[The feed opens to a reveal Wing, composed though a tad concerned.]

Greetings. I am Wing. I am searching for a certain medic who's name I regrettably did not get. Autobot, airframe, white red and cyan. Discernible by an unfortunately notable lack of hands.

[He'd leave that part out, because gosh, who needs to be treated to gory descriptions upon a first or even second communication with a stranger, but it really is the greatest identifying feature of the mech he's looking for.]

I met him in the Junk Pile and left him to seek aid, but when I returned he was gone.

Doctor, I hope you're out there and managed to make it to safety by other means. If so could you let me know? Or if anyone else has seen him and can share his whereabouts or condition I'd appreciate it.

[He stops and ponders over the translation a moment.] I assume you mean a "heart" in a metaphysical sense?

[This place is like that though, handing out epiphanies left and right.]

I certainly hope so. I'd... rather not think about the alternative. [He doesn't hide it, so it's probably pretty obvious that he has a personal stake in this.]

Well- sort of. What one might consider a "heart" or "soul". The personal awareness past my own body. Empathy, joy, sadness, loneliness, love, I was not originally constructed to feel those things. I was made to be a police robot and nothing more.

[]He smiles knowingly.]

Yes! Yes I understand. Cybertronians have something similar, we call it a a spark. It's also our lifeforce, without it, even with fuel and proper repairs, we would not function.

So you evolved these things on your own? That's truly a wonder that you've transcended your original state.

[Wing's open-hearted joy and wonder at this might be a little embarrassing, but he's genuinely enthused by such a marvel.]

I--We are, after a fashion. I'd like it to be more really. [He grins hopefully.]

Interesting. So your personality, all your memories are within this "spark"?

[Deckerd grins, no. He's just as full of wide-eyed wonder at the concept of a whole race of sentient robots like himself.]

[A pause, and he draws a brief conclusion, and then says a little bit knowingly...]

[He thinks you two are boyfriends now.]

Of a sort. The core of our personality, our individuality, yes. And personal memories too, over time. But we do have processors and memory banks that hold information as data, data that can even be transferred between mechs.

[They can be wide-eyed in wonderment together then!]

It's so wonderful that you have such a close bond with him, and that it could affect you in a such a way.

[He believes emotion, compassion, has that power, but it's amazing to see such tangible proof of it.]

[He chuckles at your knowing reply and maybe his faceplates heat a bit.]

I am rather attached to him, yes.

Hmm. Transferred how?

[Have a sheepish smile.]

To be honest, I think so to. he is the most dear person in the world to me. I would do anything for him.

[The smile grows a little and he nods.]

I think that's wonderful. I've never seen such a thing ah... play out before. Truly.

[Wing opens a panel in his wrist to display a small port and cable that can extend out.]

That's how I learned English actually. Drift's been to Earth but I haven't, and he shared his language files with me so I could understand one of the other refugees before we all got our communicators.

[He laughs softly, touched by your emphasis on wonderful.]

Well, there's still, uh, more to come so... [He'd say 'enjoy the show' but there's no way he could do it with a straight face.]

Hmm. Interesting...

[Excuse him while he stares.]

Oh! I see! That must be incredibly useful. We can so similar things, but not quite as easily.

I imagine you have ways to connect to and communicate with digital systems bigger than yourselves. Cybertronians have just had a long time to refine things.
