hurts. And it doesn't stop.

So I hope that, for your sake, your partner is here.

Predacons are tough. And Starscream will not be doing that again, to anyone. If he tries to do that to someone here he will be stopped.

[It hurt every time, but that made giving Starscream that hurt in return so much sweeter.]

As do I. I hope yours arrives; I would not wish being alone on anyone. [Especially someone that reminds him of he and his brethren. Hrm...] I know I am not one of your brethren, but should there be anything you need...

You should be careful with how you do so. The police force... they're meant to arrest those who attack unprovoked.

[He'd know. He's on the force.]

I wouldn't either... but. It's been so long. I don't know if hope is worth it anymore. [He blinks, looking startled.] But you... you barely know me.
