rstlsslegsyndrm: the tears of a leg (y-y no one listens to me SIGH)

[[inevitable] Video | LOCKED from Tarn]

[Before, Ambulon's shoddy red-white paint job mostly consisted of scratches, patches, and a few grooves. Now, however, most of his true colors are showing through on his chest and down his right arm, splattered with chipping white. Been too busy, too stressed, not caring anymore - whatever you wish to believe, as it's probably a likely combination of all three. Nonetheless, he does look stressed, if not irritated, annoyed, and... a little scared.]

I'm not sure who I go to for this specific request, but I am in need of a weapon. I don't suppose we have any of those lying around? [He's too on edge to even smirk at his own weak joke.] I don't even think we have any rules on firearm possession on this Cybertron, so I like to believe I don't have to trudge through paperwork in order to get one. [The hesitation is an unspoken "I'll steal something if I must."]

I figure, however, that those who possess the means of attaining a weapon would be those affiliated with the local law enforcement.

I'd really prefer going about this the more "legal" way, instead of resorting to the black market - or the equivalent here - or speaking to the Firstforged. Considering the fact there are psychopaths still running rampant, I doubt they'd offer much in way of protection. [The word burns with embarrassment.]

[a beat]

Also, I highly recommend avoiding Tarn. And for the police officers - if you do attempt to apprehend him, you'd best do so in an organized pack with all the force you've got. [He's not gonna admit you'd probably fail, however, because that's not good mojo.]

[Jetfire just shakes his helm, giving Ambulon a dry look.]

There's nothing cowardly in knowing your limits, or what you're willing or able to do. And, hmm... Perhaps something that would deliver an electric shock? Detachable to make sure you wouldn't be draining any of your own energy, but that way you can easily activate them, and it should be possible to give it at least two charges.

Hmmm... Long-range, you'd probably have to rely on a single, powerful discharge to bridge the distance... That would require some testing to know how high voltage would be needed to bridge what distance to reach the target...

[While Jetfire's still definitely having a conversation here, he's at the same time not looking exactly into the screen anymore, as he's clearly plucked out a datapad and is fiddling with it.]

While that's certainly possible, I would suggest a long, or longer-range weapon in addition in that case, since a weapon of this type might be more effective at closer range... You should still have the time you need to get away.

At least for such a weapon that would have a long-range mode, yes. Short range, and the target's frame should absorb all the energy given that it's electricity.

There's that, yes, but short-range and attached to you would also mean that, should all else fail, you have a weapon attached to your frame and could be used at extreme close range.

[Meaning, if you should get grabbed.]

The limited availability of ready-made pieces will make this slightly harder, but a shock-based weapon should also make it reasonably easier to find what pieces I can't make with my current limited set-up.

[He huffs, annoyed. Said limited set-up is also why it's taking such time for him to make the hover vehicles he has made.]

I should hopefully have something done within a reasonable time-frame nonetheless, even if it's going to take longer than it should.

Makes me wonder all the more if the first ones after the Thirteen, if they existed in my reality, had to deal with this, or if this is, indeed, the first stages and that's why there's no... regular... cybertronians around...

[Jetfire rubs his face and shakes his helm, the mutter slipping out as he mostly thinks to himself, contemplative.]

[Jetfire can't help the dry chuckle and the slow shake of his helm.]

I am actually well-versed in developing and making weapons, though not... quite with as little dedicated equipment available for their make.

And, ah, yes... At least in my reality, they supposedly existed. [He shrugs then.]

If we give belief to that the First Thirteen were made directly by Primus' hand, anyone who wasn't... which would be the rest of us.

[He's not counting sparks themselves in this, as he means more that the frame, as well, would have been made by Primus, which most of them couldn't claim even if their spark (supposedly) come from him.]

Mmm, I suppose so. And, hopefully, the ability to work together when needed. [You're awfully cynical, Ambulon!]

It's the... ah, charismatic outliers who distort the pattern of societal cooperation, usually, those who don't just rally those who would listen, but give a goal, drive and direction...

I suppose, usually that would be Megatron.

[Jetfire tilts his helm]

He is an outlier, since without him, even after several thousands of vorns extra after Prime and Megatron temporarily disappeared, we were about to make peace. [He gestures briefly, a short, sharp little thing.]

Then Megatron came back, though he did have a million-strong clone army at his back to temporarily end the conflict to his preference. My point is, however... that war isn't the only thing we're capable of.

[It's been obvious that some sort of conflict between a divided species seems to be the lowest common denominator, and Jetfire's noticed that and... not thought too closely about it, but given what he's just said, something... connects.

A slow frown blooms as he crosses his arms.]

Indeed, it is. But, besides being unfortunate... Maybe it's part of a pattern we see here as well, and I don't necessarily mean the tensions between factions here when they crop up... Rather, whether Unicron is behind it or not, or it's some less focused but nonetheless pervasive force that might instigate a pattern of violence...

On a multiversal scale, for some end we can't see from within our own realities.

[His frowns deepens as he turns it over in his processor, connecting it to what happened when the Fallen appeared.]

It's merely an unsubstantiated thought, without any corroborating data to back it up, however.

Interesting, if unpleasant. We had something similar happen earlier in the war, where... hm, a being that was before our recorded time, working for... [Jetfire frowns, but there's no reason not to link it together, especially given indications.] most probably, Unicron.

That would be interesting... to know how they avoided what seems to be a very usual pattern, though I doubt the war was "easily" started for any of us.
