video; one more from the junk pile

[Add one more to the new arrival pile. This one can be seen picking himself up off the ground, and brushing bits of dirt off... yes, that's a suit. Sort of. Spying the Link, however, earns a raised eyebrow, and a long examination, before he speaks -- talking mostly to himself at first.]

That's nice... drop a person into a pile of junk. No warning, no anything. What's this supposed to be, anyway...?

[He's seen a lot, but this sort of takes the cake. So to speak. But it appears to transmit -- and so:]

Huh. [Just folding his arms.] All right. You got my attention. I'm waitin'.

[This is the part where the criminal pops out and explains their master plan, right?] But you're not going to like what happens, if you keep this up. My experience? Guys like you tend to get what's coming to them. And that never goes well.

... Anyone else get caught up in this?

[Or is he on his own for this misadventure.]

Don't know if this occurs to you, but human beings falling out of the sky doesn't end well. Doubt we'd be talking like this if that happened.

There was Deckerd, McCrane, and ... Kagerou. Deckerd ended up getting lost out in the Badlands. He's probably dead. McCrane and Kagerou were destroyed right in front of me. Drill Boy is here with me, and so is Boss.

[That pause doesn't bode well. Not in the slightest. And, apparently, his hunch was right.]

Well, first off, I had to get a complete engine change. You can't get gas easily here, but they have some other kind of fuel called energon. But I needed an overhaul so I could burn the fuel. So... sorry about that.

...Damn it, Boss. Yeah, I was. I kinda don't have legs right now.

What are you apologizing for? You think I'd want to see you run down because of fuel problems?

[Silence.]

[And then his footsteps pick up.]

[Yeah, forget things like being on the other side of Haven. He will walk to the goddamn medbay if he has to.]

[Here he goes quiet in a way that Toudou might recognize as Drill Boy being very upset. He suddenly found something else interesting to look at where he was, and his whole expression was sad.]

... But something bad happened, eh?

[Yuuta and Gunmax mentioned a few things. He's not happy about it -- not in he slightest.]

[But that won't help Drill Boy, will it?]

I'm coming to that medical bay. Don't worry -- if there's something I can set to right, you can bet I will.

[It's not much. But it's all he can offer. He'll get there by broken down bicycle if he has to.]

Yeah... the others have told you?

[He is still very upset about loosing the others, but he's trying to hide it, at least a little.]

Oh I'm not... I'm not damaged. I got Yuuta away from the fight, so I ended up not getting hurt.

[He looks a little ashamed about that since the others are all damaged or gone.]

But I can come pick you up, get you to the medical bay sooner!

Bits and pieces, yeah. I heard.

[Not everything, but pushing Drill Boy for details is probably not the best plan at the moment.]

Good work. If it was as bad as it sounds, Yuuta shouldn't have been there.

[He means that. And, despite the unfortunate news, there's a lot of pride in the words. Sincerity. You did a good job, Drill Boy.]

[If he could cry he might have, being told that he did good was something he hadn't expected and it came as a relief to know that he hadn't done the wrong thing.]

[He heads out and changes into his flight mode and flies towards the junk pile.]

I'll be here.

[Because there's not really anywhere else to go right now.]

[Drill Boy quickly went outside and changed forms to his flight mode, heading to where Toudou would be. It didn't take him too long to arrive there, and landing, opened to let him in.]

Pick up service.

Mr. Toudou!

Seems so. [You can't not smile at this kid.] Even if no one's telling me where 'here' is.

It's Cybertron. It's a planet far from Earth, I think they said.

[As long as it's been, that fact is still kind of cool.]

[He hadn't mentioned that one -- But the engineer just squares his shoulders, and picks up his toolbox. It... apparently followed him here, somehow.]

Yeah. There was... there was this mean robot he - he hurt a lot of people.

They're in the medbay here ah - I'll come get you, Mr. Toudou!

[The incident with the red and blue Chieftains is still pretty fresh in his mind.]

I got directions. You stay put. [Little things like a couple hundred miles or whatever aren't going to stand in the way of his guy and his robots.] We'll get them back in good condition soon.

His name is Overlord. He... he hurt a lot of people. He's from another world than ours.

[Excuse him for a second, something in the junk has caught his eye... a bicycle.]
