[When the vid feed pops up on the Link, it starts with Swerve looking pretty confused, but this isn't exactly new to anyone who knows him.
To those who don't, welcome to Swerve-ville! Population: This boxy motherfucker and a whole lotta mouth.
He does perk up pretty quickly though, which again, isn't all that surprising. Swerve is pretty ace when it comes to looking like he's perpetually in a good mood.]

You know, I kind of thought we'd crashed through some kind of portal at first, 'cause this looks a lot like Cybertron. So I was thinking maybe there was some kind of massive surprise twist on the way and the Knights of Cybertron were actually on Cybertron the whole time, but it was an alternate version of Cybertron and the quest was actually supposed to teach us a lesson about perseverance and friendship.

Buuuut then some mech who was with me when I came out of recharge explained most of the actual situation to me. Kind of a disappointment, really.

[Though, if he thinks about it, this is actually pretty good. If there was a test on how everyone on the Lost Light was best friends, they would have failed it pretty quick. Because they're them.]

But, uh, just a note here? Waking up to a mech who was watching you during recharge just to explain the whole situation? Actually pretty creepy. So... might wanna get management on that.

He did do a bit of good, then, so I guess there's that. [And Ratchet got his hands so it all worked out pretty swell.]

Movie night with Tailgate, Pipes, First Aid and Rewind. He's the one projecting it onto the wall. We were watching Proteus' Promise.

Nice save. [Shrug shrug.] It hasn't been that long since I got here, but pretty well, I guess. The suite is bare struts but it's nice that I don't have to share. Not that there'd be much room for it unless I was sharing with someone my size or smaller.

Yes. [Drift is all about looking at the positives. Hoping that if he does that enough, mechs will do that for him.]

Oh. [That's not very helpful. ] That was after we got back from Delphi?

[No, it wasn't. He's aware of how awkward that was.] I don't have much either. But there's things in the junk pile if you need something. You should see what Wing's collected. [Wing = magpie?]

Waaaay after. You'd already gotten back from Delphi, there was a, a, incident and then a bunch of other stuff happened. Wouldn't want to ruin it for you. Surprises and all that. Everyone has a right to their own experiences, and I wasn't there for it in person. Rarely am. Part being a non-combatant that can't fire a gun for slag.

[He wouldn't want to be the one to break Drift's spark, which is obviously delicate like a baby petrol-petral fallen from the nest, with the news that Crystal City is deserted, it's population kidnapped, and that it was using a Metrotitan to power the entire set up.]

Wing? [He snaps his fingers, or at least tries because he doesn't actually know how to do that. There are a few awkward attempts before he just gives up and claps his hands. We are now under the assumption that this is a little after the time Wing has introduced himself.] The mech who has more angles than you! He's pretty polite. Little like you. Weird at first, but kinda nice.

'Incident.' [Drift would rather be spoilered than kept in the dark. ]

Uh. How does you firing a gun become relevant [Seriously, he thinks it's just weird information to just volunteer. ]

Yes. Wing. That Wing. He's very, uh, nice. He's from Crystal City. where we were heading on Theophany.

Incident. [N O P E]

Explains why I don't go a lot of places is all. It's not really relevant to anything. I mean, when is anything I say, really? [ACE. SAVE. They are the all stars of their own imaginary futbol team.]

Oh. [Just a light hissing vent sort of sound here.] Yeah... We actually already got there. Sort of. I didn't go, but you, Rodimus and a few others did. It didn't end well. Well, actually it did in the sense that we all got out alive, but Knights of Cybertron are a bit further down in our list of priorities now.

What kind of incident? [Because Swerve's obtuseness is probably just because he didn't get the question, not that he was, you know, avoiding the answer. ]

Oh. I...guess that makes sense? [Maybe?] If you need somene to, you know, keep you safe, you can comm me. maybe?

What happened? How was Dai Atlas? Did he help us with figuring out the map? [For the first time, Drift wants to go home.....]

The kind that starts bad and ends worse. That's it. [Drift. Just. Shhhhhhhhh. Shhhhhhhhh. Story time is over.]

What? Really? Huh. Can't say I was expecting that, but thanks for the offer. Maybe I'll take you up on it sometime.

Maybe I should gather everyone up if I'm gonna explain all the stuff we found out. I really hate the be the one to break it to you, but no one was there. Crystal City was totally deserted. Well, not totally. There was a metrotitan there.

[He's just going to give Swerve a look. Because Swerve not wanting to talk about something? A bit suspicious.] Not very comforting, you realize.

Just saying it's dangerous out here. Especially the Badlands.

....no one? [This is really not good news. He's trying not to show how badly he's reacting, probably badly. ] Were they...dead?

[Swerve is just going to do his best not to shift too awkwardly on his side of the screen. Instead he just kinda shrugs. He's not really comfortable sharing what happened, or his reasons, or just anything about it, really.] Comfort isn't exactly my main export. Well, it was when I ran the bar, but all good things come to an end.

I keep hearing about that place, but no one seems to have any real answers about it. But yeah, with a name like Badlands, I kinda figured.

No. If they'd been killed, it would've been a lot different. [Drift would have come back way pissed off instead of all full of revelations.] Long story short, Chromedome peeked into the mind of that metrotitan I told you about and he figures they've been kidnapped. Rodimus has an idea who, so our next stop is to go help them, then find the Knights of Cybertron.

There's a bar here, if you're interested. Or there will be. [He's figured that there's no point pushing Swerve on that point: the little mech isn't going to talk.]

We don't have a lot of answers ourselves. Why we're here, why us...the First Forged have their story, but... [a meaningful shrug.]

