[Drift may seem to be in a strangely upbeat mood. Because this? This he can do. He's spent more of his life in a battlefield than anywhere else, and more time in the field than some of his new friends have been alive.]
[In other words, he knows this.]
[The post is voice because he's busy doing his thing. And he doesn't want to take a break or risk traumatizing the weak of spark with what is likely very, very messy stuff.]
We need to coordinate air support. Spotters, at least, to tell us the pattern: where and what we're facing.
You don't have to engage; just spot and report.
[Not really locked to Wing.] ...try to be safe. Don't do anything stupid. [A pause.] That's my job.
[Not really locked to Wheeljack] You ever get those grenades ready?
[Not really locked to Annie.] Where are you?
[Not really locked to Noisy Boy.] These, uh, these don't fight fair. Might want to sit this one out.
((ooc: comm responses and action spam welcome))

AUDIO;
[He's not interested in offering, but he might as well find out.]
AUDIO; and he hasn't seen your post yet
Two active we can count on. [Jetfire and Wing.] Vector Prime.
And I've seen a Starscream on the comm net, but not sure how reliable he is.
[And Pharma, but Pharma's being safe in Liege Maximo's haven.]
That's my count. [A frustrated sound.] This is something we should have figured out. Seen this coming.
AUDIO; fair enough!
You're right. We should have been psychic enough to predict that this day would come. For shame on us.
AUDIO
[Oh he's glad this is audio because he cannot keep a polite face at the idea of multiple Starscreams. But he doesn't want to judge. Out loud. After all, mechs can change.]
We should have. This is Cybertron. The one common thing in all the mechs I've spoken with, whatever Cybertron they come from, is war.
AUDIO
That does seem to be the unimpressive trend, doesn't it? I wasn't expecting it to be a source of, hm... this, though. Whatever these things are.
AUDIO
[How long had Megatron trusted Starscream? Long enough to make him his second. Long enough to trust him with far, far too much.]
Maybe not this, but we've faced things like this before. The Swarm, for one. Not exactly like this, but stupid, deadly and ugly.
[So, close enough.]
AUDIO
[Or maybe he's just picked up the instinct of knowing who would betray him.]
No idea what the Swarm is, but I suppose it must be similar. Hmm. As for this, there seems to be no end in sight, does there?
AUDIO
[Cop? Well, at least you sound slightly less uptight than Ultra Magnus.]
The Swarm was an experiment gone wrong. Really wrong. It overran the planet.
This won't be that bad. [He hopes.]
AUDIO
Well. Let's hope not. Seems desperate times call for desperate measures. Too bad for us.
AUDIO
[He will now top that off with...an understatement.]
This is a lot different than your Earth.
This isn't that bad. ...yet. [He hasn't heard of any casualties, so far. Not that that would stop him. It would just make him fight harder.]
AUDIO
It can get bad. My only relief is that we don't have as many bystanders to think about.
AUDIO
[Your English idiom far surpasses his own.]
I hope they have the sense to hide in the temples. Those things must have withstood attacks before.
