[Drift may seem to be in a strangely upbeat mood. Because this? This he can do. He's spent more of his life in a battlefield than anywhere else, and more time in the field than some of his new friends have been alive.]
[In other words, he knows this.]
[The post is voice because he's busy doing his thing. And he doesn't want to take a break or risk traumatizing the weak of spark with what is likely very, very messy stuff.]
We need to coordinate air support. Spotters, at least, to tell us the pattern: where and what we're facing.
You don't have to engage; just spot and report.
[Not really locked to Wing.] ...try to be safe. Don't do anything stupid. [A pause.] That's my job.
[Not really locked to Wheeljack] You ever get those grenades ready?
[Not really locked to Annie.] Where are you?
[Not really locked to Noisy Boy.] These, uh, these don't fight fair. Might want to sit this one out.
((ooc: comm responses and action spam welcome))

I have no way of tracking it, though. [He's not a scientist, he's just...a police liaison for scientists. Or the other way around. Sometimes. When he's not doing other things. He's busy.]
It is deliberate. They aren't wasting much time. It is almost like they're tracking us.
[What you noticed, he also noticed. And did you...really just ask him that?]
My specialization is in combat. [He will be fine.] Also, I am not leaking. [Which makes him the only one out of the two of them.]
[voice]
[We 'get' the specimen. Drift's idea of science is sort of pugilistic.]
Hnh. We need to make sure the Temples are protected. Someone's at Solus's. Where can you go?
[He's not going to question you. Yet.] You're going to fight with your comrades, right?
[A snort.] Don't worry about the leaking. It's something I can throw in their optics.
[He transforms, climbing the tall junk pike he's called 'home' for quite some time, pulling his shotgun down off of his back.]
I can go anywhere. Deckerd says he has a plan, however, and my first duty is to my team.
[From the top, he can see plenty of directions where the monsters are heading.] There are some on route to Vector's temple. [He isn't air support, but this is not bad. Raising his weapon, he aims toward one that isn't far off, and the noise feedback from the powerful slug firing makes the communicator go silent for a moment, before it returns.]
Did no one worry about you, before? [Because he can tell you aren't used to it. You always have a comeback.]
[voice]
[If that's not good enough, whoever wants it can get his own specimen.]
You should stay with your team. Especially if you've fought together before.
[A practiced team is a blessing in combat.]
Not really. [Perceptor, perhaps, but they circled around that awkwardly enough. And Perceptor's worry normally came with armor-piercing sniper rounds.] It was easier that way.
[voice]
[Or help them find a way home.]
We always fight together. [It was a blessing.] It will be strange without the boss, however. Or without Build Team. There's no time for remorse currently, but...
[He sends off another carefully calculated shot.] I miss them. I would fight better, with them here.
[Your words don't surprise him, but they do make him sad.] With your permission, then, I will keep you in my thoughts. [It's always good to have someone who knows to check up on you, later. In case you might be dead.]
[voice]
[A sympathetic sound.] It's good to have those you can trust to fight beside.
It's only honorable to miss your friends. Especially in such a strange place.
I'll be fine. Don't worry about me. But thank you.
Fight well, McCrane. Do your team proud.
[voice]
[He says it with seriousness, his own brand of confidence. He has Gunmax and Deckerd, and he has new friends that he has made. This fight will be won.]
[However, he still nods.]
You are worth worrying about. [You've been nothing but nice to him, after all.]
I have received instructions from Deckerd. [He finally says, because he's finally gotten them.] If you can drive any monsters to the following coordinates, we have a way to neutralize them. [Coordinates would be sent.]
[voice]
[He's got a few million years of undefeated to his credit. He's not going to let some gibbering pitspawn take him down when Turmoil couldn't.]
You're one of the few that would say that, but thank you. [On the Lost Light, honestly, who would miss him? Rodimus, perhaps, but Rodimus didn't do 'worry'. It was against his religion or something.]
[A sound of acknowledgement.] I'll do my best.
[People can be so quiet about these sorts of things. He doesn't use very many words to do it, himself.]
Maybe there wasn't time.
There is some, right now.
[He shoots his weapon off, again.] And there might not be, later.
[With what Deckerd has planned...they might not have much time left at all.]
Thank you, then.
[He sees your shotgun and raises you some slicing.]
There will be. Have faith in yourself. In your team.
I do have faith in them. We will succeed.
[A beat.]
Good luck to you. This may be one more step on your road to redemption.
Till then, just do my best.
[Which is, apparently, slicing Sharkticons into sushi. ]
