So that's it then. Everything is back to "normal". As normal as this place gets and we're all left a little more fucked up than when we started.

[ HOURS LATER... Vandal comes huffing and puffing her way over. That's a hell of a walk. ]

[ He doesn't come greet her. An acolyte can direct her to the right place anyway. He feels bad, making her walk all the way, but just a day or two ago he was cut open from neck to pelvic plating.

He still has the fresh welding marks, even if he's up off a medical slab and instead seated.

Of course, he frets when he realizes she's out of breath. ]

V-Vandal! I'm sorry. I... didn't realize you'd walk all that way.

[HUFF.]

[ Suddenly self conscious? First Aid really wasn't used to being the one injured-- if anything he's always had to be strong to deal with others.

His hands brush over his chest plating, loosely covering the weld marks. ]

I'm okay now. It's a long story.

[She climbs up with relative ease, urging him to lie back again.</small.] I don't really think that's the truth, but you don't have to tell me if you don't want to.

[ First Aid lays back with some hesitance, venting a sigh as he lays his arms across his chassis. ]

In the end I'll probably end up feeling better than I have been.

[She plunks down next to him and rubs a hand over the side of his helm, leaving it there for the continued contact.]

What makes you say that?

I was sick, before. I didn't really let anyone know. A few could tell.

[ He leans into the hand, optics dimming slightly. ]

The organ's been removed now.

First Aid...

[Her hand stills and she leans in to plant a kiss on his faceplate.]

I'm so sorry. You can talk about it, if you want. But you don't have to.

[ He's honestly not even sure what to say. Sure, he'd been a field medic, but for the most part only the worst Decepticons fired at medics. And he never had to suffer pain caused by someone he trusted.

He rumbles, indecisively. ]

I used to be a doctor once, you know.

[ Totally unrelated, but. Talking. ]

Yeah? A doctor? I bet you were a good one.

[Well, talking is good. She'll engage him about whatever he's comfortable with, idly petting the edges of his helm.]

[ He snorts and wiggles, a little bit uncomfortable. Not over being touched, since he likes that. Just... the whole situation, though. ]

Well... I was demoted.

[She frowns faintly.]

Why? You seem pretty competent to me.

[ He shrugs. ]

Can't have a crazy doctor, but you can have a nurse...
