[Skyfire is still pretty embarrassed by this whole thing, so he'll keep it short and sweet.]

I would like to apologize for my recent behavior, first of all. Particularly for the wonderful first impressions with some of you.

More importantly, I still have plenty of things that don't belong to me and need to be returned. I'm not quite sure I remember what I took from where, so... if you are still missing instruments or tools, they're probably in my room.

[Then he sighs, shaking his helm.]

Unfortunately. It seems to be a trait that has neither been... er, ameliorated nor excerbated by time or political, so to speak, philosophy. I've learned to work around it and usually know where to look.

[Mostly because he knows how Starscream works and where he might hide things.]

True. There's been an unfortunate first meeting, I'm afraid. But I'm sure it can be cleared up.

[At least he hopes so.]

I imagine that kind of habit isn't easy to break.

[He frowns at that, but there's not much he can do, is there?]

I hope so. It'd be... er, unfortunate if someone let their judgement of you be coloured by the outside influence the crystals were.

[Talking of crystals... but he puts that thought aside to snort.]

Not really, no, and I'd tried since I noticed it back at the Academy. It hasn't had much of an effect.

[Rather, none at all.]

I have the chance to try to explain myself, at least.

True. I suppose that's the best to hope for, in general.

If you kept the crystals I assume you found somewhere, did those, too, turn colourless?

[The white ones he'd picked had definitely turned inert, and he was rather relieved to find himself in possession of all his... normal capabilities again, as well as normal operations.

Constantly healing himself, however useful on a level, was unsettling as well.]

I can at least give it a try, I guess. [He shrugs.]

They did turn colourless, yes. They were orange at first.

Mmh, thought so. I'd hoped one of them hadn't. The ones I had picked up recently did as well.

[Sighing faintly, Jetfire shrugged.]

I'd hoped to get a chance to examine them, but didn't have any time what with how... ah, busy things were. These colourless ones seem to be completely non-reactive on all accounts.

It's incredibly frustrating. If we could at least analyze them properly, we might figure out how to deal with them if something like this ever happens again. But like this...

Like this, there's nothing to find out. Which is incredibly improbable. There ought to be some residue left, something...

[He holds up a colourless crystal and frowns at it.]

These doesn't even parse as energon crystals anymore. I didn't think a complete catalysation like that was even possible.

Honestly, I'd say it goes past improbable to suspicious. This kind of change, so quick and so thorough... I have a hard time believing it happened through natural means only.

[Reluctantly, Jetfire nods.]

I was afraid of that. Hard to not come to that conclusion, since I'd rather, for once it be something natural instead of a possible effect from the Lambda or the Badlands, but... that doesn't seem to be the case.

Again.

The worst part is that it makes it nearly impossible to be prepared.

Definitely the worst part. The events so far have all been disparate enough there's no way to deduce a pattern, which is usually possible to construct when you have enough data... even of events that seem to have no commonality between them.

[He'd done it more than once after all, one of the biggest being the Fallen's influence of the events during the faction-split. But here, well... there was nothing to build from.]

Mmm. And with many different people trying it, during an extended period of time. The only thing we can be sure of is that we aren't simply overlooking something. That's... just how it is.

It shouldn't be possible, and yet here we are.

Not a conclusion any scientist wishes to be faced with, but one, I suppose, we'll have to... ah, accept. At least for now.

[He smiles a bit lopsidedly then.]

When I get over, help me carry anything I can't in one round?

I do hope it's just for now, yes.

[He sighs a bit, but he's in a better mood by now.]