Oh. [Yeah, well, what else do you expect him to say?] I missed a lot apparently. [Master of the sword and understatement, he is.]

...what happened to the metrotitan?

[Just hands over his chest right here.] Drift, I am almost hurt that you wouldn't mention that right off. My spark may never recover.

But it's kind of hard to believe a bunch of massive cybertronians that have acolytes and who're claiming to be deities and happened to have a really convenient place for us to crash while we're stuck here?

Oh. Well he didn't have enough power to teleport home when Cybertron called, so a bunch of weird things happened because he was frustrated, but Brainstorm shrunk him down with some kind of mass deference gun and he was able to get back to Cybertron, I guess. Well, you guessed. You had a whole theory actually.

I'm...sorry? I got distracted by all the, uh, the things I've apparently missed.

[He nods.] Yes, it is...strange. [Suspicious, he might say.] They were surprised to see us when we woke up, though.

[Swerve you are making his head hurt.] So...uh, everyone's kind of all right, at least? [Yeah none of that sounds worrying at all. He wonders how Perceptor would react to Brainstorm's gun.]

That was also a joke. Seriously, we're gonna need to work on that.

Well, yeah. I'd be pretty surprised if a bunch of mechs and organics who weren't supposed to be on my planet were too. [Shrug.] I think they're taking it all pretty well though. For all the... hour or so I've been here.

[He does that sometimes.]

You could say that, yeah. [Rung is still in a coma and Primus only knows how Fort Max is doing.]

Oh. [Have a belated laugh. See? He totally gets jokes.] I knew that.

We've been here long enough to get used to it.

I didn't ask what I could say. Is everyone alive? Is Rodimus all right?

[He's not even dignifying that with a response, Drift. Just the most sympathetic 'no you didn't but that's okay' look. Like looking at a kitten that got itself stuck in a paper bag]

Turn of phrase. Everyone's pretty much alive and Rodimus is totally fine.

[He probably gives Drift that look a lot. ]

That's good to hear. Relatively speaking. Sorry. It's just weird to hear about things I should know about.

Is there anything you need? [Right. Drift: stop failing at Welcome Wagon.]

It's weird explaining things to you that you actually told me your rendition of, so I guess we can at least find solidarity in finding this weird.

Not really. Apparently there's a bar, so all my needs are pretty much covered at this point. Kinda wondering if I can get back on the metallurgy wagon here. Not that I ever really fell off, but melding alloys isn't exactly something the Lost Light has facilities for. Also, it's almost constantly getting into unstable situations, so maybe having liquid hot metals on there isn't the smartest thing.

[He's trying. A for effort? ]

Uh, all right. [And kudos for making it extra weird by pointing out how weird it was. Weirdception?]

You'd have to ask one of the scientists about it. Or Liege Maximo. He set Pharma up with a lab. His place is a little, uh, weird, though.

['Weird' will now be their secret password.]

Yeah. No offence to that guy but I'd probably have better luck asking Alpha Trion. [Pharma may have done some good, but Swerve is still pretty wary of him, considering.]

Which, y'know, kind of a strange name to hear here. I remember him being kind of a figurehead a long time ago. I wonder if they're anything alike. Not that I'd know.

Alpha Trion here is a little...interesting. He had a book and apparently...yeah. Uh.

[He won't even say it, but, the w-word.]

All I know is Pharma cured the Red Rust. Fast. Extra fast considering he had no hands.

[And then it hits him.] But First Aid...he was wary of him, too. [He doesn't know what to make of that.]

Yeah. That sure was a thing that happened? [Swerve just looks at the screen with one side of his eyeridge raised.] Are you going to elaborate, or should I just go figure it out myself?

[ARCHIVE BIIIIINGE!]

Yeah. He, uh... Ratchet has those now. Well, at least at the point in time where I'm from. First Aid and Ambulon are on the ship too. Considering how it worked out, 's not like I'm gonna jump him here. It's just hard not to let the past make me a bit... wary.

[Considering Pharma was freakin' crazy.]

[Give Drift a moment while he weighs his dignity with the fact that it's likely only a matter of time before Swerve digs it up on his own.]

Ratchet has what now? Pharma's hands? [That's just...that could be great news!] Does that mean we figured out who cut them off? Because Pharma was really--really--upset about that. I'm sure he'll be excited to hear they've been found and he can get them back.

Okay... That sounds... kind of interesting but mostly horrifying in every way. Feel free to just not tell me about what happened that whole time. Really. I'll be fine not knowing. I don't even want to know how it happened. Actually, wait. No. Tell me how it happened so I can avoid that. I don't think I'd make a good human female. Or human. Or anything that's not me.

[He can't have lungs. Do you know how hard talking this much would be with the capacity to run out of air?]

[Swerve grits his dental plates and his vents make a hissing noise that matches rather well with the painfully awkward expression on his face.] About that...

...I wouldn't recommend it. The clothes were, uh, horrible.

Apparently Alpha Trion had a book and stuff that got drawn on its pages sort of happened. But I, uh, I think he's got his pages back.

[He hopes. And he hopes that page in particular has been destroyed.]

[He tilts his helm.] About that...yes? This has to be good news. Because, honestly, I think Pharma kind of blames me for it.

Which is weird, huh?

Clothes? Like... No. We're not getting into this. This is the end game, Drift. The end of this part of this conversation.

[But oh no. The rest of this conversation is stuff he doesn't want to talk about. Well, not doesn't, but still. Welp! Already broke the news about Crystal City. Might as well do this.]

Well... You kinda did. Y'know. Cut his hands. [He holds his thumb and index finger about an inch apart. A feat considering his size.] Just a bit...
