Up to here or up to back on Cybertron? 'cos I couldn't really tell you what's going on back there, seeing as I kind of left and all.
Overlord kinda... Let's say he did what pretty much everyone expects mechs like him to do and leave it at that. Wasn't pretty. Lot of people got hurt and killed. Not sure what happened to him afterwards. Kinda hoping he's been offlined.
[Maybe a little harsh, but it is Overlord, and Swerve's good attitude does not extend to those levels. He's personable, not insane.]

Things got really weird towards the end. Earth was a big deal for a while, but it was pretty fine until Galvatron and his guys invaded Kimia and killed a good amount of the mechs on there. Arcee and Hardhead came by and rescued us when our escape pod got busted and they explained that Galvatron had this thing called the Heart of Darkness and he thought he was keeping something called the D-Void from destroying the universe by destroying Cybertron.
But it turned out the Heart was actually a way for it to get purchase in the universe, and so everyone had to sort of team up to stop him and they did and Cybertron got kind of rebooted.
But it came back kinda wrong and started attacking pretty much everyone. Which is weird 'cos it also sent out a signal telling us all to come home.
And then we found a map to the Knights of Cybertron in the now dead Matrix so Rodimus, Drift, Magnus, Red Alert and a few hundred others decided to go follow it to see if we could bring them back and usher in another Golden Age.
We found Tailgate too. He missed pretty much the whole war and almost killed Nut-Jo- I mean Whirl. I think you'd like him. It's kinda hard not to. [He's like a kitten.]
And yeah? Do tell. 'cos last I checked he got arrested, so you might wanna take that up with Magnus.
*pets the beautiful summary it must have taken you an hour to write*
That sounds...weird. Yes. [He'll go with weird.] Wait. The matrix is dead?
[There are about a dozen more questions but that's the one that actually gets traction in his brain.]
You....think I'd like Whirl? [Not from what he knows of the Wrecker.]

And yeah. Best I got was that Prime used it to fix the planet after Galvatron did something to it and it just sort of broke after that.
What? No. Primus, no. I meant Tailgate. I mean, I guess you could like Whirl too, if you want. Everyone knows you're kind of a Wreckers fan at this point, but he is definitely not who I was talking about. [He's not even sure Whirl likes Whirl.]
A thing. In your head. That you might be able to use on Overlord. Is this the thing that I think you're thinking about, or is this another thing that doesn't have anything to do with the thing I'm thinking about?

We broke the Matrix? You can't break an ancient artifact. I mean, that's like...against every rule in stories ever!
[But those were just stories. He stifles his outburst, sheepishly. ]

[Kerblink.] I'm not sure? [But he does have a headache now from trying to untangle that.] What, uh, what were you thinking about?

And you sorta explained it. You as in future you. Still, wish we coulda done something to help. Maybe fix it? [He's not gonna say that he wishes Ironfist would have told them. It's not like he needs to explain himself while he's still dealing with being dead.]

I just...what could I have done? He was my friend. And by the time I even...well, Babu Yar had already happened.
[It. It could only be one thing.] Yes. Why wouldn't it be?
.......Oh.. [He'd expected some satisfaction, some closure. Because that's what always happened in stories, right? Good triumphed, justice was done and everything got better.]
[Nothing felt better. It just felt...sadder.]
THE MOST WORST AT HELPING
Yeah. Well the FirstForged can probably do something about it, and I doubt anyone'll say you don't deserve it.
[He wasn't exactly expecting Ironfist to take that well. If he's honest, he wasn't sure what to expect from him a lot of the time. He always seemed wrapped up in Wreckers mythology, weapon designing, and apparently having a bullet tunneling towards his brain module.]
I'm probably the last person who should be telling you this, but it's better to feel responsible for something, to at least figure you did something wrong, than to just feel nothing. You did all you could to keep that stuff outta 'con hands. Skyfall... he made his choices and he didn't even feel anything. You're not really responsible for the choices he made, ya know? So at least you've got that. Don't know if that helps but... there you go.
[Okay. Now how does he change the subject without it feeling awkward and clunky, as far as conversations go?]

It was effective, I guess. [He's not happy with it either. Shouldn't Autobots be the good guys, not the guys planting remote trigger bombs in people's heads?]

Effective is one word for it. [Violation of basic cybertronian rights is another, though it's more like a phrase.] Not that I'm objecting to Overlord having a few in him.

...he did more than try to set me up. [The whole malfunction. It had been harder to hear that than that he'd basically gotten a death sentence. One was bad luck, the other was just...betrayal.]
