[Video -> TEXT] [TRANSMISSION ORIGINATING FROM: LIEGE'S FORTRESS]
[Well... okay he's never seen anything like this before. Is it like a typewriter? Because he knows how to use a typewriter. Four doesn't really understand what a "network" is, but he's determined to find out. He's been told that this will help him communicate with others, and... as frightening as that is, he really, really, really wants to talk with people.
Even the robots, who he figures can't all be bad...
Right?
He plays around with it a little, and accidentally turns on the video function. Tiny optics blink out onto the network, and he continues fiddling around with it until he manages the texting function.]
areallofyoulostlikeiam?
[Wait, how do you do spaces? Give him a moment, he'll figure this out.]
My name is 4.
There are a lot of machines and living things here. I have never seen anything like you before.
can you answer some of my questions please?

I am part of a species of biomechanical beings.
We share some similarities with machines, in that we are primarily made of metal with mechanical moving parts, but we are alive.
We are all intelligent, free-willed individuals. Having faces...makes it easier to tell each other apart. [A warm amber optic flashes as he winks.]
Text
Alive but metal.
I would say that sounds impossible, but considering what I am, I will keep an open mind.
Where are you from? How big are you? Are you talking the same language I am typing? Do you have a soul? What keeps you alive?
The universe surprises us sometimes yes? I've never seen anything like you before either. Can I ask what you are in return?
[He chuckles good naturedly at your questions.]
My home planet is called Cybertron. It's a lot like the planet we're all on now, but...this one is in a different universe and time. That part is complicated, but it's because of that big tear in the sky.
I'm about 20 feet tall standing. I have an 17 foot wingspan in my alternate mode. [That's a whole different story, but one thing at a time.]
I'm speaking in my native language of Cybertronian, so I'm pretty sure the Link is translating for us. [His optic flashes as he winks at you]ruefully, hoping that it's not too much for you. It's not an easy concept to explain!]
What keeps us alive? Well, we need fuel to function, a very specialized type called Energon. Without it we go into stasis, or dormant. Our Sparks are self-sustaining so we do not die, but all functions cease without it.
That's a lot to take in, I hope I didn't overwhelm you!
[Text]
[But enough about him, let's talk more about you!]
Liege told me about the tear, and that we are all from different universes. That's why I want to talk to people, to get to know them better and to learn more about their worlds.
What do you mean alternate mode? You have more than on physical form? How is that possible?
[Four absorbs the information given to him as if it gives him sustenance, eagerly picking it apart and finding more questions to ask.]
I am not easily overwhelmed with information, it's my purpose to remember everything.
Forever Video for mine! Because Show and Tell is fun~
So you were created by someone? And you mentioned humanity, does that mean you're from Earth?
[Not having to explain the whole Lambda thing? Yeah that's a relief.]
I feel the same way. I've been to other planets, but not in a very long time. There's such a variety of people here, it's interesting to meet them all and discover where they come from!
[He smiles. He knew the altmode question was coming.] Yes, you could say that. Or rather, my physical form changes its appearance. Complicated mechanisms in my body allow the parts to shift and move. I can either look as you see me now--[He steps back]--or I can transform into a jet--[There's a whirl of shifting metal as he transforms, and even though he's trying to go slow and not be too flashy it's still a bit hard to follow over the feed.]--See?
[Wing hovers on his antigrav field, doing a slow turn so you can inspect. He rather reminds you of a very sleek bird--assuming you know what birds are--but with no feet.] All Cybertronians can do this, but their forms can vary a great deal. We're all different. [He shifts back.]
It's your purpose to remember everything? Is that so you can relate it to others later? Or just perverse it?
[Text]
Wait, they all do that? He recalls one or two of the robots he's seen have tires or something similar on them. This bears further investigation.]
That is amazing! You're amazing!
What purpose does transforming serve to Cyberronians? Did I spell that right? Also, what else can you do besides transform?
[What do you want to talk about Four for? Giant robots are far more interesting.]
Re: [Text]
I agree! It offers a versatility and freedom of movement other races do not have. Aside from that reason, our altmodes also allow us the blend into our surroundings, which is helpful when traveling to other worlds. How we developed this ability though is so buried in ancient history that it is difficult to say what is fact and what is legend however.
And you're close, there's a hard "T" in the middle there. It derives from the planet name Cyber-T-R-O-N.
What else can I do? Well, a whole lot of things, though most relatively mundane by comparison. Read, write, sing, dance, love, hate...our race is capable of most all the things typical for sentient and sapient races. I suppose when it comes to special things I can do, the most notable would be my skill in combat with swords. I like to help and protect people.
[Wing seems to be in his element. He is talking about his people and making a friend--he hopes--in the process! And he'll get you talking at some point 4! Tiny stitched creations are just as interesting!]
[Text]
So you are like humans, except you are made of metal and can transform. You all possess the ability to think and feel, and I can guess you know the difference between right and wrong, going by human example here. Knowing this makes you all seem less frightening.
I always thought that machines were made to do nothing more than destroy. I can see that I was wrong.
Can I see your songs and dances sometime? I have only read about them in books, and I think it would be interesting to see you do them.
Video
I'm glad I've convinced you that not all machines are bad. [He grins, then sobers a little.] But don't get me wrong, some machines really are made for war, even some of us. But I think that can apply to people too in a way, so they are not so different.
[Wing chuckles at your request.] I think something can be arranged. I have holo--video recordings at the very least, if we can find a way to view them. Or...I suppose baring that a performance of some kind could be arranged?
