DOUBLE PILLAR ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY

[It extends upwards as far as the eye can see, vanishing directly into the Lambda. Markings adorn its rough, worn surface, too ancient to read. The material itself seems new, however--a contradiction in forms. All who approach will hear its rhythmic thrumming, a noise pulsing from it with a lulling and dangerous tone. Around it the earth is broken and crumbling, and pieces of debris from the junk pile radiate outward...some of it charred as if burned.
Will you approach?
Examine?
Climb the precarious looking footholds?
Or fall victim to something equally sinister...]
Note: This is the Pillar interaction post! A mod will be observing any threads made here, and will occasionally post with a response from the pillar depending on which actions you take. It is strongly suggested that you approach the pillar with a friend, as the effects of the Pillar's influence are not always pretty. (Also, it's difficult to hold a conversation between a character and a piece of stone.)
BE WARNED--many different outcomes will be administered here. If you don't want your character to be killed/injured/possessed then clear your post with Saeru before making it. All effects (yes, even death) will be temporary (IE not lasting more than three days).

[It's probably stupid to come out here on his own, armed only with a stout pole.]
[But...]
[No, none of this is okay. He can't accept it.]
[So he approaches the pillar. Slowly, picking his way through the junk, and watching it warily.]
no subject
He finally makes his mind up to go, taking care to go off fully armored, his glider cutting through the air as he crosses the great distance of the junk pile.
The familiar red figure below is what catches his attention, and slowing down, Ventus swings around towards Perceptor.]

What do you think..? Looks like it goes all the way up to the Lambda.
[So it was probably a lucky thing she and Swoop had met prior to getting too close to the pillar, and since she was rather used to coordinate with the Swoop of her reality, it seemed quite... natural.]

He comes to a stop eventually, looking up... and up.]
Might. But if goes all the way up... where it come from? And why all them FirstForged disappear when it show up?
no subject
[She sighs, taking a step back to tilt her helm up.]
I don't like this noise. And as for the Firstforged... We couldn't approach during the storm, and then this came down... like an attack. They might not have been ready for it.
[Surprise attacks were hard to defend against, after all.]

Pillaring
y helo thar pillar
you're a very pillary pillar. A pillar of the community, you could say.
the pillar certainly likes to think it 'stands' for the rights of pillars everywhere

So he'd went alone, and, transforming back into rootmode a distance away from the pillar rising out of the ground (or was that perhaps "extending down from the Lambda"?) Jetfire frowned at it. The pillar would, unless it's just a cover for something that's actually causing him and the others who are supposedly "changed" being here, be the reason for it.
So, how and what are the exact changes? What he can figure is either possession - a small, simple matter, really, especially if it's merely a copy and dragging that through time-space - or... they just think what they know is true.
Jetfire's not sure if he wants that last to be true or not, so with a shake of his helm he slowly starts approaching it. Investigate the base first, then work upwards.]
no subject
It's been made obvious that the lambda is the cause of the dimensional rift, and right now there's something sticking out of the lambda. To him...as...odd as it might be, this might be a chance.
Someone else must have been thinking the same thing, because he realizes he's not alone as he approaches the base.]
It is more ominous than I was expecting.
[He comments, coming to a stop near Jetfire, hands on hips and looking up.] Do you think it would be possible to scale it?
no subject
But apparently something decided they would end up next to each other anyway, and Jetfire just ends up staring for a moment - but there's been some time to deal with it so after a moment he frowns.]
If it comes from the dimensional tear instead of rising up towards it, it's an unnatural infringement, which usually produces some... discomfort. [Had Jetfire been normal, he'd never had said that. This one however had some... experience with the darker sides of science.]
And if that noise is a product of the pillar itself in some fashion, the vibrations might end up detrimental after a while. But from a technical angle, it shouldn't be impossible.
[He wouldn't recommend it however, especially if this is tied in some way to energies darker than what most end up dealing with, which seemed possible.]

Could be, as long as it's touched? And since it *wants* to be...

He stops at the edge of where the charred remnants of debris begin, glancing down uncertainly before he lifts his optics towards the pillar itself.
Maybe...maybe this was a bad idea.]

[She looked to the large mech and then back at the pillar.]
What do you think of this thing?
no subject
I don't like it. I'm not sure how to explain it, but... [He shakes his head, glancing at Rose.]
Do you feel something...I dunno, off about it?

Uneasy feeling or no, he carefully scales the junk, stopping about three meters away from it. His pseudopuppy Fang growls at the pillar from his post in Strelok's backpack while the man in question simply examines it for a while.
Well. He's come this far. Now to see if he can figure anything out.]
go team self preservation!
[he'd started towards the junk pile clad in his RIG suit while keeping a close eye on the link for anything of interest that might pop up. thankfully, it looked like he wouldn't be the only one going on what was probably going to end up as a suicidal trip to the pillar]
[when he spots strelok standing alone, isaac figures he might as well see what other people's plans are]
So, uh. Any ideas of what to do with this thing?
best team of all at self preservation awh yeah!
No clue, unless you happen to have a lot of C4. I was going to see what I could figure out about it.
I could always use a little backup, though.

She brings her hovercraft closer. Her eyes start clicking and flashing as she examines the strange markings covering it. What a strange mystery, perhaps she should get closer...]

Closer is very good. In fact, look at that texture! It's just begging to be examined and felt and catalogued and felt and did we mention felt?]

Fascinating.]

But he's finally given in to the curiosity and headed out to the junkyard. After all, the thing looked like it was also sticking out of some kind weird spacebridge. It was worth going to look at.
He transformed when he finally got there, stopping when he's close by it. He lifts his head, looking up and up and up at it in wonder.]
no subject
When he arrives it takes him a few seconds to notice that Bulkhead was already there.] OhHelloBulk. Ey, you are curious about this thing too, I take it?
no subject
When you begin to approach, you'd instantly notice there's a sort of magnetic attraction to the Pillar. It seems very interesting and mysterious, albeit in a dangerous sort of way, and it's definitely calling to be touched.]

When he approaches, though... Something feels off about it. He's felt similarly strange before, but not quite the same, when the call of the D-void unified him and his Decepticon comrades into the combined, hive mind. His memories of that time are hazy -- he doesn't quite remember what had occurred. It was mainly feelings and colors than any sort of real data.
His optics lift up, up to towards the sky, squinting at the very top of the tower. Now all he had to do was climb. ]
no subject
There are ways to climb without making contact, of course!
Or you could just give in, and put your hand on its textured surface.]

But when he finally got to it, something was pulling at him, like a magnetic force. He kept his ground for only so long before the burning desire to find out what was the cause of this overcame him. Slowly he approached.]
no subject
Approaching is exactly what the Pillar is hoping for.
There are some other obvious facts, as well...such as the rubble around which indicates this pillar has burried itself very deeply in the planet, and the way it stretches nearly all the way to the Lambda almost seems physically impossible...
However, it would like you to believe that the best way to examine it is up close and personal.]
