[Drift may seem to be in a strangely upbeat mood. Because this? This he can do. He's spent more of his life in a battlefield than anywhere else, and more time in the field than some of his new friends have been alive.]

[In other words, he knows this.]

[The post is voice because he's busy doing his thing. And he doesn't want to take a break or risk traumatizing the weak of spark with what is likely very, very messy stuff.]

We need to coordinate air support. Spotters, at least, to tell us the pattern: where and what we're facing.

You don't have to engage; just spot and report.

[Not really locked to Wing.] ...try to be safe. Don't do anything stupid. [A pause.] That's my job.

[Not really locked to Wheeljack] You ever get those grenades ready?

[Not really locked to Annie.] Where are you?

[Not really locked to Noisy Boy.] These, uh, these don't fight fair. Might want to sit this one out.

I'm on my way to engage anything that's in the atmosphere still, but I can most assuredly keep a scanner tracked on patterns, where they're going, and what they are as well.

[The last seemed useful if only because it'd help formulate plans on how to handle or attack the creatures, though most of them seemed... not familiar as such, merely as if he ought to know what they were.]

[Wheeljack and Drift seemed to have the same idea, because he's en route to the battlefield himself. And who should contact him but his Wrecker bro?]

[Atmosphere. Huh. He hadn't been aware they had mech with that flight capability. Noted.]

First thing that we need to know--do they seem to have a plan or are they just opportunistic?

You probably have a better chance figuring that out with the big picture.

[Because the picture down here looks an awful lot like sliced off limbs.]

[Great minds think alike? *Wreckers brofist*]

Good. We don't know the size of the force yet, so we better make 'em count.

[A snort.] Good thing blades don't need to be reloaded, right?

Got a feelin' they won't know what hit em when I get there. What's your coordinates?

[He gives a slight chuckle as his wheels turn, heading for the battlefield.]

That's just the way I like it.

They don't seem that smart to begin with.

[Honestly, they remind him of the Swarm--gibbering, vicious, but not real bright.]

[He sends his coordinates--in the Junk Pile halfway between Liege's and Vector Prime's. Yeah, uh, someone is trying to fight his way to see if Wing's okay.]

[It's manly, though, because it involves a lot of killing.]

Then you're in for a really good time.

[Most goons weren't. Which made it all the more easy to kill. There was no strategy to their attack, so shoving a blade through them was a snap.

The coordinates were appreciated, and it wasn't long before Wheeljack pulled up by Drift, transforming and joining in the fun.]

Sorry, traffic was bad.

I can scout and report their movements easily enough. Likely pick off any strays and support Vector or Jetfire as needed.

[He wanted to be on the ground, in melee, but he knew with precious few fliers and his alt so suited to this job, the air was where he needed to be.]

I won't tell you to be safe Drift, I know you better than that, so be strong. [And at least don't go out of your way to do stupid things?]

[It's true. They're not that hard to kill...yet. Then again, it's called 'cannon fodder' for a reason.]

No rush. I was just warming them up for you.

[He shifts, swinging behind Wheeljack, so they're back to back.] Ever face anything like these?

[Wheeljack sticks his footing, pulling his two swords out as his faceplate slides across his mouth. Oh yeah, he's so ready for this.]

Nope, but I'm always up for a good challenge. They better not disappoint.

[His swords twirl in his hand, slicing one on each side of him.]

How much can you lift?

[Because they might need to move an injured mech to Solus's temple.]

[And Drift knows what you're thinking.] There are enough of us grounders to do the dirty work. You're more useful in the air.

At least right now. [Because he knows he can't stop you, altogether.]

[Stupid things what are you even talking about? What's not safe about facing down a swarm of horrible mutated monsters armed with two sharp bits of metal? ]

I can tell you the largest concentration are falling in the junkyard.

However, I have seen some leaving the area toward the temples.

[He's driving, right now, with junk flying by in the background. Now he knows why you were concerned about him staying out!]

"Ey Drift, how good you are at ambushes? Brute force is not my strong point ho-we-ver I know how to make others follow me around to where I want them."

[He's safe inside his lab at Liege's temple for now.]

First of all- yes, I am all right. Thank you for asking. [Because yeah, he can't fight with no hands and you left.]

Secondly, how are you feeling? Has the drug halted the liquid rusting at all?

They'll knock the rust off your skills, if nothing else.

[Oh, accidental pun. Combat makes him witty, what can he say?]

So, do we have a plan, or at least a direction to start slicing through this mess in?

[Wreckers and intricate plans do not mix.]

This might be a time to figure out what energy was expended bringing them here.

[Or maybe later.]

Are they heading there deliberately? Or just wandering like we did? [Because Drift did a lot of Clueless Wandering.]

You going to be safe?

[He should probably not sound so happy.]

[Oh...frag. He knew he forgot someone. It's going to take more than a Krazy Straw to get out of the cyberdoghouse this time, isn't it?]

You're safest there. I don't think Liege is likely to let anything happen there. [Frag, the First Forged threw a conniption about a little rust. He's likely not going to tolerate some sort of fullscale invasion.]

I'm not...spraying as much? [So, maybe.]

[Heh. It's all about teamwork, baby.]

Ohhhhh I'm sure sir Wheeljack will have a few things we can use. [Like those bombs he told Blurr he was planning to make.] What quadrant are you in now?

They might still have some residual on them.

I have no way of tracking it, though. [He's not a scientist, he's just...a police liaison for scientists. Or the other way around. Sometimes. When he's not doing other things. He's busy.]

It is deliberate. They aren't wasting much time. It is almost like they're tracking us.

[What you noticed, he also noticed. And did you...really just ask him that?]

My specialization is in combat. [He will be fine.] Also, I am not leaking. [Which makes him the only one out of the two of them.]

Without my handler I could not move offensively anyway. I will stay in Vector's temple and comm if I require aid.

[He pauses for a few moments before adding-] Thank you for warning me.

[Not many people have been concerned for him in the past.]

But.

You can fight if something attacks you, right? At least within your rules?

[Which they really, really need to find a way around.]

You'd do the same for me, I hope.

Enough to haul your aft out of there with no trouble.

[Because said injured mech might be you!]

Or several times my weight with greatly reduced speed/maneuverability.

Let me know if you need back-up. Looks like there may be a small wave coming your way soon, too early to tell though.

[There's absolutely nothing safe about that. But that's sort of the point with combat. Doing it alone would be stupid however. Hopefully you're not.]

Someone was looking for a specimen. Maybe when this is over we can do that.

[We 'get' the specimen. Drift's idea of science is sort of pugilistic.]

Hnh. We need to make sure the Temples are protected. Someone's at Solus's. Where can you go?

[He's not going to question you. Yet.] You're going to fight with your comrades, right?

[A snort.] Don't worry about the leaking. It's something I can throw in their optics.

I have defensive protocols. I cannot attack in return but I can stop blows outside of the ring.

[As long as he keeps his processor intact everything else can be repaired. And his forearms are tough.]
