I might have accidentally started the fireworks early.

Energon, it seems, is not a viable replacement for gasoline. [He is grateful he didn't try consuming it before this test, and even more grateful that he managed to start the vehicle from a distance.]

I don't suppose anyone has any suggestions? Or a way to convert us to a different fuel source?

Or some wash-cloths and soap?

Good - that's always tricky. What grade was that?

[Another moment of stare...and then a flicker of perception. He can be knocked out of surprise by direct questions and getting the opportunity to think.]

It was brought to me from one of the temples. I would assume it is standard for whatever is processed there.

As you can see, we're having difficulty adapting it to Earth-made engines, which is a problem. [He glances down, illustrating the issue that he means by looking at his own chest.] My team have earth made engines.

Do you know if there is any grade of energon we can use?

[Nexus seems...thoughtful, more than anything else. pensive.]

If I had something to experiment with, I might be able to make something for you. The problem is, if standard energon does that, then I'd need to dilute it to almost nothing before I felt remotely comfortable letting one of you bots try it. And even then, it'd be better if we found another one of those - eh, empties, for lack of a better word - to see if it'd still explode.

[Empties. That isn't a bad word for regular vehicles, except for the fact that McCrane prefers finding them with gasoline still in.]

I can keep watch for one. [It would be strange if there weren't a few more in here somewhere.] And if you need a sample, I would be happy to provide...

[He trails off, realizing.] You experiment. That means you have laboratories, with robot-sized equipment? [He is simply awed. Robot medics made a certain sort of sense after he got used to them, but robot scientists?]

As opposed to what-sized equipment? [he grins, a little, shrugging] I've got all kinds, mech. Liege's probably the only one who even comes close, but he works a little differently than I do. Little more on the theorizing, you know? Not so much the practical.

Human-sized. [Of course.]

Most things on my world weren't scaled to robots.

[He likes the idea of this practical science.] I will bring you an empty vehicle the first chance that I get. The sooner this problem is solved... [He looks down at himself, and his very charred paint-job.] ...the sooner we'll be able to spend our time on more important tasks.

More mechs than humans here, and I still remember when there weren't any at all. [he chuckles, then nods]

Nexus is fine. There's enough of us Primes that if you use that, you'll have half of Cybertron looking at you.
