[Here we have the police bird in his natural habitat. Standing by the lake in Alpha Trion's sector. He looks rather pensive and generally more upset than he usually does.]

[And before he can explain himself, he catches sight of his reflection in the lake. Scrawled on the panes of his left wing are the words "SPACE FOR RENT". On the other wing, in equally bold, obnoxious writing is "APRIL FOOLS".]

[He stares. And then drops the Link in an effort to scrub the writing off with his bare hands, twisting around into a veritable knot of unhappy ninja robot.]

[Unfortunately, all this does is give the viewer a good view of the back side of each wing, on which is written ""POWER JOE WAS HERE :D". One word per wing pane.]

[And it's then, in a fit of avian frustration, Kagerou has the most mature response to life there ever was. He lifts the nearest heavy rock and throws it, as hard as he can, shouting:]

I hate this place!

[He's gonna toss that rag on his wing, reaching up to rub the paint off.]

[He doesn't answer right away. Instead... he lifts a hand. The one he had clasped over his Glyph.]

[His... very ornate, very decorated, Glyph. It's still Trion's. But it's far more... well. It's a lot more than the simple marking everyone else carries.]

Then I should tell you what this means. Shouldn't I?

[When Kagerou lifts his hand, PJ takes notice. He's never seen the Trionic glyph, so the details are lost on him, for the moment.]

Huh? Yeah, we all got one, Kagerou. See?

[He shifts to show him his own shoulder.]

[He's not entirely sure what Trion did to it. He just knows that it no longer looks like all the other Glyphs. Even those who belonged to different Firstforged.]

I've... made a deal with him. The one who claimed me when I woke here.

[PJ takes another close look, this time seeing all the intricate details.]

What kind of deal? Did you run this by McCrane?

[Any kind of deal with someone not from their world was suspicious.]

... I agreed to help him. To work for him, and do what he asks of me.

[He glances away.]

In return... he will protect my memories. And allow me to look after those I care for.

[PJ glances down for a moment. That's all fine and dandy but...]

McCrane knows about this, though, right??

[He seemed insistent on that.]

What if it means you have to do their bidding, whether you agree with it or not?

... I asked him, and the other Brave Police, what they thought when I was still making my decision.

He told me to be cautious. But that it was my choice.

Alpha Trion... he doesn't want to make me do things I don't want to. I made sure of that.

[Just curiosity at this point. He needs to know the facts.]

... There was a creature here. It was called Overlord. It... hurt a lot of us. It tortured my friend.

And when it was captured, when it was sealed away... Megatronus set it free again.

[His hands have clenched during this little speech, his posture once again tense and rigid. This is not easy to talk about. It probably will never be easy to talk about. And he studiously avoids mentioning the full extent of what happened.]

[He doesn't want to have to explain dying.]

He hates us. He hates the police force. And he is dangerous.

[This immediately gets PJ fired up. If there was one thing that bugged him, it was when people skirted around the law, or heinous crimes like this.]

How could someone DO that?! Did he give a reason? Whatever it was, it wasn't a good one!

Megatronus ignores right and wrong. In favor of his own judgment... when it comes to those he's claimed.

But what about the law?! Isn't that why we have a police force?!

[This is just making PJ even more worked up. Seriously...]

And...McCrane went to talk with him recently...

He doesn't care. He ignores the laws, he does whatever he wants, regardless of what we try to do.

[They can both be angry at something besides each other then.]

Gunmax told me...told me that if Megatronus messes with McCrane, he'd take care of it.

[A pause.]

Is this what he meant?

[He stares for a moment, the gears in his head turning. Wings flicking. His expression hardens.]

If it is what he means... then he isn't taking care of it alone.

[A significant look at Power Joe...]

Is he?

[Since now they're apparently a team and all, they're in this together, right?]

[Those green eyes match Kagerou's, studying him for a moment...

Before he gives a smirk.]
