[Well... okay he's never seen anything like this before. Is it like a typewriter? Because he knows how to use a typewriter. Four doesn't really understand what a "network" is, but he's determined to find out. He's been told that this will help him communicate with others, and... as frightening as that is, he really, really, really wants to talk with people.

Even the robots, who he figures can't all be bad...

He plays around with it a little, and accidentally turns on the video function. Tiny optics blink out onto the network, and he continues fiddling around with it until he manages the texting function.]

[Wait, how do you do spaces? Give him a moment, he'll figure this out.]

My name is 4. There are a lot of machines and living things here. I have never seen anything like you before. can you answer some of my questions please?

Unfortunately, you're the first of your kind that I've seen.

[And that's curious enough in itself, but that's not currently what they're talking about, so Jetfire just shakes his helm.]

Not that that would necessarily indicate your brother isn't around, but I would assume your appearance on the network might have lured him out, too...

[A frown, even as he wanders along the wall of the corridor he's currently in, in reality frowning as much over Four's predicament as what these corridors seem to be.]

If he isn't around, can you survive on your own?

[So Three is not here. His enthusiasm suddenly dies, and all he wants to do is crawl off and curl up somewhere. Or maybe follow Liege around because that's always an interesting pastime.]

3 is not around, so I suppose I will have to.

[He winces, though the reaction is kept internal, and thus not seen; Jetfire's expression softens slightly, however. Perhaps he should have phrased what he said some other way, since that probably hadn't been taken well at all... and understandably so.]

Perhaps your brother will arrive later; I've seen similar events and arrivals elsewhere. [He pauses, lips briefly pursing slightly in thought.] Even if not, you will learn and see a lot of new things here... Which you could always share with your brother when you go home, or he arrives.

[He hopes that bringing this up, as a distraction only or worthy goal in itself, will help. Of course, in the case of the retelling having to wait until Four goes home, Jetfire hopes he'll remember... But he hopes they all will, because forgetting what they've learned and shared in other places like this would be.... unfortunate, at best.

Some things might be better off not learned, however.]

[The loss of his brother is an extremely hard blow, but Four is made to survive and adapt, so he knows he has to somehow get over it. But how does one deal with losing someone who has never left your side? It occurs to him that maybe it's Four who is the one who's lost, and Three is looking for him back home...]

Perhaps. He and I always share our experiences, so I will have plenty to give him when we meet again. You haven't told me your name. Are you Cybertronian too?

[Jetfire inclined his helm and was indeed sincere in that wish, even if he wasn't the most passionate about it.]

Ah, yes, I am. My designation is Jetfire. [And then a small smile.] May I ask what you are, as well?

[Because it was obvious that whatever Four was, it wasn't human... maybe not even organic, rendering him something similar to some type of mechanoid.]

[These robots have such particular names, but Four is steadily picking up a theme to them.]

I am a Creation. Human made and, I suppose, human powered. I am one part of a human soul.

[That wasn't... an answer he'd expected. As far as Jetfire knew, it was unknown whether humans - or anything organic, really - had something like a soul. Something similar to a spark. At least where Four came from, it seemed like they did...]

... You have nothing else in particular that powers or fuels you, then?

[A brief pause and Jetfire's optics narrow... not threateningly (at least, that's certainly not the intention, merely thoughtfully.]

Do you have any idea how you came to be?

No, if I did not have the piece of soul given to me, I would not be able to move, think, or feel. It means that I can survive on my own without needing fuel or anything similar. We were made to last.

[He wonders about Jetfire's interest in him, but he reminds himself that he's just as interested in Jetfire, so it's only fair.]

It's a long story, but the end result is that the Scientist created me and my family. If you mean the formula and the process needed to create us though...

Ah... [He nodded, slowly, and while he would have wanted some way to objectively confirm this, it sounded very similar to a spark... except for the fact that Four apparently didn't need any extra sustenance, which certainly was interesting.]

While there's obviously some difference, as far as things can be adequately described and compared by words only, that sounds pretty similar to a spark... The only thing a spark can't provide is the sustenance to actually function.

[He tilted his helm curiously, wondering if it was mere coincidence that the one that had created Four and his family was a... or was at least called the Scientist. He shook his helm at the last.]

While I would most assuredly be interested in knowing if you do know that, if you aren't comfortable or willing to share, that is understandable.

[Honestly, Four has never considered his creation as much of a big deal as others here are making it out to be. This bears some investigation someday.]

I assume you mean how we were created. The Scientist used to be a toymaker, and his speciality was creating... automatons I suppose you can call them. His very first creation, know as the B.R.A.I.N was given life purely from his own intellect. The Scientist used a mixture of science and magic to give it life, an ancient practice known as Alchemy. When B.R.A.I.N proved to be flawed and dangerous, the Scientist changed the formula and instead gave pieces of his soul to us, so we would be able tell right from wrong, good from bad. For that he had to use the Talisman.

[He nodded, but obviously didn't need to elaborate more than that, as Four continued. And perhaps he should have expected less than... exact terms and not precisely (at all), science. And how had this Scientist partitioned up his soul, if humans indeed had one, since it'd be hard to confirm what Four was saying, without injuring himself..?]

Thank you. Was the Scientist unharmed through giving you and your family pieces of his soul?

[No matter the lack of scientific method in this retelling or the facts or not, he was curious if Four knew this.]

... And being created from pure intellect didn't give B.R.A.I.N the ability to possess, or understand and take to, morals and ethics?

[Tilting his helm curiously, more interested in this currently than the mention of "the Talisman" (but still filing that away), Jetfire frowned thoughtfully. He would think being created from a intellect would give just as large a possibility to understand morals and ethics... depending on the individual said intellect came from.]
