[Text] There is such a thing as too many questions
[Guys you better brace yourselves because Four isn't holding back at ALL.]
Languages are an important part of society, whatever society that may be, and is always fascinating to study. I know that translators largely make it possible for us to communicate with each other regardless of the language we currently speak... or in my case, write. I have a large appreciation for spoken word and how words, ideas, and memories look like when written in different languages.
So what I want to know is: What language does everyone usually speak? I currently communicate in what humans call 'German', though I will switch between English and Arabic from time to time. I prefer not to use English too often though, it is not the most reliable language of the ones I know.
For Cybertronians: Are there different kinds of Cybertronian languages like there are different kinds of Earth languages? If there are, how and why do they differ?
Another couple of questions for Cybertronians:
Why do some of you have noses while others don't?
How does gender work for your kind?
How do you see while you are transformed?
Also
:)
Look I made a smile!

What do you think of your language?

I speak English, but learning other languages is fun too!
[There's also a little bleep, as a text is sent too.]

[There's a pause and a snort.]
There has, however, been an intentional drift between the two factions our species is pretty much divided in, though mostly within written language. We do still speak the same otherwise.
As for the other questions... [He chuckles, and there's a shift of metal that's almost drowned out by the sound of wind, because Jetfire's flying.] Noses... nasal ridges. While I am unsure about why others might not have them, they provide some protection for the optics and the processor, since a nasal ridge protuding as it does absorbs damage and impact from, say, a punch.
Sight is merely shifted to other sensors while in flight, mostly concentrated where suitable... Mine are along my cockpit and in my nosecone, but I have some elsewhere as well to give a better surrounding view. Admittedly, this also depends on altmode, as I rely on quite a few other sensors to supply me with enough information when in altmode.
[There's a moment of silence mostly taken up by the distant sound of wind.]
Hmm... "gender" in a sense as being connected to a biological sex doesn't translate well. There's, I think, several factors within cybertronian function and physiology that could compare. What were you thinking of?
[Text]
Autobots and Decepticons write their words differently yet speak the same language? What did your letters look like before your species split themselves up, do you know?
Noses are often used by most organics to smell or taste, can your kind do either? Do you have tongues? Out of curiosity what do you eat? Is it possible for Cybertronians to starve to death? If so how long would that take?
Gender and Sex don't mean the same thing?

And these are all pretty viable questions. Especially the seeing while transformed bit...

These questions I've been wondering for a while. I want to know more about Cybertronians! :D

[Helm tilted in curiosity, because no, that word isn't being translated well, and every time someone's said she looked like a girl... Elita had taken it for the physical sex of one half of the human species. Not something a lot more nebulous such as "gender".]
[Text]
Some Cybertronians look like men while others look like women. I was curious if there was a particular reason for that. Breeding perhaps?

Gender is more like "frame type" to us, or at least it's that way where I'm from. Mechs are like the dudes of our species and femmes are the dudettes. Doesn't really mean anythin', though, other than that. Pretty much all the internal stuff is the same.
Seeing in vehicle mode for me is more like my sound sensors and, um... well, I could say, but it's pretty technical stuff. You wanna know, kiddo?
Also! Languages! I could totally teach you a few whenever you'd want sometime. Cybertronian stuff, too. Most of it's dialect, though.

How our systems operate varies upon the design, model, and alt mode. I've met quite a few Cybertronians with their own unique features. Some that have equipped sensors forming their "noses", or their noses are simply sensitive dermal plating housing a series of intricate sensors. And yes, sensors can also play a large role in how one sees in their alt mode. Some don't rely on vision, but rather on certain energy or heat signatures, or voice patterns... It's complicated.
However, on a different note, I am not aware of the extent of how many languages and dialects the humans/organics use. I've heard mostly "English" here; German and Arabic sound interesting, I can only imagine how they actually sound.
[Text]
So in your universe, 'female' Cybertronians are not considered natural. What was the point of making a 'female'? I gather that she was mentally unstable? What did the scientist do to her? Is it a coincidence that they are comparable to human females?
You Cybertronians are so complex! It's absolutely fascinating.
[Four can spend his whole life learning about your kind and he'd probably never run out of things to learn. That prospect alone is exciting.]
To be fair, I've never heard Arabic spoken before. The human race died in my world very recently, so I have only ever heard the language spoken that was native in the town I lived in. My brother and I had to teach ourselves to read unfamiliar languages, we're quite good at it by now.
Life exists here on Cybertron, and I hope that I can hear what these languages sound like!

I believe our physicals differences are due to fact we belong to different universes rather than a real use for said noses WE DO NOT breath like organics do.
Define gender please.
Our ability to see and analyze the surroundings it's different from mech to mech and it va-ri-es with the alt-mode as well but we all use SENSORS of some sort.
Nice...smile. I learned those in Earth too thanks to wifi.

It seems to be a common theme among the universes where Cybertronians exist. You all speak the same language, but write differently. It's rather interesting, I wonder why that is? Why is there a divide between Autobots and Decepticons in your world? I take it that the Decepticons are the 'bad' guys?
[While Four may be a bit new to life in general, he isn't so naive as to assume that everything is split up between 'good' and 'bad'. He's aware that shades of grey exist between these two extremes and he treads around it as carefully as he can.]
Gender is one's sexual identity. Among humans what your gender is defines what you do, how people look at you, and it defines who you are. At least that is my observation.
:D

Jetfire says that their sight is moved to their other sensors when they transform. I'm not 100% sure what that means though... I should ask.
