CONTACT 001 // VIDEO

[The manic look of someone very new to Cybertron has faded by the time Alia actually makes her call to the network, but there's still an unmistakable wide-eyed expression to her as the video feed picks up. It's probably not helped by the fact that so many of the inhabitants here so are blasted tall that she's paranoid about being stepped on.]

If there are any Maverick Hunters in the area, please respond. This is Alia. I, ah, could use some company about now.

[She taps the microphone-- decorative, thankfully-- on her headset and sighs.]

Ok, so I'll admit to being new around here. I got the orientation, but... what is there to do around here if you're not fifty feet tall?
angleofscience: (probability of this being incidental...)

Indeed.

[He smiles briefly at that, and then shakes his helm.]

It won't be impossible, no, but I believe she had to get her systems tweaked so she could use the main source of fuel here; energon. It's a very effective and efficient fuel and energy source, but so far any human-standard equipment, present day or what seems to be future from what little I've seen of the Earth in my reality, can handle energon without some changes.

And a fresh viewpoint certainly wouldn't be unwelcome, especially if you have any familiarity with working with pure energy and multiple states of such... multiple realities is something new to us all, however, I believe.

You may want to consult with a medic, even if they're cybertronian they may be able to assist... And if they gain some knowledge of your workings, if you're willing to share that, they can lend assistance later if you get injured.

But besides that, I'm sure we can find or make whatever equipment or devices you need to make said modifications.

[Rubbing his chin, Jetfire tilts his helm.]

I can certainly share what I have so far, and hopefully it'll make sense to you. If not, I'm willing to try and help you make sense of it, but it does sound like you have some solid knowledge to build on and might not need much further assistance.
angleofscience: (talking - science is relevant)

There is that. [There's a brief smile.] I think there's quite a few who wish they could do all repairs on themselves, for various reasons, and end up having to accept assistance when they lose something like an arm.

[Or are more terribly injured than that and can't really do anything for themselves.]

Hmm. Let me send over what I have so far, which is, unfortunately, less than I'd want.

[Which is mostly some prelimimary research and observation on the instability of the energies of the Lambda, and some theories on how said space-time anomaly being connected to several realities at once could both contribute to the instability and how it might affect using the Lambda as an anchor for travel to their homes.]

We do also have methods of almost instant long-distance travel, similar to teleporting, but that is more information than could be easily sent over the Link, so it should probably be handed over in a more easy format.
angleofscience: (smile - patience is a virtue after all)

Somewhat yes. Unfortunately there comes a point when it's just not feasible. Better then to have somebody know how to repair you... and hopefully you'll trust them to do so.

[People being excited and distracted by information and data is certainly something Jetfire likes to see, so he smiles and nods.]

You're welcome. When you have looked through that and feel ready for more, you can always contact me, or go here [Have some coordinates to where he has his lab], as that is where I'll most likely be... Ah, right, er... I also share my lab with an alternate version of myself, and we do look very similar.

[Jetfire pauses, mouth twisting in something of a dry smile.]

Duplicate alternates is something that might happen here.
angleofscience: (smile - as predicted!)

It, ah... might be a good idea to do that yes.

[Probably will! Jetfire chuckles at that and shrugs.]

It was hardly meant as a way to discourage you, merely a warning. While Skyfire is taller than I am, our overall design is very similar, but if he hasn't spoken to you before you drop by and you mistake him for me, things could be awkward.

[Have an amused tilt of his helm.]

I'm Jetfire.
angleofscience: (say what? - I did calculations!)

Indeed? What were they? It's always interesting to hear the various circumstances such a situation can arise in.

[Sure, Seekers look rather similar, but mostly at a distance - there were differences that were pretty clear close up. And that was, yet again, different from truly being faced by some sort of... alternate verison of yourself.]

[personal profile] angleofscience 2014-01-01 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that type of similarity. [Nodding, Jetfire rubs his chin.] We have a few mechs who do end up looking similar for similar reasons as well; clones or siblings do either look completely similar or almost so.

And, of course, some who might have been created as part of a larger batch tend to be looking similar as well, at least at a distance, as closer up they might evidence more individuality in looks.
angleofscience: (inquisitive - how much data?)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2014-01-01 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
An interesting proposal... gathering information for one of them will be relatively simple, at least. Would you be willing to share how it works in your reality in more depth?

[Because science. He'll never say no to science and research.]
angleofscience: (hmm - yes did you want anything?)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2014-01-02 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
A good idea.

If there's something else you wish to know, I'll attempt to answer as best as I can.
angleofscience: (smile - as predicted!)

Certainly. I hope you'll be able to settle in as well as it can go.

[Since no one of them really wants to be here, and for any human-sized or organic thing it's more of a hassle than it would otherwise be.]
