This is Captain Nathaniel Renko, Spartan platoon of the Titan Corps of North America. Though I'm guessing there's no one here that knows of either of those... [~~Or he wouldn't be using his real name.~~ But who knows, maybe there's someone around here that remembers Spartan-21 or Titan-1 Actual, or heavens forbid, his name. Without understanding the former connotations of his name in his timeline, hopefully.]

So I've heard that I was dropped through some kind of rift and I'm on another planet. And apparently there are sentient giant robots. Which I guess makes my next question... what's it like where you're from originally?

Though we may come from different timelines and universes, we all share one thing in common: we're at war or just coming out of it. It's spanned millennia. A civil war that branched out into hundreds of galaxies. Billions of lives lost - not only Cybertronian. Great planets, civilizations, lifeforms, all that - gone; blown to scrap. This is all very general, but you're going to hear a lot about it from the others, I know.

Millennia-long war? Geeze, you fellas don't do anything by halves, do you? Whole-hog, planet-destroying civil war or bust.

I hope things aren't quite that exciting here?

It started out small enough, then things just escalated. Finally, it exploded. And it was, well, yeah. Terrible.

So far, you mostly just have to worry about the rogues who want to keep the war alive or the occasional slip-up this world provides. Other than that... It's rather peaceful. Ish.

Sounds familiar. Well, except for the slow build, anyway. Us humans tend to... get right down to business. Now a days we do.

Peaceful for the most part... ignoring the usual. That will definitely be a big change of pace for me. I might even have a chance to get bored for a couple minutes.

I'm admittedly not very familiar with human history, but it doesn't surprise me you have your own wars. Seems normal for all advanced, opinionated societies, unfortunately.

Truthfully, it's better to be bored than running yourself into the ground.

My history is probably a lot different than other histories of Earth you might here. But you're right about the wars, it sounds like.

If only there was time to be bored more often.

You've got plenty of that here. Time, that is. Though it doesn't necessarily stay boring too long. I'm sure you'll find out soon enough what I mean.

I wouldn't be surprised. But I hope I can at least get settled before it all goes to the dogs. Time's occasionally on my side long enough for that.
