[The video clicks on as Rung settles on the edge of his bed, looking much better than he had previously--at least more put together and collected. Without the constant ache in his head, he's been able to settle a bit more though the whole..feel of this place still isn't all that comforting. Not yet at least. ~~Doesn't help that he's been both upsetting and helping others it seems.]~~

I figured it might be wise for me to officially offer my services, so to speak, to everyone currently taking residence here since I seem to already be working myself back into the practice. As some of you know, I am a psychiatrist and, as such, am more than willing to sit down with anyone that may need it and just listen and offer advice.

[He pauses, fingers tapping against the edge of the bed as Rung glances down momentarily, considering something before he glances up once more with a faint smile.]

I suppose the first thing to establish would be a potential space I could use for such a practice, if anyone has any suggestions for that sort of thing.

I try to be, whenever I can. It's only right, especially towards those of higher authority than myself.

Even to people that are probably a third of your height at best?

[He's only been tacking on the 'Captain' out of habit. It discourages people from calling him Nate at least.]

Size doesn't mean much when it comes to giving others respect. Even the smallest of beings deserve the same respect that the largest get, Captain.

That wasn't the sort of attitude I'd expected at all. It's refreshing, Doctor. I have been in the wrong place too long.

There are most likely some who do not share my opinion but I'll continue to give respect where it is deserved.

I'm glad I was able to bring you a bit of a refreshing change.

Others not sharing the opinion really isn't surprising. It'll just keep me on my toes, really.

I appreciate you being able to. It's been a while since I had a change.

I suppose that's better than growing too comfortable and bored?

Change generally can be a wonderful thing.

Definitely better than getting bored. Then again, that hasn't really happened for me in a while, either.

[He chuckles more a moment and then sighs hard - almost wistfully.]

Only sometimes. Change can be pretty bad, too.

[He gives the other a small smile that fades when the captain sighs. An understanding look touches Rung's face, the therapist nodding.]

I suppose it can be. It all depends on the circumstances unfortunately.

[He is pretty sure you are trying to work brain-mojo on him, Rung, but Renko is okay with it for now. Just that he isn't going to go into a bunch of details right now.]

It does depend. But hopefully this particular change is one for the better.

[He wasn't really trying to; sometimes it just happens that way though. Comes with the territory really.]

Hopefully. I keep telling myself that it is--

[Considering it was something of a new lease on life for him.]

--but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Well. I'd say the lack of sentient-caused craters is a pretty good start as far as changes. It may not be good to get your hopes up, but it can't hurt to look for the silver lining in the cloud.

[As much as he knows he needs to get back to his still-growing army... he likes the idea of a less-blasted landscape now that a change of scenery is possible.]

Silver linings are good things. In comparison to the state I was in when I was pulled from my home world, being here--functioning--is a bit of a silver lining as a whole.

[Smiles, or at least he tries to, the smile wavering a bit because it is a bit of an awkward subject.]

Things seem much better here than how the Cybertron back home was, at least.

Well, I can't really argue with that. Doubt that anyone could, really.

[He definitely won't pry into it, but he can guess at things well enough from here.]

They're definitely better here than on the Earth I'm from. If a bit... emptier than I'm used to.

Our Cybertron was in a fairly similar state to this one, though I didn't stay on the planet for long. Ended up going into space with a group that opted to leave the planet in search of other things.

[Suddenly looks sheepish as he realizes he was rambling ab it.]

Sorry. What..happened to your Earth, if you don't mind me asking?

Don't think there's any option to leave this time. Then again, there's probably enough here to keep people occupied for at least a little while.

[It's nice to have someone ramble at him again, it really is. Even if it reminds him that much more of Barisov.]

I don't know the whole story, but. Soviet Russia took over the world. Chancellor Demichev was ruling the world as a dictator until someone shot him. There's been civil wars everywhere since.

True. Which I suppose is better than them dwelling on what they left behind time and time again.

[It isn't often that Rung gets a chance to just talk to someone else without being interrupted or blown off eventually. It's nice.]

...That sounds kind of dreadful to be honest, even I'd I'm not sure what Soviet Russia. They're taking over your Earth reminds me of how the Decepticons once were though.

[It's what Renko's used to doing, really. Listen to someone until they decide to stop talking... or get shot at, in some cases.]

The Soviets... are hard to explain. It's a lot of history and politics. Needless to say, they were bad news with the technology they had. I've heard a little about the Decepticons. Nothing much more than "they're bad guys, mostly" though.

[Rung nods a bit as he listens to the other, a thoughtful sound escaping him.]

The core workings of what the Decepticons originally stood for wasn't...horrible but the group and their ideals became corrupted in ways, over time unfortunately.

[Renko seems to ponder that, hands folded together under his chin.]

Sounds familiar. Heh. Kind of how things work for most governments on Earth. It's starts out as a good idea that people are eager to get behind, and just starts going downhill along the way.

Sadly it seems to be the course that most organized societies take when multiple parties get involved.

[A sad smile appears as he shrugs.]

It's a never ending cycle.

So it seems. System shows up, gets corrupted, someone else takes over with a new system. Lather, rinse, repeat.

[He shrugs one shoulder himself.]

Maybe someone will figure out a better way, sooner or later.

One can hope, most certainly. I suppose a place like this gives us all to attempt something of a working system.

It does. Hopefully we can. Without resorting to something like mind control or worse, ideally.

Yes I don't think that would be the best route to take, in the least. It's really a matter of us all finding a common ground to stand on I suppose.
