[Hello, Haven. Now appearing on your comms is a probably familiar form, though with a very unfamiliar paint job. Maybe Thundercracker or Starscream decided to try a new look?

Nope. Once this new Seeker speaks, it's clear that he's a stranger. A new arrival most likely. Whoever he is, though, he's clearly not very happy.]

Alright. I heard the story from the drone. Or Acolyte, or whatever the frag they're called. But can anybody out there tell me what the Pit is actually going on here? And why I've suddenly gained an extra, glowing brand that I don't recognize on my arm?

Because if this is all some kind of overly-elaborate joke or some Quintesson's latest idea on how to mess with us, someone is gonna get it...

[Sigh] You obviously don't know much about Seekers, do you? If I did that, no one would recognize me. Not that most bother to remember anyway, but at least being 'the green one' makes me pretty distinctive. Even if it does get me mistaken for that pompus-aft Acid Storm.

[He tenses slightly at the acknowledgement of his faction, narrowing his optics a bit. He hasn't missed your blue optics, buddy, even if he can't see your insignia from this angle.]

What Seekers are to me happens to be very different than what they, apparently, are to you.

[ those cars are Seekers. not aerials. but hey it's not his optics that are narrowing. instead he gives a half shrug. ]

I just would like to think that we are all beyond factions now, considering our situation here. There's no war to play at here.

And what are Seekers to you, exactly?

[He clearly sounds like he expects the reply to be at least somewhat insulting. Maybe some crack about how generic they are, or something...

He is distracted by the last bit however, looking surprised for a moment, before it fades into disbelieving annoyance.]

Hmph... There's always a war going on. That's kind of what Cybertronians do, ya know? 'Autobots waging their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons', or whatever current party line the humans are using is.

Fast ground bound vehicles that travel in units of three and serve under the Autobot's tyrannical leader.

[ just saying it as he sees it. and it is true of his universe, though it doesn't seem like there is any other in which it is the same. ]

I still emphasize the fact that Decepticon or Autobot really doesn't matter too much here.

[Well, whatever answer he was expecting that obviously wasn't it. He's even too busy trying to process all that to be offended at being compared to a grounder.]

You're all... actually serious, aren't you? About the alternate universes and this being some weird-aft version of ancient Cybertron and... everything.

Quite serious. It takes a little to get used to it, but I assure you that there are many that will be willing to assist you, providing that you don't seek to harm anyone.

Ah... Apologies, Air Commander, Sir. I didn't... recognize you. [He resists wincing at how lame that sounded, but only barely.] Jadewing, at your command, Sir.

[ well hold on one second there. he knows what the other Starscream is like, but it should be obvious that he is not him. no one really snaps to attention like this around him either or bothered to call him Air Commander.

it's kind of... awkward. and surprising. things he isn't bothering to hide. ]

[ then he just... starts laughing. ]

You... You have the wrong impression about me. Yes, I am Starscream. I am a Decepticon, it's true.

However... I am not that sort of Starscream - not the one you are used to and I certainly am no Air Commander.

[Unfortunately the awkwardness and surprise... and especially the laughter just seem to confuse him more.]

[OK. Pause. Deep vent. He had to get a hold of himself. Even if things made no sense at all.

So he was suddenly very much out of his element and away from everything he'd ever known. He was a Decepticon warrior. He could deal. ...Hopefully. He drops the salute and relaxes slightly to a more 'at ease' position... but no more than that.]

We're all from different realities, Jadewing. Some of us have friends and comrades here from our own, but it really is a hodgepodge in the end. Where the Starscream you know is ambitious, whiny, and somewhat annoying?

I can't say that I am like that at all. My needs and wants are driven by the needs of others around me.

[Again, past tense. Just like when referring to his world's Thundercracker.]

So... if not you, then... who do I report to? Thundercracker? I heard from the glitchy cat-bot that he was here.

[Which is so weird because his own Thundercracker is very dead. But... somebody has to be there to give him orders, right? And Thundercracker always was the most decent member of the Command Trine.]

He is, yes. Actually, we live together at Vector Prime's temple.

[ aaaand TC no longer bears Decepticon brands. ah ha. go figure. ]

That glitchy cat-bot is also a very good friend of mine, thank you kindly.

[ he sighs regardless. ]

[He nods at that. That at least makes sense; it's not unusual for trine members to share quarters. Low ranked ones like his have no choice, of course, but...]

Don't you have individual quarters? And if not... is Skywarp... a Skywarp there too?

[Oh Primus, don't tell him that just yet. Things have just started making a bit of sense here.]

... What's his deal, anyway? Is he always like that? Or did someone swap his energon ration with one of Mixmaster's 'special blends' this morning?

[Jadewing made the mistake of trying one of Mixmaster's 'special blends' shortly after coming to Earth. It had taken him two and a half days to stop seeing purple helio-hamsters and over a month for Cloudkicker to quit mocking him about it. NEVER AGAIN.

He just looks confused again at the last bit, though.]

But... if there's no one to report to, or get orders from... what do I do then?

If we want, yes. We are friends and seem to both want the company, though we are from completely different realities ourselves. Thundercracker, the one here, is far more tolerable than the boisterous one that I know.

[ and he chuckles at that. while Starscream likes his own TC just fine, he simply gets along with this one better. ]

Though I don't believe a Skywarp is here, no.

[ his own is likely at Darkmount, being far too serious and duty bound. who knows at this point... but Starscream has to laugh at hearing the next statement. ]

Ravage thought it would be a good idea to learn Earth languages by perusing their Internet. What he's picked up are from what is commonly called "LOL Cat memes." Quite irritating, actually.

As for what you do... Do what you want.

[The origin of Ravage's strange speech patterns prompts a small snort though.]

Hmph... That explains a lot. And you're right. Very irritating.

[He just blinks at that declaration, trying to process the fact that he no longer has duties to perform, officers to answer to, or a Commander to obey. As much as he may have fantasized about such a situation at various points... now that he has it, he feels rather lost.]

Not really sure what that is... Beyond the immediate urge to go find and consume some of Skycutter's bootleg highgrade. Strong enough to floor a combiner if you're not careful. Makes anything easier to deal with.

I'm afraid I don't really know what a trine is...

[ yeah. like. none at all. such a thing doesn't exist where he comes from... ]

And I know a place that does serve highgrade, if that is really your thing.

Don't know what-?! [pause. sigh.] Right. Alternate universe. Where Seekers are ground-pounders.

[There's a definite note of distaste on that last word, as if hearing it applied to the term 'Seeker' made it a dirty word.]

Tell you what. Why not join me for that high grade, and I'll try and tell you about it?

[Also he kinda doesn't know where to actually go to get the high grade and is kinda hoping to follow you. Or at least be given some directions.]

[ oh Cliffjumper would yell at him for meeting up with an unknown Decepticon flier... Seeker. so should he do it or not... ]

I can't really hold my high grade that well.

[ good defense. best defense. ]

[Jadewing shrugs.]

Then you can just have some standard grade. Probly best if one of us keeps all their processes in working order anyway.

Besides, I kinda need somebody to point me to where I can actually get it; I haven't been anywhere but Nexus' temple yet.

I suppose I could take a few cycles...
