I agree that the pilar needs to go away but blowing it up might cause a more serious problem. It's huge, too huge to know how tall really it is.

If we make it fall we can't be sure that it won't crush us or even hit one of the temples.

Better it crush one minor temple than allow it to keep manipulating us.

Jetfire mentioned that the pillar might not follow normal laws of physics. We don't know what is really made of and how the space-time anomaly can affect it. Not to mention how it affects the environment around it.

Maybe we have to start analyzing a part of the pillar to be 100% sure it's safe to destroy it.

No, of course not. We were thinking about organizing a party to investigate the pillar. Jetfire also told me that it goes under the ground and might reach Cybertron's core.

[It might be connected to the planet's heart, that's how bad that thing is. Blurr just want to be sure they don't kill the planet by accident trying to get rid of the Pillar.]
