[Hello, Haven. Now appearing on your comms is a probably familiar form, though with a very unfamiliar paint job. Maybe Thundercracker or Starscream decided to try a new look?

Nope. Once this new Seeker speaks, it's clear that he's a stranger. A new arrival most likely. Whoever he is, though, he's clearly not very happy.]

Alright. I heard the story from the drone. Or Acolyte, or whatever the frag they're called. But can anybody out there tell me what the Pit is actually going on here? And why I've suddenly gained an extra, glowing brand that I don't recognize on my arm?

Because if this is all some kind of overly-elaborate joke or some Quintesson's latest idea on how to mess with us, someone is gonna get it...

Maybe. But given that they can turn into Devastator? It's unlikely anybody'd be willing to actually do it.

Wow. Wait. That sounds badass. What's Devastator?

Combiner. Six normal-sized bots with their bodies and minds merged into one huge one. Devestator's kind of dumb, but that doesn't matter when you're the size of most buildings.

The Constructicons actually perfected the process, with themselves as the first successful subjects; earlier attempts at gestalt tech like that... didn't work so well.

Six of 'em, huh? Most bots I've seen combining into one big one was four.

Didn't work so well as in they exploded or something?

Some of them. Others died of spark-shock or went insane. The only pre-Devastator gestalt tech test subject to survive mostly intact and sane is Reflector, and the personalities of his three components were almost completely overwritten by the gestalt mind. So he's basically one mind in three bodies now. Kind of creepy, to be honest.

Jesus. You space bots are all kinds of messed up.

I mean, that is kind of awesome, but in a creepy, screwed up sort of way.

Yeah. 9 million stellar cycles of war has a tendency to do slag like that to a species.

Where're you from, though, if you're not Cybertronian? Can't say I'm familiar with your design.

I'm from Earth. Speakin' of, I'm still kinda set to Earth time. How the hell long is a stellar cycle?

Hmph... guess the ones where you're from are better at it than the ones where I'm from. They only ever built one bot that I know of; thing was supposed to be a 'ninja' but it was just a drone. Dumb as a rock and about as useless; it couldn't even talk. It wasn't til Megatron stole it and the Constructicons upgraded it with Cybertronian tech that was actually made useful. Still couldn't talk, though, and never had anything resembling a personality.

[Jadewing shakes his head a little. He hadn't made it to Earth yet during the 'Nightbird incident' but he'd read the report, and heard from some who had been there. Human built or not, Gunmax was light-years ahead of that so called 'ninja-bot'.]

As for a stellar-cycle, it's a little longer than an Earth year. Not that much longer, though, so you can call it a year if that makes it easier for you. [shrugs]

You nailed it, buddy. That's a little creepy, though. Did that thing not even have an AI or what?

Aaaand in that case, holy shit. That's a long time.

[Shrugs] No idea; I wasn't on Earth yet when this was all going on, so I only really know about it second hand. If it did, though, it must've been stupidly primitive.

And yeah, long time. I've only been around for about seven and a half million, though, give or take.

Though that's really not all that impressive, considering the number of pre-war bots running around.

Yeah, heard it all before, buddy. Well, except for the "Stunticon" thing, no idea what that is.

The Stunticons are a combiner team. Five members, all brought online about 20 years ago. Think they're about the youngest mechs we've got back home.

Jesus. Considering everyone else I've talked to so far is like a billion years old, that seems like nothin'.

Exactly. That's why it's surprising to find a mech who's younger yet.

They actually started out as Earth cars. They were taken apart and rebuilt as mechs, designed to counter the Autobot's land-based advantage. Would've probly worked out better if they weren't all various kinds of glitched.

See, buildin' a robot that turns into a car, I get, but who the hell builds entire bots out of car parts? Can you even put an A.I. in that?

Megatron and the Constructicons, apparently.

And they have sparks, not AIs. They were taken back to Cybertron once they'd been rebuilt and sparked.

You can just jam those spark things into carbots?

I wouldn't put it quite like that, but basically yeah. They were rebuilt with a sparkchamber in place, so Vector Sigma was able to spark them.
