[VIDEO | Solus Prime's temple]
I wish I could say being transported to another universe was the strangest thing that's happened to me.
Assuming these robots haven't been loaded with the wrong data, I'm supposed to believe I'm on a planet called Cybertron? Can't say I've heard of it before.
[Sigh] At least I'm... safe now. I assume these robots have some sort of defense function - God knows I could use a break.
[Despite his initial comment being fairly light hearted, Isaac is frowning.]

Anyway, the original broadcast of this video was to see whether I'm alone or not. Spending the rest of my natural life with these mechs isn't really my idea of retirement.

video;
Isaac, but only if you call me Shepard. [ She shakes her head. ] No more comforting than another human. A vessel can't run without a team of engineers.
Surprised enough to tear the whole galaxy apart, there're more talented individuals that depend on me back home.
Re: video;
Nice to meet you, Shepard. I've been told there's no known way back yet, so hopefully they won't do too much damage in your absence.
video;
I was told time doesn't really pass when you aren't there, but I'm skeptical as to how someone would figure that out if they aren't there.
I won't know 'til I get back. The last time this happened, everyone sort of disbanded and the whole galaxy almost went to hell in a handbasket. I'll be damned if I don't try to get out of here, but getting your bearings takes priority.
Re: video;
I'd think maybe someone got back then was pulled back through? Maybe these 'First Forged' know something about it, although from what I've been told they're not too keen on releasing information about how this place works.
All that happened just because you left? If you don't mind me asking, what the hell went wrong?
Re: video;
Yeah, well. I'm not keen on them either to tell you the truth. Not until I see one.
I didn't leave so much as I died. It's a long story, probably more believable when told in person. Tell me how you ended up orbiting Saturn and I'll tell you.
Re: video;
Given what I've seen today, I feel I'm not as surprised as I should be - but I digress; I was orbiting Saturn because I had a forced extended stay in the Sprawl, which is a civilian space station built into Titan. Or, uh, one of Saturn's moons.
Alright, now your turn. [He leans back, raises his eyebrows and crosses his arms. Boy howdy he sure is interested in how Shepard managed to cheat death!]
video;
Commander of my own ship, I know Saturn's moons.
Forced, extended stay?
Short spoken for a long story you're gonna get. What, were you incarcerated?
Re: video;
Right, sorry. Just making sure.
Incarcerated... yeah. Not so much for breaking the law but more, well. You're a Commander, I'm sure you're familiar with governments deciding to ignore and cover up issues that would be better suited brought to the attention of the general public, right?
[Isaac pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs] Jesus, I'm going to sound like a complete nutcase here but... they incarcerated me because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and know a few too many things they'd rather I didn't.
video;
Sounds like typical government to me.
[ She states this matter of factly. Of course she would; she knows how it feels. Perhaps not to such as extreme level though. ]
Sounds more like being dealt a shit hand, all in all.
[ Shepard wouldn't press on though; she can tell it's not his favorite topic of all time. Well---neither was getting spaced, she was still having nightmares---but she made him a deal. She takes a moment to compose herself. ]
I was spaced after my ship went to tatters being attacked by a Collector ship. So busy making sure everyone else got out just fine that I ate the atmosphere of a nearby planet, Alchera. To be completely honest, I suffocated first; so I wasn't alive for the whole---burning up in the atmosphere part. Thank god.
A multi-trillion credit, anti-alien, pro-human organization spent two years rebuilding me because they thought they needed me.
That's the bare minimum of it though. We'd just gotten through taking care of an alien named Sovereign; a kind of alien known as a 'Reaper', which much of the galaxy thought I was crazy, Reapers are fairytales, but the government gambled on me & decided that the possibility of a Reaper was too much to ignore. Well at least up until I died, then those bastards decided I was a liar.
Collectors, another kind of alien, decided around then to start abducting human colonies; for what, I still don't know. But that's why a pro-human lifer brought my ass back from the dead.
Re: video; ah, sovereign, you truly were a nightmare on veteran mode
[He manages to catch himself, though. Shepard's just told him how she died and this isn't a pissing contest for 'who has the most PTSD inducing trauma']
Wow I'm... sorry your death had to be the catalyst for the government to finally pull their heads out their asses. It's incredible how often they fail to see the bigger picture - but then they'd look bad when shit hit the fan, God forbid they do the right thing first and avoid all this secrecy bullshit to begin with. Your crew is incredibly lucky to have such a selfless leader. [Mad respect, yo]
Uh, how exactly did they rebuild you, if you don't mind me asking?
video; still having flashbacks ugh
[ She chides, waving off the compliment. ]
Quite the opposite, they pulled their heads out while I was alive, but found their way back in when I died. This...anti-alien organization---Cerberus. They don't work for the government.
[ She shakes her head. ]
I'm not selfless---just a commander. If I'd have left anyone for my own sake, I'm sure my mother would hunt me down and make sure to kill me.
With a lot of money, plastic and synthetics. It's...been a while, I'm sure some of me has grown back into the bone grafts and skin weaves, but I'd still wager a good 85% of me is artificial. Organic, not robotic. Though there's enough hardware in me still to set off a metal detector.
Re: video; i had tali with me for reasons i still don't know and just. never again.
You certainly seem human enough; if you're still you in the... y'know, brain-y area. [So smooth] They did a damn good job, regardless. Certainly sounds a lot more morally sound than the limb replacements in my universe.
Then again, you did say anti-alien - so maybe I'm spouting off about things I know nothing about. [SHRUG]
video; AHHHH
You'd be amazed at what survives a fall through the atmosphere. I'll pass on the compliment.
What's so morally unjust about them?
Re: video; i feel like i betrayed garrus because my other squaddie was kaidan. awful.
[He's surprised Shepard wasn't atomized on impact, to be honest. Best keep that though to himself.]
It's less the practice than the, uh, lack of consent. That, and body farms cloning farms are just really damn creepy.
video; HOW COULD YOU????
[ She takes a seat on a rock to continue talking, ]
Shit. Well, then I guess we're both glad you're here.
Re: video; i should not be allowed to play video games
Ha, cute. Everything on a broken ship full of zombies is 10 times scarier than normal.
[Did he forget to mention the whole necromorph thing? Oops!]
Video; yeah, permission revoked sir.
[ Did you just say that. ]
Re: Video; ;_;
[M-maybe he got a little bit too comfortable. He's only human!]
Video;
Re: Video;
Video;
Re: Video;
Eh, true. I guess both our lives are fucked up enough that we'll fit right in here.
Video;
[ She shrugs. ]
Zombies got anything to do with body farming you were mentioning?
Re: Video;
It didn't help that the corpses are weaponized unpon death, either. This suit is sturdy as hell but when you're being smacked around by an abomination of about five different people mashed together, it sure does show its weak points.
video;
That---[ Doesn't make any damn sense. Weaponizing a corpse? ]
I'll give you a few pointers. Atmospheric pressure falls pretty high above alien zombies.
