[Video] Impractical junkyard finds
-oh, hey guys!
[Sari sounds a little out of breath when the video comes up, camera giving a crooked view of the sky and towering piles of junk when she props the comm up against a box. She plops herself down next to it, wiping some sweat off her face with a grimy hand.]
Sooo, I found a thing. I don't know about you guys, but I'm really kind of tired of always having to run all the way to the pantry whenever I want food? Especially cold or frozen stuff? I mean, I have my scooter, but it's a really long ride.
[She makes a face, sticking out her tongue.]
But if I can get one of these to work?
[She leans down, patting the (slightly soggy) box she and the comm are sitting on. It sounds almost hollow- and she picks up the comm to give a better view. Sari is perched precariously on top of an entire pallet of six stacked mini-fridges, intact and still inside their retail packaging. She grins and, still sitting, lifts her legs to brace them against the side of one of the boxes. They are as big as she is when seated, and probably weight just as much if not more, but with the right leverage and a moment of grunting- the box unsticks from the one below it with a tear of cardboard...and slides about two inches. Sari whoops out a weak cheer, flopping back down.]
I totally got this!
...You all can have some too, I guess. After I get mine.

[Video]
[That is a totally excellent find that Cody wants to get in on. Having a fridge nearby would help a lot. Since there's already power outlits in the police headquarters, it'll be easy for him to set one up in his room.]
I wouldn't mind one!
[Video]
[Especially if she's doing all this work just to get one. She grumbles off camera for a moment, before flopping back down again. Another two inches moved! Woo!]
Sure, here. They're way out in the junkyard, though.
[She pings her current coordinates out through the comm; deep out in the piles nearest to Nexus' quadrant.]
[Action // with permission from Goa]
Oh, yeah. You totally got this!
[Kevin was already on his way down the hill as he called, surfing down the pile toward Sari with nothing but his ratty secondhand combat boots to bear the abuse. He came to a stop and strolled the rest of the way, putting on a confident, relaxed air as he eyed the fridges.]
Give it a year, and you might make it out of the junk heap with one of those.
[Action]
Hey-! You! Jerk boy! What are you doing here?!
[Action]
Getting a front row seat, from the looks of it. You really think you can carry these suckers back before someone else comes to lift 'em for themselves?
[Action]
[Sari hisses, clambering up on top of the fridge she's been pushing, bristling possessively.]
I know I can't carry it - I'm not stupid! I'm not even trying to take them all, I'm just getting mine!
[Action]
[Action]
[Aaand she sticks her tongue out at him. Most mature response ever.]
[Action]
Well, go on then. Lemme see.
[Action]
[She leaps down from the top of the mini-fridge and settles down next to it, glaring at the boy all the while. She sits down, bracing her back up against the side, and starts to push, digging her heels down.
...She is a small kid, so despite her grunting, it is no surprise when it doesn't seem to move. It tilts a bit, but seems to be stuck on the bottom.]
I...so got this!
[With a stubborn, frustrated snarl, she slams her whole weight into it. With a tear of packing cardboard, the fridge moves toward the edge. A whole two inches. She still cheers triumphantly.]
[Action]
Nice job! Now let me try.
[He leans down and touches a piece of scrap metal. The gray metallic texture sweeps up his arm and across his body until it looks like he's made of metal. He grabs one of the fridges and braces himself a moment before slowly lifting it over his head. He turns, grinning back at Sari.]
Now where did you want this to go?
[Action]
...w-what?! How did you do that!?
[She jumps to her feet, staring, before stepping close enough to give a metal-grey arm a poke.]
[Action]
What can I say? I just got some skills, is all. Being amazing is kinda what I do, you know?
[Action]
...Uh huh. Right. Just put it in this cart over here!
[She jumps down from the top of the fridge stack, showing him her yellow scooter with attached hauling cart. She shoves her bags of junkyard finds over, making room for the fridge.]
So. Are you a robot disguised as a person or something else?
[Not that she would know anything about that or anything...]
[Action]
I guess you'd call me something else. My dad was an alien.
[action]
...whoa wait, what? Alien? No way!
[Sari you deal with alien giant robots every day why is this so unbelievable?]
[action]
In space.
[action]
[Sari tilts her head, making a face. That is way too awesome a story for such a jerk boy to have!]
Then why do you look, you know, human?
[action]
I dunno. Why do humans look like Osmosians?
[action]
[Says the robot-child that at least looks human...]
[action]
[action] UGH I thought I'd tagged these Dx
[She gives him a doubtful look.]
What planet do they even come from?
[Video]
[Video]
[She still looks doubtful, but it's hard to keep arguing in the face of such stubborn faith.]
Cool, I guess.
video;
[Also, best find.]
video;
[She waves, pausing long enough to drag a water bottle from her bag to take a much-needed drink.]
Nah, I so got this. I'm not even taking them all - anyone else who wants one can come and get it themselves!
But for mine, I've got a plan and everything!
video;
Ooh, a plan. So what is this plan you've got, outta curiosity?
video;
I found a thing!
[Not even bothering to get up from her seat, Sari picks up the comm and dangles it off the side of the stack, showing off her jetpack-in-scooter-mode...with an old farm wagon jury-rigged to stay hitched to the back.
...Probably not the brightest move, given the size of the scooter, but it's more than big enough to carry a single fridge, and all she has to do is push it into it.]
See?
video;
That's a nice little rig you got set up. Well, if you've got it all planned out. Just be careful, all right? You need an assist f'r any reason and I'll have your back.
video;
Yeah sure! I'll let you know - thanks!
video;
No problem, little lady. And do.
[Video]
[Video] Bulkheaaad ;3; I am sorry
But she managed to talk to the weird not!Bumblebee before, so...Maybe she can handle this.]
...I got it. I've got a...cart thing.
[She gestures off the side of the pallet, where a ragged old farm wagon sits mostly hidden behind the boxes, next to her scooter and ready to haul her finds. Sari is determined to do this herself. She doesn't say anything else for a long, awkward moment, until-]
...If you want to come grab the others for everyone else though, you can. I guess.
[Video] At least she's not crying this time? xD
..alright. [Huh, interesting set up.]
Uh, sure. I can do that. I'm sure Miko'd like one too. Ya only found six of them though?
[Video] THIS IS TRUE. |D
...Yeah, just six. I got one, and Cody said he wanted one too. So there are still enough for her, if she wants.
[Video]
I'll see if she wants one. I'm sure there's others that want one too, be easy ta find people for them.
[Video]
[Sari finally finds her resolve and looks at the screen properly, giving Bulkhead some weird combination of nod and shrug.
So awkward, child.]
I don't really care who gets 'em, so long as it's, you know, people who actually need them for food and stuff?
[Video]
Yeah, I get that. I know food here's limited for you organics. The more places ta store it, the better.
[video]
[video]
[video]
[video]
[Surprise, surprise, she shakes her head, waving off to the side before giving the fridge her legs are braced against a stubborn kick.]
Nope! Still totally got this! I found a cart thing I can use.
